I get the mind games bit but then why encourage fans not to go, that’s the bit that doesn’t make sense to me. :dk:

Chesterfield look a lost cause now. Flash in the pan result that Sky game was and I felt that at the time. Too many fans got carried away with how they brushed past an out of form and inconsistent opponent.

Massive relegation superclasico at Blundell Park though upon us now...

If things carry on this way today then am willing to say we are definitely safe.

Chesterfield now in must win territory for all their remaining games I feel.

I don't think anybody got carried away with anything really. The fans have known we're down for weeks.

Not so much your fans who obviously understood why you're down there, I meant the casual viewers who watched the game. Having seen you twice this season I know exactly why you're down there myself!

Would've been happy with a draw if all the others hadn't picked up points.

The challenge is now approaching impossible.

And with that Vale are now safe (barring any points deduction or anything like that). God knows we sure as hell don't deserve to be though.

And I assume you went mental when the penalty went in too?

Had no energy left. Given up hope. To anyone following that game that exactly sums up what it's like being a Barnet fan. Godawful.

We deserve to go down and down again. Barnet wanted it so much more than us. Thank god we had a local lad to bring on and show any ounce of desire, it might just have saved us.

Great day for us, Yeovil and the Vale given the dropped points. Barring Chesterfield sorcery and dramatic losses of form for all three of us, we're all safe now.

Good day for FGR with a priceless win in the Gloucestershire derby. Game in hand as well, 1 win will keep them up and they still have to play Chesterfield and Grimsby too!

Draw specialists Morecambe need 1 win as well to keep them up (or 3 draws). Fully expect them to survive now but next year will be the year they'll go.

Looks like 2 from the bottom 3 to go now. If Grimsby won that, Barnet and Chesterfield were gone. Chesterfield have a huge game at Exeter on Tuesday to put the pressure on Grimsby. Barnet vs Chesterfield on the final day could be the one saving grace for Grimsby...

Still five teams left in it - up to Morecambe purely because we still have to play them.

Win or bust next week against Newport. We need FGR, Grimsby and Morecambe to all lose to give us genuine hope. Mainly Grimsby though to give us a 2 point gap with 2 games to go.

Fair play to Grimsby, who've managed to do what Chesterfield couldn't and take points from games they needed to.

Would've tightened it up had Barnet held on, mind. Important win for FGR.

Awful second half from us though, really awful. Just sat back and asked for it, didn't think I'd be saying this before the game but delighted to get out of there with a draw and keep the 5 point cushion.
One more win (which is still a huge ask with this poor team) should be enough for us as I can't see Barnet winning their last 3 or Chesterfield getting 3 wins and a draw from their last 5.

24th Chesterfield(41) - 35 points. Exeter(A), Forest Green(A), Wycombe(H), Newport(H), Barnet(A)

Yes, I know those teams over 45 points are all but safe, but until it's mathematically confirmed, we'll keep everyone involved, because in theory, all teams are still playing for points to confirm their league status. Crewe and Yeovil lose to promotion chasers in Luton and Wycombe respectively, sounded like both teams showed up well and they'll both be safe. Same goes for Port Vale, who ended any lingering doubts they might have had with a good win over Lincoln.

Morecambe keep chipping away and picking up draws, it's hard to see Chesterfield or Barnet catching them either. Same for FGR, a good win at local rivals Cheltenham, they can make the rest of the teams down near the bottom less nervy with a win next Saturday against Chesterfield. Grimsby seemingly scrapped out a draw with Barnet, not the best result, but they didn't let the bottom 2 close the gap. But with their next 3 all tricky, they'll be praying the bottom 2 can't catch them.

Both the bottom 2 are in must win territory now with the gap to safety 5 and 7 points respectively. Barnet have a chance I think, but again, they have to win all 3 of their remaining games, even one dropped result could seal their fate. Chesterfield though, they had the chances in the last few weeks and have blown them all. Today was probably their last chance, they need to win 3 of their last 5 to catch Grimsby and they aren't doing that.

Think it's between Grimsby and Barnet for 23rd. Anyone disagree?
