Im not so sure about the job titles, but they way I look at it is Still will be managing why Hakan will be his assistant. Either way I'm happy about this news, going from Wheeler to John Still is a massive massive upgrade and a good way of getting the fans back on side....we been crying out for someone with experience for ages now.

I'd say be careful what you wish for. I'm sure he's no worse than Wheeler, but he'll be costing you a lot more and he did a fair bit of damage here this season. Loads of average players signed up on two year deals, hideous football and ineffective tactics, sub-1000 attendances, barely any chances created, eleven men behind the ball when defending set pieces - the list goes on. He had a top 3/4 budget here and largely blew it. On the plus side, though, he's generally been more effective during his career at smaller clubs with a tight budget (Luton excepted).

Am I right in saying this sounds eerily like the problems with his previous spell when you went down to the Conference for the first time? There were even people who refused to renew season tickets/attend games while he was in charge, after he was kept on following your relegation - and that was after he got you to the old Division 3 play-offs twice. Shame as he seems a lovely guy, but it never really worked out in either of his spells with you, at least in terms of getting the fans on side.

It wasn't completely similar but you're not far off.

In the least shocking news of the season, Money has stepped down as manager but we can't afford to pay him off so he's now DOF, whilst the current DOF, Craig Hignett is now first team manager.

Couldn't make this shit up.

We are like Harchester United the amount of random mad shit that goes on at our club, both said Money wouldn’t see the season out

I'd rather Hignett in charge though tbf, Money was always a diabolical choice. At least under Hignett you do get nice football and he was stabbed in the back by Coxberg in that season selling off our best players.

Yeah got no complaints with Hignett in charge, at least it means we’ll see Kioso and Hawkes starting.

Wonder what odds you’ll get on Lee Bradbury rocking up as manager next season

Still is the sort of appointment Maidstone need, he may well have enough to keep them out of trouble but its still a tall ask. He's retired about 5 times now though?!

I find it amusing that Hakan has made the step up from the bottom club, to the assistant of the second bottom club! Although he worked with Still at Luton.

Not too sure whats happening at brother Hartlepool though, they don't seem to be doing enough due dilligence on managers!!

How many matches was Money in charge for?!

Cant help but feel Mark Maguire who was the architect of Chester`s woes last season is part of the problem at Pools somehow

Hignett had 25 defeats in 52 games in his first spell so is surely just another temporary fix?

Possibly. I sometimes have a pint pre match with one of the main figures in the trust and he doesn't have any time for him at all. He comes across well but apparently doesn't listen to anyone at all except his own voice. Rumour has it that Money is Maguire's man.

As for Hignett, he was completely shafted by the previous owners so the figures are a bit misleading. Lots of dodgy stuff going on that made his job very hard. He aged in a year what Theresa May has over the last couple. I'd say he's temporary fix and as Chief says, I too wouldn't be shocked to see Bradbury in charge next year once his Havant contract is up.

Honestly, I don't think Maguire has that sort of clout at Pools, Singh took over us and pumped upwards of a million quid in and expects progress, we've gone backwards in all aspects, Money wasn't working, the fans could see it, the board could see it and even Money himself could see it, best to sever ties now before we get into another Dave Jones situation.

Gotta stabilise this season (again) next season is gonna be rough without parachute payments, hopefully we get a decent chunk off Fulham for Luca Murphy, would soften the blow a bit.

I think he has quite a bit of influence as Raj is very backseat. He delegates a lot of stuff and people report back to him.

Raj won't be around for long if there's no progress in a year's time. His statement on the official site suggests his patience is wearing thin.

Sounds very familiar this. Our fans, board and even Billy Heath himself sees that it isnt working but our chairman is such a stubborn spiteful b*****d that he wont end it.

Put the flags out Hakan the horrible has gone. Why on earth Still wants him as his number 2 baffles me, although rumour has it he makes a good cup of tea at half time!

They worked together at Luton would probably be something to do with it.
