Didn't want Mcdonald to be sacked because I felt we would just replace him with another cheap and inexperienced manager. Obviously, very happy with Money, he will be doing extremely well to keep us up.

Has Jermaine Hylton played a game for you yet? Presumably injured since he signed.

Steve Watson has been appointed Gateshead manager. Gutted to see him go. I think we'll drop down the table now. I think Watson was the key man for us.

Real shame for us, but can't stand in his way. He's been fairly open he's after a #1 job so best of luck to him. Very good communicator, and obviously has good contacts in the game so hope he does well.

Hopefully Askey can find someone similar to come in and support him again.

Gutted about Watson. Think a lot of our fans underestimate the contribution he's had and attribute everything to Askey.

I think they're just a very good team, both bringing different skills. Seem's a very approachable guy does Watson was probably the one the players would bounce things off, whilst accepting JA is the top dog.

I think more than anything Askey really needs that assistant to take some of the strain in workload terms, so vital we get someone in ASAP.

Given that a lot of our signings I think were down to Watson, this is a big loss for us. Him and Askey were a good double act and we need to replace him quickly. It might pave the way for one of our senior players to take up a management role perhaps.

Rumour has it Gateshead were after Steve Watson before Neil aspin came. Sure a well liked guy in the north east due to his part in one of the best ever Newcastle teams with so many legends

Made his debut against Ossett on Saturday. He looked bright in the first half and then faded.
When he came to us last season on a three month loan he only played around three games before tearing a hamstring. We never saw him again.
Superb on his day, they just don't seem to happen very often :(

I'll pop over to Ossett tomorrow.

Micky Moore is GONE

Yeah, I know you don't know who he is - neither do we. Shambolic appointment, but I guess it's good from the chairman to realise his mistake so quickly. Neil Hornby most likely to take over, seeing as though he only became assistant manager last week.

Listening to your Chairman on Radio Cumbria on Sunday this does not surprise me at all.

Ok i did not know mickey moore either but must be one of the worst decessions in football sacking someone 3 weeks into a 2 year contract. Must have money to burn. He was appointed from within yeah, i presume that was on form as his caretaker spell

Nah, almost certainly clauses in his contract to say he must reach the FA Cup 1st round (or something to that effect) - won't have been a big pay-out.

You might be able to help out: what's your take on Gary Mills? I would bet my house on him getting the job til the end of the season...

Mills is a dinosaur and should be filed with such fraudulent managers as Steve Burr, Ronnie Moore and Gary Brabin.

Coincidentally the four most popular choices for next boss on the Barrow forum.

I think you’ll find Burrinho had three successful months at Kidderminster.

Did well 1st season at gateshead, 2nd part of 2nd season disaster, failed to keep momentum going and signed some shite. 2 disasters since. Hes one of them veteran managers thats had numerous jobs and i guess will be in the frame when a conference job becomes available.

If myself or another O's fan isn't posting about Steve Davis getting sacked in the next 48 hours, then our new owners haven't got the bottle. That is all.

Firstly, I think Davis' position right now is probably untenable and I'm struggling to make any sort of defence really.

However, I don't want Davis to get the chop yet and I disagree about the owners showing bottle. Tonight was bad, very bad infact, the sort of performance I'd expect to see last season. I don't want him to go because we still have 29 points to play for this season and I don't think the play offs are realistic regardless, I don't want us to be getting rid of a manager at the first sign of trouble. I do fully expect us to hit form again at somepoint, with or without Davis.

But, I think there are criticisms to be levelled at him, the use of Boco absolutely frustrates me. I'm sure E10Rifle will post Davis' match statistics over the last 110 games or whatever it is at somepoint soon. I'm not one for da yoof at all, but the use of the progression of Koroma is slightly worrying me. The results over the last nine games, the early season performances even when second showed cracks. He's completely lost the fanbase from what I can tell.

On a side note if John Still or Chris Kinnear were at anypoint willing to move to Orient, scrap the above and throw all the money at it.

Do you have any money left to spend?

Not from our budget, no.

But, I would expect that if there is any real danger of us getting relegated (and I strongly believe we won't, but I said this in League One and hello York) there will be several hundred grand thrown on top of the budget to stay up at all costs. Relegation again would be absolutely disastrous.

For the record I expect Davis to be gone after Travis and Teague have their catch up, tonight was just one of those games where it feels like a change is imminent and there can be little protest if there is one.
