Shite record at St. Andrews in recent years but fancy us to get something here as our away performances were massively improved when we switched to 4-4-2 at the back end of last season.

Fielding
Pisano Wright Baker Bryan
Eliasson Brownhill Pack Paterson
Reid Diedhiou
Don't think there's a need for Smith in the side as Pack did what he usually does on Saturday, looked so fit and energetic. Get Brownhill back in the middle and let's have a look at Eliasson.

SHA 1-2 Bristol City (Gardner 23') (Reid 57', Diedhiou 89')

how long until JJH has had enough?
Tomorrow night when we lose to Plymouth I expect.

Don't get me wrong I think Brum will have a decent year but it's a good time to be playing them, they're still 3/4 quality signings away from where they will be according to Redknapp.

Eliasson is a left winger isn't he? I'd expect Pato to move over to the right.

Joe Bryan double hattrick :animatedf:

Much more optimistic about this game then I was this time last week, mainly because of Birmingham's result rather than ours. However, I still feel we will struggle to get 3 points from this one due to the fact Che Adams exists. I reckon we will go with what JJH put above but instead of Brownhill Johnson will put Smith in. Hopefully by the time this game rolls around Niclias Eliasson will be a Bristol City player, if not Brownhill will play instead of him.

Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City
Che Adams and Bobby Reid with the goals.

Bristol City looked decent first half, but found our new keeper in top form. Second half we moved into the game and ran out deserved winners in the end.

Nice to kick the home campaign off with a win after the disappointment last weekend.

I can imagine how giddy JJH must have got when they went 0-1 up

Not the end of the world, sounded like we didn't play too bad, and could have gone either way. Need a positive result Tuesday so the confidence doesn't take an early knock. Our away form under LJ is worrying though.

I thought we played pretty well overall. We certainly looked a better side than in my last away day (Burton last year, even though we won it!) We actually seem to have a style of play this year. Diedhou and Reid caused them no end of problems and we should have been a couple up by half time, but fair play to old Arry, he rang the changes to counter us and Brum probably just about deserved it in the end.

I think this is going to be another frustrating season where we end up on the end of a lot of narrow away losses. Johnson is just too naive tactically and we lack that little bit of nastiness in midfield that teams like Brum possess. If we were a bit more streetwise, that would have been 3 points for sure. But I've seen enough over the last two games to believe we won't go down. There are surely 3 worse sides than us.

Keef's red card rescinded, thought it looked a very harsh descision indeed at the time, happily never ended up costing us.
