Perhaps I should have said illegal, have a read of this to find out about their somewhat chequered history:

https://www.icrwhale.org/eng/history.pdf

Personally I am really uncomfortable with them being associated in any way with our club, protest is one thing but shooting at Police officers is something completely different (1986 in the Faeroe Islands).
Yeah, I'm actively pro direct action, even illegal, in a lot of circumstances but what I read of them sounded like a bit of a loon ego effort.

Jesus - I completely see your point.

This group are not cuddly environmentalists...they have a history that is completely different, regardless of the image that they portray today. I think that a lot of our fans are ignorant of what they have done to promote their views, perhaps they would take a slightly different view if they knew the truth...given Dale's stance I am surprised, and a little disappointed, that he has anything to do with them.

Vale briefly tweeted this!

Assume a bit of banter with FGR? Unless a wild third kit choice!

I take it you also keep well clear of watching FGR's home games at TNL then, seeing that the Sea Shepherd's logo is plastered all over the ground.

Frankly, I'm disappointed that you chose to post a link to a pdf that makes it perfectly clear from the outset (the big giveaway is the piece's title) that it's not going to be a balanced neutral analysis of the whole organisation's modus operandi throughout the years.

As for the supposed 'shooting on the police' incident, who says so? The local police force? As if police forces all over the globe have never lied to us. The Shepherd's activists said at the time that it was actually the other way round, and they were the ones fired on. IIRC, the BBC did produce a doc back in '86 on this particular incident and the whole whaling industry in the Faroes, though I'm afraid I can't recall what was the exact title of the doc.

I'll just leave this here (it's off Wiki) - In a hunt known as the Grindadráp, islanders drive pilot whales ashore and kill them with knives. Would I blame animal activists if and when they overstep the mark sometimes? Not really tbh.

@Vianni - I am totally opposed to whaling, I just want to make that clear, however it might be conducted...but I am also completely against shooting at the Police, when anyone does that they have probably lost the moral argument.

Back on topic, here's my updated table -

Home shirts table

Top 7 - Bradford, Cambridge, Grimsby
Outside chance of play offs - Plymouth
Mid table - Carlisle, Cheltenham, Exeter, Swindon
Lower mid - Crewe, Mansfield, Oldham, Walsall
Bottom four - FGR, L'Orient, Morecambe, Stevenage

Crewe move to lower mid, while FGR and Boro go straight into the bottom 4. Still plenty of time left for L'Orient to move out of trouble and the likes of Plymouth and Swindon to make the top 7, but it's almost a given that Morecambe, Boro and FGR won't be going anywhere soon.

Greenacres, fair enough. What you choose to believe is entirely up to you, but I do get your point even though I don't see it that way. I'm going to stop now before we both get a telling off for derailing the thread

Our new kit was worn by the academy last night, might be hard to make out the numbers from a distance judging by this.

Here's Salford's new training shirt, er sorry, 3rd shirt. I guess their away shirt will be white then as otherwise they wouldn't have gone for a third kit, which obvs will only be paraded at Exeter and Cheltenham.

In other Salford/The Evil (™) related news, they did have the cheek to ask their fans to vote on the new home shirt's design. I hear it took the club a whole 2 mins to tally up the votes.

Why didn't they phone him up and ask him?

I voted. I even expressed my views to them on which shirts I thought best in keeping Manchester United's heritage

Anyone used to do the thing at school with kappa's logo where you cover the top half up and er... Well just look.

Our kits will be released at the weekend, but we've announced today that we're not going to have stripes at home this season...

Are you keeping your awesome away shirt from last season?

Assuming it goes as normal, we'll have two new kits and that one will become the third shirt this year.

Crawley released their new kits this morning, and I think Errea has done a fine job on them:

We have had some pretty decent training gear. I often buy that, as opposed to the official shirts.

Ours looks mint this year (literally as the training gear is Black and Mint Green!) Errea have done us some good stuff to be fair, glad to be back with them!

We've had Adidas and Puma recently so the training stuff is usually (as expected) top notch.

Our sponsor is 'imagine cruising' so It's good to be able to get some sportswear with the club badge and no sponsor on it! :)
