I love peoples Wikipedia pages that were clearly written by themselves, their agent or a family member/friend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Cotterill

The giveaway was the line "Even when Steve was a small lad, he would say "Mummy, I want to support Birmingham City. Can I unload the copper and brass from the van after I have done my receivership homework?"

El Guapo, some bloke.
Perpetually trawling through my message history even when I’ve been away on holiday for the last three weeks. Completely and utterly infatuated by El Guapo, forever and ever running through your mind. Would it brighten your day if I gave you a follow on Twitter?

That quote you fished out obviously applied at the time but doesn’t now. Times can change. Same instance when you all hero-worshipped Lee Johnson last year before turning on him midway through last season. And now that you’ve won a few matches, the pitch-forks have now been put away.

"Been on holiday for the last three weeks" translates to "avoiding the forum because Birmingham City are shite again this season.

This still stems back to the Rowett sacking and it's incredible you still try and defend it. Anyway, I was speaking to a new fella at work this morning who happens to be a City fan and he was saying that he thought Redknapp would do well at Brum which cast my mind back to your comment, so thought it was a good time to dig it up.

Keep right on!

I did not have the time or desire to log-in even after we beat Sheffield Wednesday and drew away at Derby, so what’s your point?

I appreciate him getting us promoted and the JPT but I never really warmed to him.

Part of me hopes he fails there to prove wrong some of the old codgers on OTIB who see him as some sort of god because he’s essentially a passion merchant.

Weren't you bottom of League 1 when he took over, and got promoted as Champions the following year?

Yeah, he’s good in L1. He was also well backed at that level and essentially able to cherry pick the best players in the league.

He did a great job when he came and proved much of the fan base wrong, think there was a poll when he took over and something like 60% didn't want him when he was rumoured to be getting the job, as bcfcbiltong said though he was allowed to basically selected a league 1 fantasy team for his summer signings. Selling Baldock then covered the fees for all the players.

He wasn't my ideal nor first choice for Blues.
I did respect him however for the immediate effect he had in the 3 matches at the end of last seaon...that kept Blues up, ~ ~because I knew that Harry R. did the media and just took recommendations and reports from his coaching staff. Then allowed the credit to wash over him. :£

Steve C. got very emotional yesterday when recounting the reception after the match with Bristol C ...from the players and the fans he met.He thought it would be nods but turned out to be hugs and handshakes from a team and fans that had just lost... and helped Blues stay up.
Like Lee Clark (an ex ) he is passionate about football, but obviously he has a footie-brain, whereas Lee C. doesn't actually have a brain.

We face Millwall tomorrow, who are going through a mini-dip at the mo.... so after THRASHING Cardiff 1-0 .... :bg1: ... it's a difficult game to call.

A true test of his ability to organise, inspire and produce, will obviously come when the vile visit St Andrews at the end of the month.

:eyes:

Sunderland are a mess, if Grayson can't succeed there then Cotterill would have no chance.

Birmingham will do absolutely fuck all under him, you can quote me on that in a year's time.

Or 6 months....

Shame, Birmingham are a good club. And certainly the fans don't deserve to see this kind of a slide. They could drop out of the football league at this rate

It baffles me why inept managers like a Cotterill keep getting chances, yet master tacticians like Jewell just can’t get work. :dk:

It really is baffling!!!111!!! :lol::lol::lol::10::10::fl::fl::fl:

If they go down, hope we can get Jota back. They can keep Dean and Colin.

Yeah right, he'd probably still be on about 30 grand in L1

Always said I didn't want us to sign Jota. An unbelievable talent but there's not a chance I'd be spending £6m on someone that doesn't even want to be in the country.

After the crap they've had with owners part of me thinks they'd actually benefit from an almost complete reset, bit like Portsmouth, or Wolves in the 80s. Obviously without the closeness to ceasing to exist.

But a clean slate with no dodgy owners or bizarre management decisions or transfers.
