I enjoyed the first one up until the last scene. Sequel doesn't look very good, loving the Children of the Corn vibe in parts of that trailer mind.

Hard Candy is on the Horror Channel tonight. I dont think its really a horror, but a very good film, if a bit uncomfortable. Worth a watch for anyone who hasnt seen it.

This is definitely one of the most fucked up films I've ever watched, and it's the 3rd in a trilogy apparently.

A couple of films for people to tell me about without spoilers. My brother knows I'm a horror film so decided to go niche for my birthday a few months back and buy me 4 horror films that I've never heard of. I have no idea if they're any good or not and don't really like to consult IMDB for these as budget horrors never score well, even if they are good.

So, views on:

The Cabin
Haunting of Crestview High
Cursed
Clown

I'm going through all the Phantasm films again. They're great and I'd recommend them to everyone here.

Don't know if it's the insanely hot German cast or their undisguisable accents, but damned if I'm not looking forward to this.

Me and Craig were discussing our favourite music themes from horror movies.

Has to be mine. Terrified me as a kid.

Pet Semarary has a great theme. Seriously creepy.

Horror films don't have good music anymore, do they? Seem to be filled with generic hollywood noise.

I was about to bring that up myself Cas, definitely lacking in the majority of modern horror.

Can you name a horror film within the last five years that has really good music?

Nope. The Conjuring is good but I wouldn't ever label it a classic, just a really solid horror that gets most of the basics right. Genuinely can't think of one.

Did you catch the Masters of Horror series (nearly a decade ago now!!)?

I was gutted when it was cancelled, great opening title sequence too.

Never seen that. Might give it a download though!

That reminds me. Need to finish Tales of the Crypt.

I actually thought the music in Insidious was superb. Tiptoe through the Tulips was a clever addition but the actual 'horror scare music' was very effective.

I think my favourite horror theme is Saw though. If I was a wrestler, I'd definitely be a heel and come out to that. Its epic.

I've never really been a fan of the Saw films. Thought the first was okay but then they got worse with each installment.

Insidious has a good theme though. Not giving you a like tho, I'm not as soft as Craig.

The first Saw film was excellent. It was pretty unique when it came out. The mind games and isolated elements were very well done. The rest of them cash in on the franchise but are fun to watch as long as you don't take them too seriously.

I've switched to the U.S Netflix on my PS4. There's some decent horror films on there unlike the U.K offering.

And kudos to Cas for smashing the inaugural shoutbox horror quiz, knew you wouldn't let me down.
