Absolutely delighted to see that the biggest arsehole in football has been deservedly fired from his post. He'll never manage a professional side now and it's quite funny how all the pro-Davis Crewe fans no longer say positive things about him now he's failed with a huge budget in the league below.

It was just such an odd appointment from the start. Davis is the last manager in the country that I'd trust with a decent budget. I genuinely believe he only went there for the pay off. If he wants to be a manager again, it's looking increasingly likely that he's going to have to manage a part-time side in the league below at least. Despite his ego, I genuinely believe he'll turn to scouting now. People have suggested he should go back into coaching but not many players would get on with that prick so it's for the best he stays away from the training ground if he wants to continue in football.

Best of luck O's, so glad you didn't have to suffer as long as we did. No one deserves an egotistical fraud like Davis at their club. Now get a competent manager on board and get climbing up that league table!

Another thing that has gone rapidly downhill here is the progression of the 9 youngsters we had when he took over. He seemed to destroy some of the confidence they had.

Rumours that he fell out with several of them for various reasons, which meant he he chose not to play them.

In terms of the new Head Coach, last time Travis and Teague left it to Martin Ling to appoint Stev Davis..............This time they're both apparently going to make the call along with our new CEO Danny Macklin and Matt Porter our Ex CEO and now board member.

I thoroughly expect it to be someone out of work. As much as I would like John Askey, Luke Garrard or Daryl "Quiche" McMahon I cannot see us paying silly compensation to their current clubs who would no doubt not be happy about an approach made by a club in the same league. There are also questions about whether they'd work with a Director of football.

This means we could end up with either Martin Allen or Justin Edinburgh, I wouldn't want either, both are washed up and have been appalling in their previous jobs despite success at this level in the past. I'd prefer either of the above mentioned three.

I'm not expecting much, but for me clubs like ours need to go for an experienced man who knows this league with a good track record - Like Lincoln did with Danny Cowley. There was no way he was going to tun down working for a bigger club and it paid off for Lincoln.

Tranmere were lucky they were able to get Mickey Mellon, who I still believe given time can get them out of this league.

Reminds me so much of how no Crewe fan will admit to giving Dean Ashton hell, even though for 90% of his time he was a boo boys favourite.

Like I said, I reckon he'll be back at Nantwich before the end of the season. Nice comfy position for him. Similar to how Jim Gannon is a complete disaster outside of Stockport.

You're lucky he didn't get long enough to ship out your best players to your league/local rivals just 'cos he didn't like them.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The day he was sacked at the Alex, a few parents of our former players rejoiced in the news of his departure saying he'd been the root cause of their failure to develop at Crewe.

Many years ago at Nantwich, I remember watching them play and a lad called Danny Griggs (only young) had made a couple of mistakes in a game. Davis' response was "OH GRIGGSY, YOU ARE FUCKING SHITE. LOOK WHERE YOU'RE PLAYING THE BALL NEXT TIME YOU DOPEY C***"

Now I understand some managers motivate players by giving them a bollocking, but that's far too extreme for a young player. Davis would do the same with Callum Saunders (even though he was an appalling footballer himself) in a friendly during his last season with us too. He's just far too abrasive, arrogant and full of shit to make it in management. That said, with the Dave Cooke experiment not going too well at Nantwich, Steve could well end up back there before we know it as TW has suggested...

Garry Hill will keep Orient up.
He turned them down, was gonna sign but looked at the squad and said he wouldn't be able to help them as it was the worst Orient team he'd ever seen.

I would be amazed if we approached another club about hiring their manager. We'd probably have to pay a tone in compensation out of the owners own pockets - Which I can't see happening. Plus I can't see Waddock working under a DOF.

Last I heard Justin Edinburgh was going to get it, but both parties have been unable to agree on the hiring of another coach which Edinburgh wants alongside David Kerslake.

I also head that Graham Westley and Ronnie Moore both applied as well, but the trail has gone cold since the weekend...........

We shall see.

Wouldn't worry about low odds on the lower leagues betting they mean sod all, before Bignot was appointed here Adkins was 1/3 then Cowley was 2/5.

Heard its been narrowed down to four people, final interviews to be completed this week. One of the candidates is apparently already in a job, no idea who - I'm pretty sure Gary Waddock isn't one of them though.

Andy Scott is currently already in another role and his name has been mentioned..........

We should know at the latest by next week I'd have thought, but look at how long Everton are taking!!

I'll be stunned if Waddock leaves us for Orient, why would you leave a club where you are loved and top of the league for one that is struggling in a transitional phase lower down the same league.

Your original draft from Saturday said "why would you leave a club where you are loved and seventh in the league", but you thought you'd leave it until the wee hours of Wednesday morning to post it, just in case, eh?. Come on, 'fess up.

That's a very good appointment. He should be managing at a higher level.
