I said next 2 games not 1 game. Thought we was playing our game in hand Tuesday but it seems to be a week on Tuesday. Obviously if we played this weekend and then our game in hand then it doesn't matter what the teams around us do?
Well yeah, but you're not playing in your game in hand this week so I was basing what I said on the actual fixtures that exist. Thanks for wasting 5 minutes of my life there. Please check fixtures before posting such claims in future mate.

Jesus wept the state of this thread, or rather the warped logic of the Exeter fan. We might as well stop the season now and get cracking on with the play offs right now. Ooops hold on....that would mean Exeter would miss out as they'r currently in 8th place.

All the sides down to Crewe in 13th are still in it. One could argue Grimsby and Newport are still in too but it's a tough ask for these sides to make it IMO, the former because I don't think they have enough quality in their side just yet, and the latter only because they've been distracted by the Cup. Having said that, I still maintain that, out of all the sides currently in 9th-13th place, Oldham look to me to be the best bet to gatecrash the play offs. They were already my bet before Scholes tookover, and now I can only see them getting stronger. OTOH, one side that will deffo fall away is Boro as I see them as the weakest side out of that lot.*

As for the autos, I think at least one of the current sides in the top 3 will fall away and make way for one of Col U or MK.

*and yes, I know I'm contradicting myself here but never mind ;)

I think we have enough quality in our side to maintain playoffish form between now and the end of the season, but the problem is that we need to hit title winning form to have a chance really, which won't happen.

I said next 2 games so my apologies if you are illiterate mate. Dunno why you would assume that meant just this weekend.

But yes, I concede I thought we were playing this Tuesday.

Haha genuinely can't tell if you are being serious here and just aren't very perceptive or if you know what you're doing. I know you said 2 games and that was what I was pulling you up on. Not my fault I know the upcoming fixtures (particularly the Exeter ones) better than you. I quite clearly based my response off your next 2 games and didn't for a second think you meant just this weekend.

I agree that we won’t make the play offs as it would take title winning form until the end of the season which we are not capable of yet, but we have improved massively since our diabolical performance at your place and are a completely different animal now.

I'm expecting us to be on the same points after we beat you at the fortress next week.

Things can change very quickly. So many clubs playing each other.

What a lot of the comments above don't take account of is how much squads have changed in January. Ours is very different to the one we started the season with, and I know there have been a few changes at the other mid-table clubs as well. So you can't simply extrapolate the form of a team in the first half of the season and assume that nobody outside the top seven is consistent enough to get into the play offs.

They might not be, but we can't know that yet.

I love how this plum is accusing you of being illiterate when he can't even correctly post what his club's next 2 fixtures are.

I think Lincoln are the only certs at this moment in time.
Conversely I think if anyone is going to drop out of the top three, it would be Lincoln. Even though they're well ahead of the others, I feel it more likely that they'll go on the poor run required to drop out than either Mansfield or Bury.

I suspect he is a highly sophisticated troll.

Either Lincoln or Mansfield dropping out would be brilliant. Can't see either happening though, unfortunately.

May I ask what logic you are applying here?

You seem to have more confidence in that happening than me!

Literally nothing to do with being illiterate - Him failing to read my post correctly is illiterate. Me thinking we were playing a game a week earlier has nothing to do with literacy.

Further illiteracy, from you both - For being on the 'Promotion thread' when you should be residing over in the Middle of the table, irrelevancy thread.

Jesus now you are the forum police! I have posted on the relegation thread, but we're clearly not going to get relegated.

Stop being the end of a particularly large bell.

They're a less well-rounded team, relying on an excellent defence to make up for an average attack, opposed to Mansfield and Bury who have very good attacks and still good defences. Something like an injury or just an individual player losing form could affect them much more.

Posting here to annoy Devon Lad.

Think we could make a late push for the automatics tbh.

Forget having a good defence, if we could just defend set pieces then we'd probably be top of the league.

As explained several times, I didn't read it incorrectly though. Please just admit you got this one wrong. This is almost as bad as the time Mansfield battered Exeter and you couldn't admit it.

Strangely, I only see that Bury have scored more than us. Its the lack of pace in midfield that might undo us., but at 1/12 for promotion I think we are probably going to be alright.

An excellent defence which is currently joint second best, with our average attack, which is also second best :dk:.

Edit, Plumbob beat me to it!
