To be honest I didnt really Cech, but I didn't see a dedicated place to discuss goalkeepers and I didn't want to be Forster put it somewhere it would be Lossl to the annals of time.

All serious talk about the boys between the sticks goes De Gea, please don't talk Borucs.

Who's your Pickford the best goalkeeper in the league and who is just Popeless? Is he really good enough to Karius to the top of the table or is it just a patch of good Vorm?

G.B just post a list of save percentage and there's no need for a discussion right

Ps. Morata is now at 132 minutes per goal. Salah's on 97. Will keep you posted.

What I wanted to say before I got distracted was that Ederson has been brilliant. When he arrived people were almost willing him to replicate Claudio Bravo and be shaky at best. But he's been almost without fault all season.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Saw this and thought I had to shamelessly nick it, as it's interesting.

Lloris compares pretty well in both categories, Ederson and De Gea at the extremes.
Joe Hart...

It's fairly accurate for how you'd rate the PL goalkeepers as well, to be fair. Well, unless you're Saltire.

Hmmmmm. I wonder how that is worked out as I'm genuinely surprised Karius is that far to the right. His distribution is shite.

Never saw the quick throw out to Ox in the build up to one of our goals the other day then.

Good start there for Karius and thats only a small sample size too considering the amount of games he's gotten in comparison to the others. Up and up he'll go now he's the main man and is working well with the defense now.

That's akin to claiming a shit striker must be great because he scored a decent looking goal. Be serious.

If he didn't play the way Klopp wants him to play we'd still have Mignolet in goal or Ward by now. You go on about how brilliant Salah has been but he was given a chance to prove himself in the league once again after Chelsea letting him go. Give Karius a chance at least till the end of the season. He's getting better every game and looking potentially our long term keeper even more so with his performances lately.

I think from Klopp's perspective it's the lesser of two evils at the moment. I suspect we will see an attempt to improve things between the sticks this coming summer.

And the comparison between Salah and Karius is bizarre to say the least

Karius is now being given a chance without bothering if he'll get a game and is clearly improving. If you can't see that then you need yer eyes tested. ;)

You are comparing a goalkeeper that we very likely, to say the least, will have to replace with what looks like one of our best signings in decades. Don't.

No I'm not, I'm saying Salah was given a chance to come back to the PL despite all the naysayers saying he'd flop again, and all I'm asking is for our number 1 keeper to be also given a chance to show his metal now he has been told he is the main man.

Looks like we've dropped any potential interest in Allison according to Paul Joyce so it looks like Karius may be our long-term keeper right enough as I predicted. Let's get behind him rather than on his back for once.

You're taking a player who made 13 appearances in 2 years at a club renowned for buying players then not using them and attempting to make out he was a flop and that we went against the grain when we bought him. And that is despite the quality he'd shown in the mean time at Roma. It's stupid.

And like I predicted, one of Klopp's issues is a potential to allow his stubbornness get in the way of what is best for the club. In short, if we don't increase the quality between the sticks, we won't push on. Simple.

After a somewhat shaky first season last year I think Karius still needs to prove to Klopp that he's good enough to be the # 1 keeper . Looks like he'll get a good run of games until the end of the season to convince .
So far I think he's done well enough , seems to be more settled , looks more confident than we saw last season and perhaps the arrival of VVD has helped with that . Migs is defo on the way out this summer so it's pretty much assured a new keeper will come in . The only question is will he be a new # 1 or a back up . Much will depend on what Karius shows in the next few months.

This is just wrong.

Also of our two Mignolet is the one with noticeably atrocious distribution.

It's not wrong, I've watched Karius numerous times and he's yet to impress me with his distribution ability and always looks shit scared on the ball. And Mignolet's distribution being worse doesn't stop Karius's being shite. Both our keepers fall well short of the required quality, but I'd agree that Mignolet more so.

Anyway, we disagree but you're guaranteed a like when the resident Scot makes an appearance.

:ffs:

As for his distribution, its not on the level of Ederson or Ter Stegen, but he's a lot better than you're giving him credit for Pags.

Because you couldn't be any more wrong. If anything he's over confident on the ball, I dunno who you are watching.
