Hello from Portugal.

I can't believe some people in my country are talking about us having a shot at winning the Euro. I haven't seen more than 2 passes in sequence. Also, having two 40 year olds for center backs doesn't help (one of them just got sent off by making the same stupid challenges he used to make when he was 20).

As for England, you have a good young team. But if you aren't able to beat us then don't get your hopes too hight for this tournament.

Bright future though. Bernardo Silva and Cavaleiro are good prospects.

Hang on.. Is he really forcing the two best strikers in the country out wide to accommodate a spent force who is apparently now a dead ace midfielder?

Positives from that first half was the defence. Looked good and the fullbacks did well going forward i thought. And that's the part of the field we're supposed to be weak in.

Yes i think so too (once CR7 leaves). But Cavaleiro? I'm surprised you know about him, i had forgot he existed and don't know where he plays for nowadays.

Good prospects in my opinion are: Renato Sanches, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Neves, Rafa, Gonçalo Guedes, Diogo Jota, among others and we recently won Euro under-17.

Cavaleiro plays at Monaco. He was injured from October till April so it's no wonder you forgot about him. Good player when fit.

Right, come on Hodgson, make some changes. Nothing happening, switch things up tactically.

At least it looks like we might just be able to look forward to going out on penalties...

Why is Rooney offside? Because he has no turn of pace to stay onside and still get in behind defences. Yet the guy who has just gone off does. I defend Hodgson a hell of a lot, but his obsession with Rooney has no logic.

Is there some kind of masterplan behind Kane taking all these set pieces that I'm not smart enough to work out?

So much more balanced now. Fair play to Sterling, he has looked well up for it since he come on.

Sterling with the assist (OK, a bit of luck for Rashford's) for the last three England goals.

Poor performance, but I'll take the win. Really interesting to see what the starting XI looks like for the Russia game.

So what did we learn? That Roy still doesn't know what he's doing? That a win will overshadow a flat performance where Englands top scoring strikers were asked to track fullbacks instead of staying up to cause the opposition problems? That for an attacking team we seemed to do very little attacking and our defenders were by far our best players?
Yeah all that.

Yeah all that.
If Roy has a single brain cell in his body, he'll sack off the split strikers when we're off the ball, let them sit up top and stay there. He shouldn't start Rooney, who once again was a waste of space. Start Alli, Sterling, Barkley, Lallana, Smalling, don't care, anyone buut Rooney. So no doubt Rooney will be in upfront and Vardy will start on the bench.

Not sure which combination of midfielders works best. Alli went missing in the 2nd half, does he need to be more central. I'd start a diamond of Dier, Alli, Lallana and Sterling against Russia, Kane and Vardy upfront. Same back 3 as tonight.

End of the day, this tournament is win win for me. If we do shit and go out in the groups, they'll have no choice but to sack Hodgson and find someone else. And it might be time for that. He's done a good job generally, transitioning from the ageing vets we had in the squad when he took over to the young hungry squad we have now. But I'm not sure he's the right man to lead us past the Euros. However, if we do well and get to the QFs, then he deserves to stay. Anything less than the quarters and he should go. So we either do well and he stays, or we do shit and he goes. Works for me.
