So how does Stheve Mclaren continue to get decent level jobs in this business?

Macca's alright given the right time and resources. Has he had a fair crack at QPR yet? I don't think so.

He turned a squad of Nigel Clough's triers into a fluid squad of pisstakers that were a few defensive mistakes away from the PL, no fraud for me. Not the best in the business but certainly far from the worst.

Paul Jewell is a far better manager, and nobody gives him a chance. A travesty!

Schteeve is my favourite manager.Post match interviews, inevitably defeats, are pure comedy gold. Well done to QPR for keeping this tradition alive. Been searching for post match v West Brom all, over the Internet. Would appreciate if someone could supply a link ?

I think he will do well for us. In the summer, we lost our best player in Smithies, lost our player of the season in Jack Robinson and lost our club captain in Nedum Onouha. We replaced all of those with just Leinster from Bundesliga 2. Ingram in goal doesn't look like he is anywhere near good enough and I am not convinced that Lumley will be either.

In the summer, I was hoping we would get a few more players and we could have an outside chance of the play offs as we have some talented youngsters in our team. But we did't get anyone in and I do not think that we would do much better with anyone else.

We will come good, I believe we will get 2 or 3 loan signings in to strengthen our team and we really need it. Problem is, most loan signings are youngsters so it will have to be something special to get what we really need. Maybe that result will actually work in our favour and make the owners realise we do need to spend a bit of money to be safe.

There's being positive and then there's this!

Crazy he keeps getting jobs. Useless manager, always has been.

You don’t get season tickets thrown at your head for being decent.

Had two spells at Derby when they had a good squad and throwing cash around and failed.

Can’t think of a single success he’s had in this country.

I think you’ve either misunderstood the meaning of novice or rate Owen Coyle far too highly.

Don't think that's fair Bobbin', took a midtable squad almost all the way. Only made a few loans. Bought Thorne, Christie and Shotton for a combined 3m the following summer. Compared to every other manager here he's had fuck all to spend.

His first spell was the best football I've ever seen us play. Who cares about going up when it's that enjoyable? Unfortunately for us he wanted out for the Toon. I'd say his first spell with us was a success. Didn't do too badly at Boro really.

The board of directors that employed him and the players that he managed.

Ultimately, his objective would have been to get Derby promoted. The style of football he had you playing may have been attractive but it was unsuccessful and you didn't even make the play-offs in his second season. He came back and had another crack soon after (as his spell with Newcastle was a complete failure) with another squad of players expected to be promoted and failed again.

That's too black and white for me mate but loads of fans will share that opinion, the board will too no doubt. If we have a good year with something to play for at the business end (which we did in all his seasons) I'm happy. It doesn't come down to a fine line like that for me, otherwise I've seen one successful season in the 15 years I've been regularly going. I definitely don't feel like I've watched 14 seasons of failure! There's been some decent stuff mixed in there.

With the bottom bit, not quite sure he was expected to be promoted having took over mid October, 2 points above the relegation zone! The only reason Rowett had an outside shot at the play offs when he took over was because of a freak run of wins we had when Macca first arrived, we shouldn't have been anywhere near. I still don't think he deserved to be sacked, he deserved a summer to get his own squad together.

Think you're being harsh on his time here. He clearly failed at Forest, Newcastle and looks that way at QPR but his time here was good. Really good.

He's finally been given backing by the board with our two loan signings today. Add a CB and he'll have very little excuse left if we don't improve quickly.

I think he'll get through this current spell, but will be out by Christmas.

I was excited by him joining us when we got rid of Holloway. I thought he would have had backing and got some good players in to go with the youth that is coming through.

That didn't happen and as said above, you cannot lose 3 of your best players from a defensive POV and then expect to do well; especially when you think we had 7 clean sheets with those 3 good players!

I think he will have time to turn it around and I really hope he does. Having said that, he has already set the record for biggest ever loss and most back to back defeats at the start of the season.

Lets see what Hemed and Wells can bring. Not sure how he will play them, I think we are set up for a diamond shaped midfield with 2 up top, Eze just behind with Freeman, Luongo in the middle and Scowen holding.

Now ive said that, he'll probably start Washington as a loan striker against Wigan.

But it is black and white.

Playing nice and fancy football, having a little flirt with the play-offs should be considered successful for the likes of Rotherham, Millwall etc in this division. Derby have higher aspirations than that and did have then too.

To miss out on the play-offs entirely after having spent most of the season in and around the top two is an incredible failure.

We’ll have to agree to disagree but I don’t rate him as a manager. He’s a coach, nothing more.

Aye, looks like we will.

I'm sure most don't rate him but he'll be fondly remembered at Derby by a large section of our support for his time here, regardless of what he did before and after.

Seems to be turning it around. A couple of very good performances. We could and probably should have beat Birmingham as well but 10 points from 12 and 3 of those had clean sheets, plus still in the cup means things are going the right away for us and him.

He signed a new contract with us at the start of the season, which was great news. Can't believe Millwall let him go, it wasn't even like we poached him.
