Quite a lot of support for Corbyn in the audience last night (notwithstanding the Spanish woman who said his followers are all closet communists  ).

Mary Beard is a decent sort, isn't she?

Nice to see Vince Cable given a chance to get out of the house.

Caroline Flint is so annoying.
She's my MP, a very sexy lady but will hopefully lose her seat under Corbyn at the 2020 election.

Thought Mary Beard was the best panelist although that was obvious before even watching the show. The politicians very rarely stray from the party line so I'm not sure why I watch it every week but I find it mildly entertaining. Especially when someone like George Galloway is on.

Started well tonight. Good to see Ed Miliband back on the box. And four other good panellists.

Quite enjoyed that. Best episode in a while. Steve Hilton is quite an articulate chap - and rather an embarrassment to David Cameron.

Cheers mate i'll be watching that then. One problem i have with QT is they have the same Tory women on every week like Rudd and Soubrey(s)

Farage was good on the ITV thing last night. Brought the immigration rhetoric down a notch which I continue to believe is the best tactic.

I still find Benn's journey from anti-EEC to pro-EU absolutely bewildering.

Well this is horrible. Farage being the hopeless twat that he is. The women from the mail spouting bollocks, Hilary Benn and Grayling looking like they'd rather be anywhere else and dear old Eddy doing his best to make sure people vote out with his weird rambles.

Can anyone remember who chaired it before him? The only other one I remember was Robin Day but I'm sure there was another before Dimbles. Wonder who will take over. Paxman maybe? Maybe time for a woman to have a go.

They should just ditch the programme. I can’t watch it for more than 20 minutes without thinking we should scrap democracy entirely or at least reform our political system so it works roughly how it did before 1867.

P.S. Would think differently if the new host is either Prince Phillip or Brian Blessed.

I'm not sure question time has the remotest bit of relevance any more given how so few people watch it.

Glad Dimbleby is going though, the guttersnipe.

Nigel Farage will replace him, BBC think he's box office.

Always liked Dimbleby on QT. He'll be missed, some big boots to fill.

Who do we think might be lined up to take over?

Paxman? Kirsty Wark? Jeremy Vine?

I think Wark, or someone similar, might be good. A Paxman type figure would be awful. Too abrasive.

I used to watch it religiously but haven't seen it in years. I'm not sure whether it got progressively worse or whether it was always awful and I just tired of it. I suspect the latter, If I'm honest. On balance, I think I'm still glad they air it, but it's quite an awful programme in a lot of respects. A new presenter could help, but they ought to look at revising the format too really.

I had a look back to see what the panel was like when Robin Day was the host. It tended to be real political heavyweights plus a journalist.

Now it's a childrens tv presenter, a comedian, a pub landlord, a pressure group with dodgy funding plus a politician you've probably never heard of.
The audience appear more excited by a well timed soundbite than any genuine insight.

I really do think they should remove the audience aspect. Have questions submitted online and read out by the host.
