Madness. Any bother post-match or all fine? Only thing that's been doing the rounds on social media is this - https://twitter.com/harryfox25/status/912003146645491713

Fair play to your team and manager though. It's fair to say I massively underestimated you; on paper your side looks a bag of shite but it's really working for you, you were the much better side today and deserved what you got.

Hardly any United fans went to the match, so loads were watching the game in the city centre pubs. That video is taken on London Road near Bramall Lane. Not a big deal really, looks like a Wednesday fan goading provoking trouble so someone hits him, hand bags.

I heard the SY Police ordered many of City centre pubs to close after the match.

No trouble from what I know must of been 1000 police round the city. Not sure what that video is all about

Clearly that bloke in the car was being a cock in some way, he wasn't even wearing colours so must've done something to wind them up.

No arguments, best team on the the day won, may do the double at the Lane too, but I still think we will finish above you (could easily wrong. Though I still think Leon Clarke is shit,)

Owls fans just remember we may have deservedly lost, but every Pig has its day. UTO!

Went my mate's flat in Hillsborough to watch the game with a few Wednesdayites who refused to pay the prices. We saw those Sheff Utd fans who just missed KO. They looked more interested in fighting and required about 13 police vans, a helicopter and 100 horses from six counties to escort them to the ground. I know some football fans complain about being treated as criminals but it's easy to see why when you look at this lot. They were all walking more with their arms than their legs, wearing loads of Stone Island gear. I'm aware it's probably not the norm, but no wonder the policing costs are so high.

Blades were well worth the win but Wednesday's defending was extremely poor. One of the goals the RB was playing Clarke onside and the CB think it was Von Aken was asleep. Then on another Von Aken again was very weak. He needed to get underneath Clarke but he wasn't even jostling with him. You will be able to see on the replay but it just seemed so poor to not even complete for it.

I've watched Wednesday a number of times in the two seasons now and they just seem to lack urgency and that something extra, which after two seasons of play-offs should have been addressed.

It’s the day after and I still can’t stop smiling.
This will live long in the memory.
It’s not what you do but the way you do it.
We laid down a marker and the tide is turning in the city.
Are Wednesday a spent force? they have quality but seriously lack pace playing a cautious/ patient style? Chansiri must be having sleepless nights, his investment is looking like money thrown into a bottomless pit.

Tides been in and out in Sheffield for as long as I can remember, Wednesday fans usually stay constant.
Parochial bunch that we are, it is judged on how we fare against each other, seeing as the Champions league is outta the equation in the short term.
I was raised during Uniteds Woodward/Currie etc days, so I can swallow the disappointment as well as most, I won't say it wasn't disappointing, it was galling, but thats football.
Spot on with the cautious tactical approach though Sheffsteel, its no way to play a Sheffield derby, saying stuff like "its one game in a long season"etc...is no way to approach a Sheffield derby.
Wednesday got it wrong on and off the pitch, its either going to be a wake up call for Carlos, or to use one of your tidal epithets...up a certain creek without paddle

I wouldn't say the tide is turning, far from it but something just isnt quite right at wednesday and maybe that is the managers fault, everytime i see them on tv and yesterday i can honestly say im never impressed at all, the team they have should be challenging for the title and whatever isn't right is the difference of them doing that or just getting in the playoffs.

I dunno whether they should mate...top 6 maybe..but who is stand out really...Lee at his best Bannan maybe Hooper.
Last year we got up towards the top, but it wasn't flashy, we have little pace, and I laugh when Owls fans chat "Posession"..cos most of that is in our own half, although its got us close for the last 2 years.., but clubs work you out and you have to change...We don't change, we have a plethora of players who do the same thing.
It will be interesting to see if Carlos does change his tactics, and simply goes for it like Dave Jones did, before he totally lost interest

Trust you had a good day pal, some cracking celebrations in that away end.

Last time I saw Reading win a derby game away from home (at Oxford - admittedly not on the same scale as the Steel City affair), I ended up in the cells - nothing better than getting one over.

