MK and Northampton have to be the most guaranteed points we'll ever get

Not sure when they crossed over from that horrible hockey ground but we've played there 7 times and won 5 of them as far as I can tell. Only time I've been there was one of the losses, when Barry Conlon was turning out for us, dark times.

Can't share your confidence just yet.
Frecks off injured, Taylor, Newell, Purrington also out, Procter out for season.
We only need a couple more injuries and we are down to bare bones.

If we can manage to stay competitive until the window opens I will start to believe but it's far to early to get giddy just yet.

Nice to win a few games though after last season's nightmare.

Injurys are the only reason what will stop us getting least playoffs this season, i can't believe how much of different in quality between championship and league 1 now it's crazy.

L1 is strange this year. The sides at the bottom are absolutely shit and the relegated ones are proving far too strong. Bad year all round I think, hope Shrews can keep at least one point of interest.

Agreed TTL, we only have to avoid defeat today to jump up one place in the league.

Yes, the two teams at the bottom are absolute shit. They've only won one game each!

Who would be so bad as to be the only side to lose to them?

Oh .......

You won't be anywhere near Wigan IMO

If we start to graft out scrappy away wins away from home like against Rochdale Saturday then we are gonna be right up there at the end of the season with the home record we have.

I don't think Blackburn are consistent enough especially at home and i think they have a shit manager so i reckon we will finish above them.

Agree on Wigan though, i think they are the team to finish above to win the league.

Still not sure about Bradford, they are doing well atm home and away but they always seem to fade towards to end of the season in previous seasons but we will see.

I think Oxford are still gonna be a threat like i predicted at the beginning of the season and it wouldn't surprise me if they started to put alot of the wins on the board and challenge auto spot.

Without researching I can't be certain, but in the last two seasons I think we've probably been in the top 2 or 3 form wise for the last 10 games of the season to reach the playoffs. In 13/14 when you were promoted we improved near the end to starve of relegation fears after a dreadful mid season run. And in 12/13 we were the form team to reach the playoffs, the only season I remember us fading was in 14/15 when we totally collapsed to Bristol City, Preston and Chesterfield. Our blip is usually December, January and February.

Better get used to the fact that relegated teams will dominate this league for years to come. The money in the Championship is simply too vast and is only going to get bigger with the new TV deals and increase of rich owners dreaming of Premier League billions. With that it has improved the standard of the division to the extent where teams who get relegated have too much of an advantage for League One in terms of players owned and money available. I wouldn't be surprised if all three relegated teams from last season go straight back up and that would send the clearest message yet.

We gambled on going up first time knowing that the financial hit would be worth it should we get back up and kept all our top players, some of whom like Nick Powell will be on very good money (five figures a week). Thankfully the gamble looks like it will pay off should we keep going as we are.

We won about 8 of the last 13 games at the end of last season. We won our last 6 homes games on the bounce if you include Fleetwood in the play offs. We were in the top 5 pretty much all season. Season before we finished 5th and can’t really remember us massively straying from that all season as well. Not sure when we ‘faded’.

Rotherham looked toothless at ours against an organised defence. It’s alright smashing a couple of dodgy teams at home but not sure they will do enough to the top of the league. Much more fearful of Wigan.

With the team, manager and setup with Wigan have they should realistically be finishing top and I think they will. Not sure yet about second place. The next best squad in the league is probably Blackburn. I wasn’t impressed with them when we played them but they did a job on us which you need to do to grind out wins.

Shrewsbury I can see faltering like we did last season but potentially hanging on to the play-offs. Bradford once again seem to look solid and will most likely make the play offs again. Rotherham have seemed to become more consistent lately after an inconsistent start, can see them in the play offs too. I see the final play off spot being contested between Peterborough and Charlton.

Don't worry about it, we have 34 more embarrassments to endure (with the possible exception of December 9th)

After twenty penalties between us we've just beaten Pheonix Sports Club (?) in the Kent senior cup to progress to the 4th round.

The fightback IS on

I'll raise you that our ladies beat Thrapston Town yesterday. I can't wait for Saturday now, I see a goalfest coming...

Totally agree, i think they are now where they will finish as i think us, Blackburn amd Bradford will finish above them.

TBH, I'd be absolutely delighted with that finish. Except for the Bradford bit ;-)

Tbf, I think the 'championship effect' talked about earlier only applies to Wigan and, to a lesser extent, Blackburn. We were so woefully bad, historically bad - even for Rotherham, that we had a complete clear out and basically started again.

This may also explain our inconsistency at the start of the season, which is now ironing out. Great credit has to go to Paul Warne for rebuilding a club he cares deeply about and to the chairman, for recognising that last season wasn't his fault at all and he was basically holding onto the tiller after someone else had steered us onto the iceberg.

Looking forward to the Scunny game. I've missed those fixtures and remember us smashing them for five many many years ago, lol.
