Added to the fact that strong rumours are that he isn’t liked at board level and will be sacked should we not go up.

If we didn’t go up I’d be completely 50/50 on whether to keep him or not
He has to go - anyone who plays Macca at RWB is not fit for the job.

Hold on, I’m confused! Which way is the Adam wind blowing now? I prefer it when you swap sides, switch opinions from week to week rather than being sat on the fence

We probably have less pressure on us now in fairness. Aside from spanishstags manic optimism (for some reason) nobody really expects us to go up.
Simple were a better team ,you lot call it manic optimism ,its a damn sight better than the negativity some of our lot post on here, now he,s not liked at board level ,you couldnt make it up ,well some could

Still Probably finish above Swindon comfortably like, so yeah If I were you I wouldn’t worry myself either!
With a budget over twice ours I would have thought you’d piss it this year, tbh.

Carry on, Flitcroft!

What are Swindon running on then, less than £1.5m? Why would that be?

5 points separate the play offs teams so we’re not better, pretty equal.

Some call your posts manic optimism, I call it talking rubbish.

I really hope we can get over the line but under DF I highly doubt it. His tactical decisions and signings have been awful from Jan.

Don’t be coy. Our budget for last season and next will remain at £2-2.5m - that’s according to Power. Yours has been reported at close to £5m. Ffs, Walker’s wages were costing you £30k a month on his own.

Saying that, we underachieved massively as well.

Our budget is not £5m, £2.5m last season(Radfords own words) so £3m ish is a decent educated guess. Notts County was reported at £3m odd for Christ sake, and we didn’t spent more than them.

It was also reported that we were paying Walker 4.5/5k p/w, so again where’s the 30 figure from?

Who’s reported it then? I might have a idea :D

Considering he has more apperant knowledge on Mansfield budget than Swindon’s, I would love to know how he’s got figures that not even anybody our end have heard and most importantly, how are we complying with the 55% wage/income rule, surely THAT much sponsorship money would ring alarm bells?

Radford said Evans had a budget of 3 million. (Double Murray's) after he left. I doubt very much we have increased that another 2 million for DF.

It’s always a mixture of reported and guesswork .

I’m pretty sure it was £2.5m quoted, and to be fair it’s definitely higher than liked due to Evans era players unable to shift and injury crisis which led to a disastrous January transfer window.

This isn’t new though, remember Cowley earlier in the season incorrectly stating we paid £300k for Lee Angol?

5 million

Walkers wages are costing us half the figure Indian Dan has posted. At the start of the season we also had 4 players on big wages that we couldn't shift, All Evans signings. Those were Anderson rumoured to be on 3.5k, Butcher 2.5/3k and Diamond and Mirfin who have both been injured all season. Diamond retired mid way through the season and Mirfin is retiring at the end of this season. Both also on big money.

Anderson left in Jan and for some reason Dundee United fancied Butcher so he left aswell.

Fair enough Flitcroft has still had one of the best budgets in the division but that doesn't guarantee promotion. Look at Notts. His recruitment in the Summer was good, January was dissapointing but I wonder how much of that is down to Greg Abbott who came in during December..

Can I just point out that Swindon’s total wage bill is around £2.5m, but this includes non playing staff.

Tranmere have a non playing budget of around £3.6m of which roughly half goes into players, so 1.7 to 1.8m.

From what I’ve been told I’d expect Mansfield are spending about £1m a year more than us on players.

All this talk of money is irrelevant anyway. We may as well have spent another few million on top players to ensure promotion, nearly go bust, but let the pfa hop aboard and pay our way over the line like Bury.

True, but even when cheating you need to have the right people to do the job and not bottlers

Whatever you paid for Angol it was too much:lol::lol:
Played a grand total of 5 minutes for us during his loan and spent most of the time sat in the stand.
Granted was here as emergency cover/ insurance in case Akinde got injured or banned.

Another epic signing by Evans. Honestly the fat judas c*** walking out on us was probably the best thing to happen to us in the last few seasons.

It’s better news than that. We’ve managed to arrange a charity rugby game for Weds evening which will be in aid of an ex Wales hooker with MND. Prior to that game there is a touch rugby tournament too so will have fellas and kids running all over the pitch with their big muddy boots for about 4 hours. Weather forecast is shit too so pitch will cut up a treat fingers crossed. Happy days, see you all Thursday.
Panic over - rugby moved to Friday evening.

Agreed mate but apparently we pretty much recouped his fee from Shrewsbury!

Anyway I would be interested to know where Indian Dan got that figure from, and why he believed it!?!?

People on here either make things up, report figures they’ve heard without any background checks or legitimacy and reports them as fact! You know that better than anyone Conks, just start the sentence with:
I’ve heard
I’ve been told
It’s been reported
And my personal favourite , our chairman said.... then state a player/club and an inflated amount . It’s that simple

It’s all hearsay and bs with a bit of truth mixed in.

It’s definitely possible and pretty easy to gauge a decent budget figure especially when a chairman quotes it the season before, but I’m still waiting about the £5m one!?!
