Next Saturday is going to be the crucial weekend, as we have it off due to Coventry's progression in the FA Cup. Everyone will be playing their 'catch up' game, so if it goes the right way for us, the pressure reduces quite significantly. If it goes the other way, its game on again.

10 points clear of 4th place with 14-15 games to go. If we stay 10 points clear with 9 games left (and teams need to gain more than 1 point a game), that becomes very difficult.

20 more points for promotion from 14 games. 2 home games coming up.
Seriously, it is not crucial for you at all. It would take the fuck up of all fuck ups for Luton to not finish top 3 this year with that squad, best team in the league by a Country mile surely there's not one poster on here who doesn't think you'll go up?

We are on a knife edge now as to how the season will go. With the games we have we will know by beginning of March if we will still be members of this thread.

This is Luton so you never know. We like fucking up!

Ill also be honest, having been top for much of the season, and I think displayed that we are the best team in the league at leas tup until this point, ill be really disappointed if we dont take the title.

Whereas Luton do have a recently history of fucking up and failing (often very amusingly so) you're not going to this season. You've been head and shoulders above everyone else this season.

Though I do concede that if we were in your shoes id also be expecting the worse

Terrible set of results for us tonight. No one is going to do us any favours (I'm looking at you in particular Newport).

Mansfield warm up for coming down to ours by scoring five, I'm sure we'll roll out the red carpet on Saturday for them

We needed that. Collective sigh of relief at meadow lane at the end of 7 added minutes

5-0.

Total and utter dominance from start to finish. One of those performances of where it wouldn't matter which league 2 side was here, it would be the same. We just need to do it more often

Annoying that other results also went against us but all you can do is win.

So we went on our sticky patch after the Swindon game when we won 5-0. Since then we’ve PL9 W5 D1 L3 = 16 points. For a bad run, that’s still bloody good.

17 points required. Thinking the first game of April v Mansfield could well be the day.

Important win tonight although we really did hang on at the end. Had Stead and Ameobi’s strikes gone in we could have gone on, but the post/bar saved them.
It was us saved at the end though but Carlisle couldn’t convert a second.
Newport away followed by Stevenage at home in the next 2.

It feels like Accrington, Wycombe and Mansfield are al on astonishingly good runs, coming from behind to win, scoring loads of late goals etc. Pretty much what we were doing in the first three months of the season. Is it sustainable?

From a Notts point of view, we’ve just got to keep ourselves in the mix until we play Mansfield, Accrington, Wycombe and Coventry in the space of like a fortnight.

We’re also at Cambridge next Tuesday in the game that was rearranged from fourth round day. Six points from those three is a must.

Who's to say your "dodgy" run will continue. Who's to say ours accringtons or wycombes will continue. We've no idea.

What I was delighted about, as will you be, is that after a Disappointing result on Saturday this was the perfect tonic to rectify that and get back on winning runs.

5-0 is nice on paper and is good for the GD but 3 points are 3 points. Exeter away are behind us, but if they beat us and then make use of their games in hand....

It'll be one of those where no-one really knows until the death.

Coventry seem to be doing their best to escape promotion odds though

So home wins for all the sides up there - Luton, Accrington, Wycombe, Notts county and Mansfield.

No ground given there then

You can get odds of 1/200 for Luton to gain promotion from BetVictor.

Although if you shop around Betfair are offering 1/33.

I know we are in a bad run of form but we shouldn't be ruled out yet.
We've got horrendous injury problems , two ACL's and a broken collar bone to our three best players plus loads of jiggly injuries especially our captain is taking its . Thesquad is not full of older more experienced players and The kids coming in just aren't ready.
We should have a couple back in two weeks which should leave us with time to catch up.

The jiggly injuries are the worst, although I hear Dr Jazzy Jeff can help cut the injury time. I have his PA’s number Mr W Smith if you need it

We've had a bit of a tricky month or so fixtures wise. Dropping 2 points at Lincoln and 1 at Wycombe could come back to haunt us come the end of the season, but we have now played the current top 5 home and away (apart from Accrington) and our end of season run, on paper is quite palatable.

We have now played 1 game more than most but I still think we have a chance of gaining automatic promotion. The only issue is our best centre back could be out for the rest of the season and another is having pain killing injections to get him through games.

Our home game with Accrington on the final game of the season could be a winner takes all shoot out!

We have Luton at home on the last day. The last time we played them on the final day of the season we brought them down with us and West Ham in a 2-1 win in the top flight.

I wonder if there will be as much riding on it this time, although I imagine Luton will be on the beach by then!

Our last four games see us play Exeter and Lincoln at home and Wycombe and Swindon away.
We also play Mansfield and Notts County over the Easter weekend.
I hope we have no injuries in those final few weeks or we may screw it up again!!

Predicted Champions: 93 points
Predicted Promotion: 85 points
Predicted Play Offs: 74 points

Based on points per game currently. Seems a bit higher than previous seasons.

That would be a tasty play off! Anyway, we stopped conceding which is the first point and we should have won but I except the point as our away form hasn’t been great.

Cambridge and Stevenage next week so we will see what happens. Less than 4 points and we can right ourselves out of it.

So you've got 6 of your last 13 against the bottom half. So as stats go, that really isn't significant.

It does “annoy” me that Mansfield has taken over us but it doesn’t surprise me. They had a “bigger” budget and manager (can you see what I did there) and Notts weren’t tipped much more than mid table.
If we make the playoffs that’s well over expectation, oh and we will win it as well!
