Next game coming up.

This fixture has lost its appeal over the past season or two. With Exeter's injury problems, we should hammer them 4 or 5-0, but remember this is Argyle we are talking about, and when the expectation is there, Argyle fail.

1-1 draw me thinks, with Argyle letting in a late goal

God I bloody hate this fixture.

I'll be the one pulling into Exeter St Davids with my head and arm out the first class carriage window screaming 'you chino w*nkers' whilst throwing my smoke bombs and flares all over the place. Just so that they know that I've arrived.

In all seriousness though, we can never really have a moral victory in this fixture so the sooner it's over the better. Us coming off the back of 6 straight competitive wins and Exeter's atrocious home form, everything points to 2-0 Exeter and Same Old Argyle Syndrome. I see Exeter are struggling to sell tickets and lots of room for us extra greenies in the 'Big W*nk'.

Any of the Greeks on here know which pub we've been designated yet? It's normally the Imperial or Walkbout. Hopefully it's the Imperial as then I can roll straight off the train and in!

I really hope this isn't a case of "typical Argyle" . I also hope the new signings realise this is a derby, and therefore are extra up for it unlike last season.

I am not a fan of the thread title.

We'll probably win this. Law of averages and that.

We're so bad at home it's unbelievable but this game is different to your average L2 visiting team.

There's doom and gloom all over Exeweb after another shocking start at SJP and we have some big players out injured. However, I am keeping everything crossed that both Lee Holmes and David Wheeler may make the bench, which would be a massive boost.

Jack Stacey has had two impressive games so far so am looking forward to see him this weekend plus Ollie Watkins seems to have built up a bit of confidence following his goal at Colchester.

Argyle are on great form but haven't been smashing teams, so it's by no means a foregone conclusion that they'll pick up three points however we have got to press from the off. If we don't I can see Carey and Tanner tearing us a new one.

Still if we lose then we can really turn up the pressure on Tisdale, not that it will make much difference.

I think 1-1 is a fair shout for this one. Poor crowd of around 6500.

we dont stand a chance here. we're generally playing badly and i can't see us turning up this year due to low morale.

our center midfield is pretty powderpuff, which is saying something for a Tisdale team....

0 - 4 to the slime.

Will the 15 year old lad be playing? We've got a 6"2 striker on loan from Brizzle City called Garita, big powerhouse who bullys big league 2 centre backs. Could be an interesting battle

Doubt he will to be honest. He's gone back to school so wouldn't have had the match preperation during the week.

Not that there would be any worries if we were to play him. He's already dealt with far better players than the one you mention.

Can't believe Reuben has signed for City, fair play. It was rumoured Derek offered him lower terms due to his problems, but they must have been really derisory if City's offer can tempt him over it. I do hope the Trust aren't breaking the bank and we end up shaking our charity pots for you again!

Makes Saturday's game a little more interesting. He will 100% play a part, how much of a part is the question. I'm predicting we are 1-0 up he comes on at HT and scores a double for 2-1 City FT. That would be so typical.

Can't imagine we are paying him big bucks as Tisdale said we'd maxed our budget a few weeks back yet we've signed three players since then!

I expect he will come off the bench, especially if we are behind in 2nd half. Would love him to score the winner, it would probably top both victories from last season.

I assume that the offer we made Rueben was a lot less than he was previously on and he not unreasonably rejected it. He then not unreasonably assumed a better deal was out there. However, it seems that this has not been the case. I would not be at all surprised if his basic at Exeter is less than the offer we made. I would also assume that it would be heavily weighted to playing and performance, and if he is a success he gets more money. I think this is a good deal for both Rueben and Exeter. He gets a shopping window and Exeter get the potential for a goal scorer they have not had for a while. It may not work out, but I can understand why it has happened.

I wish the guy well, other than on Saturday, he has been a good servant to Argyle and has shown glimpses of class (at this level).

Even if not fit I would expect Tisdale to put him on the bench, psychologically it would act as a distraction.

A source close to Reuben has already confirmed that the deal Exeter have given Reid is considerably more than the apparently 'derisory' offer we made to retain him, and listening to Tisdale/reading between the lines in this article http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37375373 it's pretty obvious Exeter have gone all out and broke the bank to sign him. It may prove to be a gamble worth taking if they can keep him fit, it'd be a pretty big millstone round Citys necks if they don't though, they might need him to avoid a relegation dogfight the way their seasons going so far

I wouldn't say we've 'broken the bank' to get him but just stretched ourselves more than usual. It is unlike us though to stump up to get a proven striker and I expect Reid will be one of our highest earners. It is a gamble, but one well worth taking as we couldn't have expected Simpson or McAlinden to score 15 plus.

As for Saturday, Reid will be on the bench I'm sure and as Boletus says, psychologically it will be a boost for us at the very least.

Can't wait for Saturday now...

We generally pay bad.

Us "stretching the bank" is hardly dishing out the solid gold paychecks.

I am sure I read somewhere that your playing budget is around £1.5 million annually, which presumably includes salaries, bonuses and tax/pension. I am guessing, and it is only a guess, that at this level a 20 a goal season striker may be on around 100k a year. Not saying this is what you are paying Reid (I have absolutely no idea), suspect it is less, but it may help to put into context what financially he means for you. If he stays fit it will be money well-spent, otherwise it is probably a headache without being a disaster.

Fuck off Tisdale. Shit performance and Argyle are by far the better team. The big unit up front is causing all sorts of problems.

Simpson missed a sitter (again) and we've not had one decent attempt on target. Reid has to come on now but the damage has already been done.

Oh, and a question for Orient fans...Did Lloyd James take corners for you cos I've never seen someone be so good at chipping the ball straight to the keeper each and every time.

Exeter were sloppy and very poor. We were organised and solid, deserved all 3 points. Seven wins on the trot!

I think poor is an understatement!

We were utterly useless and devoid of any ideas whatsoever. All Argyle had to do was to keep shape and discipline and the game was in the bag. We could be still playing now and we'd still have no goals.

To be fair, Argyle should be going up as they look decent, as much as it pains me to say.

Fuck off football....

His corners for us weren't that great, we scored more from set pieces when Cox took them.

Glad it's not just for us, then.

He had a really poor game yesterday, just didn't offer anything creative and was easily passed by without the ball too.

I was quite pleased when we signed him but he's done very little to win over the fans so far. I don't think it helps that he's paired with Harley, who is about as powderpuff as you can get. If we have space on the ball we will do fine, but all teams need to do is to hassle us and be aggressive and we just wilt and die.

We look solid, organised and clinical at the moment, every player knows what job they have to do and improving game by game. Promising signs, not getting carried away after last season though!

Carey injury not serious and awaiting news on Garita's hamstring. He was class on Saturday before being taken off, an absolute pest and more physically capable than 90% defenders at this level.

Talking of physically (in)capable, has Reuben Reid managed to climb back out of Sonny Bradley's pocket yet? I don't mean to dampen the only slightly positive bit of news coming out of St Aimless at the moment (yes I do), but if you think you're signing the 20 goal a season striker of a couple years back, I have a feeling you'll be in for a bit of a shock.
