Good to know that, in theory, Oxford could secure safety in their next two games. I think Walsall will be ok, but Southend may drop. They've hit this run of poor form at a dreadful time.
Hopefully ourselves, Oxford, Wycombe (I'd love it if they went down, but they are local tbf), Plymouth, Walsall & Wimbledon could all stay up.

This league could turn very northern next season

Luton, Barnsley, Sunderland up, Bradford, Rochdale, Accrington and Shrewsbury down.

Ipswich, Millwall & Reading down from the Championship, Lincoln, MK, Mansfield & Colchester up

That'd be alright.

Forgot about Shrewsbury, need them up as we take decent numbers there.

Exeter coming up is a must, sorry

I'd take Exeter, but Shrewsbury is a ballache to get to.

That's a fair trade.

Well I guess that's sorted then, sorry Bradford, Rochdale, Accy & Shrewsbury. Good luck next season

Not as much as we'd love it if you went down.

A bonus would be that we wouldn't have to hear that fucking awful Irene dirge again.

I am amazed that Southend are struggling so much but I know they have had injury problems. If Cox's injury is long term, I think they may drop.

Before we appointed Lovell I wanted Chris Powell for us but it appears that Southend fans may think we dodged a bullet.

Still did the double over us though which is what is keeping their heads just above water.

I was talking about Wycombe.

I personally don't give a toss what happens to Oxford generally speaking. If anything I'd like you to stay up with us, we both take good numbers to each others grounds.

It's cute that you've clearly got some sort of hatred/rivalry for us though.

I personally have no issue with Bristol Rovers.

Wycombe going down would be pretty funny, considering they were cruising earlier this season. They're a conference club who have been cheekily playing above their station for too long.

As someone said on the Rovers forum:

Let's hope Wycombe can hold their nerve

That's not the way it read to me. It read to me that you would love it if we went down.

There are a handful of clubs that I don't mind, and quite like to see do well (although not at our expense or if we're in the same division.

There is then the majority of clubs to which I'm totally ambivalent.

There is then a sizeable minority of clubs who I really dislike, sometimes for a specific reason, but sometimes borne out of familiarity whereupon they become fucking irritating.

Bristol Rovers are in the last category.

It's pretty clear he was talking about Wycombe not Oxford.

I would also like Oxford to stay up to continue the annual 3 away points there, seems to be a decent hunting ground of late

You'd think being from Oxford, he'd be able to read it properly.

Maybe we should ask a Cambridge fan if they could work it out?

Think the bottom four will end like this

Southend
Walsall
Scunthorpe
Bradford

Can't really see us getting another point all season so may slide to bottom. Feel a bit sorry for Southend as they've been decimated by injuries. The other three teams deserve it though.

Good to get a win over a plucky Wycombe side. I don't actually mind Wycombe too much, Ainsworth has barely any money and is managing a club clearly punching above their weight in League One.

Their Keeper (Yves?) is the worst I've ever seen play in the football league. Was a sweet hit by Oxford-Legend Ruffels to secure a last minute winner. Still think the Mighty Ox need another 3 points to be sure of survival.

Getting a bit nervous about Wycombe & Accrington's games in hand.

A couple of points here & there would see us right above relegation. Although points wouldn't differ, you feel more safe when there are 5 teams between, instead of 2

OMG its so tight down there. A lot of nervous teams where almost anyone could get sucked in. I read yesterday Doncaster can still win the League or get relegated. Its nuts. Very few teams right now not fighting for points so theres gonna be some upsets and chops and changes.

Yep its tight down there.I had a look back over the last 12 seasons in league one and no team in that period has been relegated with 51 points. In that case we only need 3 wins to stay up!!! Easy lol.

I keep staring at the league table and the form guide. We're still in the mire but our current form would suggest that the great escape is on. Argh!

Kevin Bond manager till the end of the season. Harry Redknapp's number 2 pretty much everywhere he went. Not exactly inspiring but we can’t get any worse. Hopefully a new face freshens things up

You certainly need freshening up based on saturdays performance. I was dreading the game because it's exactly the type of game we would lose (to a team on a terrible run) but in the end it was a pretty comfortable win - and we are by no means world beaters. You actually made us look quite good at times when we are actually a pretty poor side this season...

Worrying that our keeper didn't have to make a save until 80 minutes - to ironic cheers from the home fans.

That was our first shot on target not only from our game against you but the one before also. We certainly need a change

your team looked totally bereft of confidence and ideas. Hoping the manager change gives you a boost and keeps you up as being an essex based exile you're my most local away game!