You obviously have a far better idea than me but you have Hooper, foristieri, bannan,Rhodes,Hutchinson,Westwood,Lee. If all fit they all would get in any championship side I reckon. But like I say I've never watched you once last season or this and thought you look a good team. Looking back on yesterday's game alone I'm quite dissapointed we conceded 2 and didn't win by more, despite you having more of the ball I thought it looked so easy to defend against and so easy to attack against you're defence too. Obviously can't judge things on one game but I think if you perform the same next Sunday you're manager may be on his way. No way you should be playing cautious with that squad.

Was absolutely brilliant, 4 goals away at hillsborough when we were underdogs, especially the way it happened was superb. I've seen us win 3 times there now and yesterday definitely tops the list.

Forestieri is injured...doubt he would have made much difference, Hutchinson is injury prone and a f.ookin' liability in a game like that.
Having most of the ball means nothing, if you simply have most of the ball in your own half.
The knives are out for Carvalhal, mainly cos we lost to you lot...Its understandable, but its hardly coherent thinking, I actually thought Brentford played better at our place than you did and lost, thats not decrying your deserved win, but it was a similar game and they didn't get the breaks.
We have Reach and Hunt on the flanks, they get exposed far too easily, but in their defense, they are expected to overlap, then when it goes t*ts in oppos half, every bugger is shouting "Where are you " when it gets played in behind them, it doesn't work.
We build up too slowly, because of this, and get back to defend too slowly because of this.
Thats simply my opinion, I'm no tactician..me only shouts are "Handball" "Offside" and "Awaaaaaaay!!!" but if I can see it, it baffles me why Carlos can't

Not too much to say on top what has already been said. The better side won on the day they wanted it more, it was my dear pre match that Carlos couldn’t instil into them what it meant in the same way Wilder could and it showed on the pitch. That said any side in this league who allow Leon fuckin Clarke to dominate their 2 centre halves aren’t going to come out on top. United have their moment and they’ve waited a long time for it so I won’t begrudge them that.

On people questioning Carlos as our boss, I’ve personally been doing it since about December, we’re slow, laboured, predictable and boring and with the players at our disposal there’s no way we should’ve employing the tactics we have done since that play off final defeat. In my opinion we’re worse now than we were in that first season under Carlos and he’s spunked another £30 million since then. Those that argue against it point to our history and the fact Carlos is on paper one of our best ever managers, the fact is no other manager has had the war chest that Carlos has had so it’s not a fair comparison.

This time next week a few may be starting to agree, Birmingham away midweek who’ll probably turn us over after recently sacking their manager and Leeds at hillsborough next Sunday.

Wednesday will come good eventually, their squad is still one of the best in the league and the current manager's win rate is probably the best in the past 10 years. A slow start doesn't necessarily mean doom and gloom, it just hurts a bit more because it's Sheffield United and the manner of which it happened. I just hope the "revival" if it is to come starts after Sunday.

Totally agree. Everyone could see you needed some pace in your side this summer except apparently Carlos. Your squad is probably top 2 on paper, some proven championship promotion winners. He's a fraud.

First off United deserved that, Wilder and his players had us worked out.

You cannot start any game like we did, two down inside 15 minutes, the first a cracking free kick the second utterly woeful defending, somehow he always scores against us, we froze, they could have been 3 up without any arguments.

We get a break and make it 2-1 but even then they had chances to kill the game before we somehow level, now surely in a Derby you switch on, no we concede another arsehole of a goal, poor defending and keeping not to say that Duffy didn't take it well, he did. Meh the fourth can bollocks an all.

Fleck was decent but it was Brookes who shone for me, very very good player, no doubt he'll be sold next summer.

United were better than I expected and fair round of fucks to Wilder for that, did we make em look getter than they are? Maybe but that would be doing them a disservice.

Another classic twitter video from a Swedish neutral of Mark “The Bounce Killer” Duffy’s goal.

https://t.co/g8HcvQcNfc

Will they ever bounce again, the bouncing song brings back so many happy memories, still keep humming it. It’s those moments when time almost stands still what makes football so special. I can bask in the glory of this game for years.
