Two transfer windows.

You won't get into the Premier League in the next 10 years or probably ever.

We signed 7;

Shay Facey from Man City.
Alex Cairns from Chesterfield.
Chris Dawson from Leeds.
Aimen Belaid from Levski Sofia.
Lucciano Becchio from some Argentinian side.
Chris Burke from Forest.
Andrew Shinnie from Birmingham.

That's called noticing your weakness' and doing something about em.

Bloody Becchio, you'd kill for a player of that quality wunt you.

How is Becchio getting on these days?

Wouldn't bother mate he won't reappear till Rotherham win a couple and maybe not even then if they're on their way down.

You can save that quote, and so many more like it for the end of the season when SERNWA inevitably makes himself look like a prick time and time again.

For anyone interested, I wrote this - http://jjhuk.blogspot.co.uk/

I appreciate feedback, even if it's tearing it to shreds, it's a learning curve.

Cheers.

Club statement announcing Keith Burt has left the club today.

Get in, now just Jon Lansdown to follow.

Get some competent people in the right places who can direct this football club to where it wants to be, Ashton has done a grand job seemingly since hopping on-board.

Thinking Jon Lansdown will be out of the club any time soon  Whether or not he's good for the club is debatable however pretty much guarantee he won't be leaving anytime soon unless Steve really thinks his son is awful, at which point he'll be moved somewhere else.

I would imagine JL leaving would signal the end for SL too. Can't we find him a job where he can't do any damage? Once his old man gets too old, we will be relying on JL to keep the support going won't we?

Exactly. Getting rid of Jon would probably come back to bite us on the ass. I don't think anyone knows the true ins and outs of his job anyway so to wish him out is strange in my opinion. At least with Burt we knew his job role specifically came under player identification and recruitment, something we failed at spectacularly in the summer.

Off topic but general City chat, OTIB already starting to annoy me again. Fans starting to talk about signing players for £4/5m on multiple transfers, pretty much ignoring what happened last summer by the seems of it. I get we need to improve the squad but we will need a good 6 players or so at least really, how much do fans really think we can spend and get away with?

If Lansdown reckons he can give out these wages to the players with the revenue generated from the stadium now and comply with FFP then go for it. The reason these players didn't join us is because of the money offered - simple as that, if we offer the money they'll come here.

First we need to stay up, we're by no means safe yet. If we do survive, I think we'll get Tomlin and Odemwingie in permanently and look to bring in a couple of big money players in vital positions. We're going to need at least a couple of centre halves, a right back, a central midfielder or two depending on whether Korey Smith gets nabbed and vitally a striker.

We'll see anyway, I don't want to discuss this in-depth until we're confirmed safe because I feel it'll come back to bite me/us on the arse.

Fans expectations were raised by SL making those bids. It's his fault.

If I was him and had the wealth he has, and really meant what I said about wanting PL football, I'd go all out for the PL. If Bournemouth can do it, Bristol City can.

He wanted us to be self-sustainable. Well, with the new stadium/facilities and the PL TV money, he's got a match made in heaven if he's willing to sacrifice a bit of his personal wealth.

Unless we get a sponsorship from somewhere or something, can't owners only put in a small amount to contribute towards clubs losses ie help out with transfers?

Not how I understand it. I thought the FFP / SCMP thing was only to do with wages but stand to be corrected.
As for the owner only being able to put a certain amount in, isn't that one of the reasons for Bristol Sport?

Pretty sure there are ways around it, Bournemouth or QPR spent and got away with it. Especially with Bristol Sport.
