Got my results back and I will be graduating with a first in History. Well happy because it means I get a better bursary for teacher training.

It was tight though. At Hallam, if you're on the 2:1/first boundary you require at least 68.05 per cent overall and firsts in 60 credits to gain the next degree class. I got 68.4 per cent overall and exactly 60 credits after gaining a first on my dissertation. Such a great feeling because I just missed out in History and English at A-level.

Not enjoying P/T work now, feel like it's hardly worth giving up my time for the pittance of £6.50 per hour. Still, at least now I am finally in a position to launch my assault against the bastards (sorry, bastions!!) of capitalism.

Nailed a 2:1 for first year which I'm fairly happy with as I know I can do a lot better than that.

Private accommodation sorted for next year for just £72 a week without bills which is excellent. Everything's coming up Millhouse.

Graduated with a 2:1 in Law, managed to get all my modules across 3 years at 2:1 level which is pretty decent as some grad schemes are getting more and more arsey about having inconsistent modules.

Got a grad job interview on Thursday so fingers crossed I get it so my parents can get off my back lol.

I aye got a clue about whatever 12:244 or whatever, but I passed everything first try in my first year which I am very happy about. Only downside is the percentages themselves even though they were passes (average was about 56%), I know I am capable of a lot better. Maybe my standards are high because I don't know much about university grading, or maybe I am just underachieving.

Wouldn't really worry about 1st year too much. 56% at first year is a pretty solid grade considering in a way university essays and grading is a culture shock compared to the GCSEs/A Levels. Your course should have a marking guide/criteria on blackboard or something like that though mate. If they don't, I'd definitely ask.

First month of graduated life has been pretty tough, especially when you have no clue of what career path you wanna follow.

Just got my first assignment back and managed to fluke my way to a 71.

Considering I've been out of education for a good few years and every University apart from Salford rejected my application outright, I am absolutely buzzing with that.

Edit: just looked back a bit in this thread and I'm hearing a sports journalism foundation year. I'm doing almost the opposite I guess, which is a civil engineering degree. For some similarity, my project this year is to design a sports facility, and I currently regret not making that an opportunity to build a hypothetical new stadium for Salford City. I know someone on my course who flunked his A-levels but having been pushed at Salford did very well for himself. Simply following instruction and putting full-time hours into it seems to pay off. I've become very fond of the university too in spite of campus being a miserable building site.

The foundation sports journalism course was at UCLan but they rejected my Ass and told me I needed to go on an access course. That would have meant 5 years studying just to get my undergraduate degree and I would have been over 30 once I had graduated.

I am just doing a more general Journalism Broadcast course but no foundation year needed. I was feeling a bit out of my depth and definitely felt I could have done better with my conclusion on this essay so to get a "1st" on it was a surprise.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, at the start of the year I hated the course I was on (Architecture). Transferred to History & European Studies, took 9 months out, did about 45 hours a week at work and travelled Europe a little. Transferring is without a doubt the best decision I've ever made.

The 9 months were dull as anything, but financially it had been a godsend as I maxed out my overdraft by Christmas last year. I've also been able to transfer to a Nottingham store and the weekly pay means budgeting has been ridiculously easy (I do 25 hours a week). Managed 3 4/5 day trips abroad, and am averaging a high 2:1 so far this year. People on the European Studies (there's 14 of us, 7 erasmus) part of the module are so unbelievably sound/like minded as well which I never felt in Architecture.

Only problem is I can see myself wearing myself thin next term with a lot more deadlines, as at the moment I've juggled social/work/uni life pretty well and been able to structure my trips so I've missed 2 lectures all year.

Nice one anyway, chief. With me it's a race against time too as I'm also a slightly mature student. Like, a year in industry is very tempting, especially as it would give me money for once, but do I want to graduate aged 26 or 27?

I'm currently designing a racquet sports centre. Nice enough fun anyway, but designing football stadia would be a nice dream, well, non-arenas anyway. How privileged would you feel to have a set of fans calling your set of fans wankers from underneath a terrace you made yourself?

I'm no longer a student decided to drop out of my masters due a few reasons, one of which all the jobs I see want people to have a masters in performance analysis, so found myself a job in a warehouse and plan is to work for 18 months and do a masters Sep 2017.

Strongly debating doing a Graduate Diploma in Economics at Birkbeck next year. Been looking into social policy research and a wide range of the really interesting jobs require a grasp of economics and I also would like to be more economically knowledgeable. Doing it at Birkbeck means I could fit it around a 9-5 job. Additionally I could then be called:

Mr Llama BA, GDip, MSc, AKC.
