In recent years we've come top of the organic league, operating on a fair playing field without the use of petrol money or shady Russian gangsters. Sell players to buy players. Operating within our means. Once this stadium is up and running we will no longer have to sell players and will become a legitimate top European contender.

Thoughts?

The Emirates project was all about swindling more money out of unsuspecting Gooner fans. Spurs is a club run by the fans for the fans. We are in no way similar.

Can you detail how you're a "club run by the fans for the fans"?

Do you expect the lads dismantling the old girl to work for free? I believe that to be very good value for a piece of history.

Can't see Spurs ever becoming a 'European contender' tbh. Pochettino has your side peaked just now and it may result in a title shot again over the next year or two, but as for Europe, I can't see Spurs every truly competing against the big boys later in the competitions.

Liverpool will be left behind, face the reality of the situation. It's about revenue, we will eclipse theirs all ends up when our new stadium is built. They went for sentiment over business. Redeveloped Anfield to add about 12 seats when instead they could've took the plunge and built a state of the art stadia like us.

Your stadium costs, what 800 mill? How long will that take to pay off, and how much will Levy tighten the purse strings and wages when during that time? The Main Stand at Anfield is already practically paid off and is generating £25 mill extra per year and commercially Liverpool are ahead of Spurs and will probably continue to be so down the years. We'll be fine my friend. ;)

I'd agree that Tottenham are ahead of the game in terms of player development, "organic growth" rather than buying the league like the Manchester clubs are trying. Enough for Spurs to win trophies? I'd like to think so, this current Spurs side are too good not to win something, Pochettino deserves something if there is any justice. He is a highly talented, and perhaps underrated, manager. A league cup or FA cup this season would mean more than top four. We should go all out for that, it would put the cherry on the cake as far as I'm concerned.
Whatever, we have to keep hold of Poch to take us to the new WHL, if we can make the new stadium like the old one last season we will have a shout as champions. COYS.

Spurs have to win something before Pottechino gets poached by a big European side. Then Spurs will revert to 6th or 7th again. He's the difference between them being good and them challenging the top 4.

Possibly true, but I strongly suspect Levy is way ahead of the game there, lets face it he has done a brilliant job with the club so far. Anyone can spunk away money blindly, but it takes a man of intelligence to invest it. Great manager, great players, great stadium (coming soon), I think Levy can deliver. Would I check my fingers after shaking his hand? Yes. Would I trust him to take an "also ran" London club to the highest heights? Yes. Levy and Poch are a formidable team, and I'm not so sure Poch would want to "buy" a team, it is not what he is about. Anyhoo, come on you Spurs!:bg:

Who are the other two or three teams who will be above them though? Liverpool are Liverpool and Arsenal are in terminal decline as long as Wenger and Kroenke stay at the top.

Well Arsenal have won the cup 3 times in 4 years so whilst their league record isn't good (still finished about Spurs in the main) they are winning something which actually keeps Wenger in the job.

Do think its about time Liverpool and Spurs to a lesser extent start doing the same.

Man U's great success started with an FA Cup win all those years ago....

Both generally finished above Spurs before Pottechino arrived and I imagine it'll go back to this once he's gone.

He's a great coach, the best at improving players in the league at the moment. The Spurs side is very good but player for player no one could argue they are better than Chelsea, Man U and Man City. If he went there would be a mass exodus of Spurs' best players which would drop their quality behind Liverpool and Arsenal again.

In order to break that they need to prove they are a major player by winning something, even the League Cup would be a start.

Those clubs you mention just have individuals whereas we've got a balanced squad that operate as a team. The squad is still young too. We will dominate for years & years. This so reminds me of the United team just before they won the treble. History is ours, COYS

Mauricio Pochettino’s performance is exemplary :bow:I have great respect for him. It is refreshing to see an English team put faith in youth. Now they must keep this unit together.

Spurs achievement is great even still without a title. But it can be hard to keep their key players in the next two or three years unless they are taken over by some super rich like city or psg. If they can keep doing it this way and win the league or cl, it will be seen as a success for football against money.
