When was the last time you actually played at Oldham?

Thankfully not often, we’ve been there 5 times since the turn of the century and only once in the league.

Still, wait for the result on Monday, you heard it here first

I'm not sure how Stevenage have ended up in with a shout of the PO's. They've hardly been mentioned this season.
They've been pretty consistent throughout the season. Never too far from the playoffs but not putting together a run of form that would get them talked about... until now that is. Actually been plodding along like that for two or three seasons now.

Hopefully we put their hopes to bed next Saturday.

Norwood isn't badly injured, just mind games from Mellon. Backfired a bit as it was clear he risked Nors to try and win the psychological battle who which is very poor on his part.

And then he was totally outdone tactically by Cooper, yet again. Must sting. Cooper is to Mellon what Cowleys are to Cooper lol.
I disagree, I thought he was clearly still carrying his injury. His movement was nothing like his usual, and his touch was poor. I think he's trying to play through it and we suffered as a result.

We have a couple doing that, never like players doing it normally end up with a worse injury.

Yeah, absolutely. He was limping for about 30 minutes of the MK Dons game, and I was hoping Mellon would bring him off. We really could do with him fit for the playoffs. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't start at your place on Monday now autos are basically out of reach.

We're done now i think. Need a minimum 7 points from 9 and i think thats too much for us in our current position. Good season ruined by the owners off the pitch.

8th Colchester(43) - 63 points. Yeovil(A), MK Dons(H), Lincoln(A)
10th Stevenage(43) - 63 points. Exeter(H), Mansfield(A), Cheltenham(H)

Lincoln miss out on the chance to win the title, but I'm sure they'd rather confirm it in front of their own fans on Monday, so I doubt they are too bothered.

The top 3 moves around yet again. Mansfield continue their revival by battering Morecambe. A few tricky fixtures coming up for them, but they have momentum now. MK Dons recover from back to back defeats by beating Notts County. Must win on Monday at home to Port Vale before finishing with 2 promotion chasers.

Bury slip to 4th after losing to Newport, going to need that home form to come through it seems. Tranmere see their automatic hopes dealt a big blow. Need a response against Lincoln and Bury otherwise they'll have to settle for the play-offs. FGR pretty much stamp their ticket by beating Tranmere, 2 teams with nothing to play for next to really get them in good form.

Exeter surprisingly drop points against Crawley, a resurgent Stevenage next up for them, plus 2 more tricky fixtures to finish with. Suddenly they look in real danger of blowing their promotion hopes.

Carlisle and Colchester pounced on that slip up with 1-0 home wins against Lincoln and Grimsby respectively. Neither have looked like promotion contenders in recent weeks, but with Exeter slipping up, there is still hope for both. You'd fancy Carlisle's chances more than Colchester's given the 2 run ins mind.

Stevenage are back in the hunt as well after some good results of late. A tough run in for them, but beat Exeter on Monday and who knows what might happen. Newport also lurking, got a game in hand which is a real wild card.

Still everything to play for bar the title. 2nd and 3rd up for grabs between 3 teams and it's 1 of 3-4 teams for that 7th spot.
What have Newport done to offend you?

Anyway - I’m not very confident still, I mean we should have enough about us now but our remaining fixture look tricky than I expected now we are closer to them!
couple of draws will do it ? your good at them ,,,,, see how many you take today .......

Sounded like we had the better chances against Stevenage, but a point just about keeps us on track. Stevenage keeper was booked for time wastingat 1-1 which says it all.

Can somebody who watched the Mansfield game put me out my misery and tell me if Rose was offside or not for the last kick of the game disallowed goal?

Mansfield started the game like they were mid-table and safe, so infuriating.

Who have Bury got on Saturday - will they be promoted if they stay ahead of Mansfield and MK Dons as the latter 2 play each other on the final day?

He wasn't time wasting at all?! Exeter attacker fouls one of our defenders. Referee awards FK, has a word with the attacker. Farman placed the ball in line with assistant/where the foul took place and the referee asked him to move it back a couple of yards. Farman remenstrated with the referee and was booked for the argument.

Draw was the fair result. You had the better opportunities but in reality they were few and far between. We offered very little which was disappointing. For me our chances of making the play-offs rested on winning today, didn't get it so League Two again next season, probably not a bad thing in reality.

Today was the reason I don’t share the other Mansfield fans optimism of promotion.

Absolute dross again, another big and expectant following, another shower of shit produced.

The fraud that is Jorge grant did one thing in the first half which was a dreadful challenge which he possibly could have been sent off for.

CJ and Mellis in midfield were largely anonymous and the fact that they only put the effort in when 2-0 and 3-1 wound me up even more.

Do the players and the manager want promotion or not? Didn’t seem it today

If Bury, stags and MK all win on Sat then Bury will just about be promoted, but not certainly as they could lose out on goal difference though unlikely. If they lose badly on the final day and MK and stags draw.

Playoffs in our own hands now.

Still can’t see it though...
Hopefully you and Newport can draw..
Anyway, big game next week, hopefully we can kill you off though we need to play better than we have done at home lately.

The Oldham manager got his tactics right today and they deserved to win.

If you can’t be optimistic when your team is third with 2 games to go then maybe being a football fan isn’t your thing.

Kinda odd that of the current top 10, only 2 won. Ok, several of them were playing against each other, but still. Lincoln secure the title, even if it was by drawing at home, again. Congrats to them, only 5 defeats all season to this point, worthy champions.

The automatic race keeps swinging backwards and forwards though, can't keep up. Now Bury are back in pole position after a home win against Northampton. Just Tranmere next week to navigate, although Port Vale and their stingy away form could pose problems, just ask MK Dons. Still, a win and dropped points by Mansfield and MK Dons next week will see them promoted. Very close now.

Mansfield slip up at Oldham, but maintain 3rd by the skin of their teeth. A win for them next week coupled with MK Dons losing at Colchester all but guarantee promotion. We'll see if that happens, hopefully it goes down to that final game. MK Dons get stymied by the Vale, next up is a desperate Colchester and then Mansfield. Tough route to the automatics for them now.

FGR are probably too far off with with not enough games left to push for the top 3, although a win at Crewe next week coupled with some favourable results would make things very interesting. As an aside, they also stamp their ticket for the play-offs regardless of what happens. And I also see they are above Tranmere as well....... :shifty:

As for Tranmere, it's a good result for them drawing at Lincoln. Might have finally killed off their automatic bid, but still. Next week will be a cracker. They'll want a win to keep their slim top 3 hopes alive, plus scupper Bury's automatic bid, plus secure their top 7 spot. Lots to play for.

Exeter continue to huff and puff their way along. Got a bit fortunate that the 2 teams below them also couldn't win. Inform Oldham and FGR to finish, not easy those 2. Still hope for the chasing pack.

Well, only if those teams sort themselves out. Carlisle lose at out of form Grimsby, Colchester just about get out of Huish Park with a point and Stevenage can't hold onto the lead against Exeter. Colchester and Stevenage both have tough fixtures next up, Carlisle are at home to Crawley. And yes, I know Newport are right behind on the same number of points, but a draw at Macclesfield today does give me some reason not to include them just yet.

Can't wait to see how these next 2 weeks unfold, everything to play for bar the title.
