Love how people seem to think we exaggerate our attendances. Nearly every club in the country includes season ticket holders automatically in any attendance figures. Don't know why people think that thousands of people would pay hundreds of pounds for a season ticket and just not turn up to most games - guess its because people like to have a pop at us at any given opportunity.

We averaged a home attendance of 10,307 last season (including away fans), meaning we had the 5th highest home attendance in L1 in 2016/17 - only Bolton, Sheffield United, Bradford and Charlton had more.

Some people say "your average attendance is only so high because you give large away allocations" which is only partially true. Only 4 clubs brought more than a standard away allocation to us last season, and taking the extra allocation away, our attendance would still have been around 9,800 - still 5th - bigger than Millwall, Bristol Rovers, Oxford etc.

We've sold just over 6,500 season tickets so far for 2017/18.

Fans didn't ask for a 30k stadium. In fact, I think most would be happy with a 15k-20k stadium, better acoustics and less empty looking. Saying that, in 30 years time, with the next couple of generations, our support will only grow.

People just assume we have shit support because it's only a third full, but 10k is decent for L1. Not many clubs in this league could fill more of it than we do if it was theirs - only Portsmouth, Blackburn, Charlton, Wigan, Bradford are the only teams I can think of that would.

People assume you have shit support because when they visit you, your support is shit and when you travel away your support is shit. FYI I am defining shit support as 1/3 full stadium generating no atmosphere other than that from a 1000db* PA system and only 5% of your fans travelling.

Not arguing with anyone - just fans of other clubs always like to find any opportunity to criticise us when it isn't completely justified. Don't know why away attendance is coming into it, thought we were talking about season ticket sales and home attendances.

One thing you forget though is that your average gate is in a nice newish stadium. When and hopefully soon we get our new ground. We cold 15K

Difference is we averaged over 9k in a shitty stadium -- I believe "when" we get our new ground we have the potential to have a 15 k average. ( as long as we,re playing well )

More demand too, but apparently they've 'effectively' stopped selling them. I've just booked my Rotherham tickets, one small block in the Milton End remaining..

The club say they don't really want to sell any more season tickets (unless it's for a special reason). Match-day tickets will be hard to come by this season - if the visitors take the full allocation there will only be around 1,000 available to home fans We need a bigger ground.

Due to printing problems ours won't be available for the start of the season, so the club are issuing paper tickets for our first home game. Doesn't sound like our end has done anything particularly wrong on this one, moreso the printing end. Hasn't stopped people using it as a club-bashing excuse though, despite the fact that a paper ticket is perfectly fine.

That being said, Pompey's figure is more impressive. Much like Pompey, there is limited room for home fans after full away allocation (2,700). Actual league capacity is around 24,300, means there's 2,300 seats available in the home end.

Can't see many teams bringing the full allocation, maybe Blackburn?

So was Bolton's and Wigan's when they came down, but then averaged 1,400+ in L1.

Needless to say, I think they'll bring a good couple of thousand to VP.

If we get off to a decent start and we near the top of the league then i reckon we'll come close to selling out Bradford if the allocation is still 2700 ish like the last time. If not then it will be a substandard 1.5k as we hardly travel well to Bradford compared to other places.

We've contacted the EFL to try and reduce away allocation so that home fans actually get a ticket! Unlikely it will happen though apparently.

We've sold 4,502 compared to 4,696 at this time last year which with the price rises is pretty reasonable. Expect it will end around 5k.
