We are that shit these days that I just can't be arsed with this derby game at all and I never thought I'd say that:ffs:

I'll still be there mind, praying that our hopeless lot some how manage to churn out a performance and get the win we so DESPERATELY need... however I am not holding my breathe:dk:

Time for someone to stand up and become a hero...

Looks like the Stags are prepared for the worst with Flitcroft, and I don't blame them, the man has no stomach or bottle for derby games. Just to remind you, when Bury recenlty played Bolton at Gigg Lane, it was the first time we had played each other in the league in 17/18 years. Our older fans were reveling in memories of glorious victories at Burnden and bitter playoff defeats. Full blooded affairs, back before Bolton had Reebok and before they pretended United were their derby, and well before we had to settle for Rochdale as ours. The young fans had never seen this as a league fixture and were just as excited.

Despite being in poor form, the pigs making it all ticket and the game being a Monday night on sky, we still had a decent crowd for the game. Such was the excitement for the fixture. It was a good atmosphere, the ground seemed packed, and Flitcroft, Mr 'passionate' Flitcroft reverted to a fucking 4-5-1 formation that he had failed to use properly on numerous occasions. We subsequently lost 2-0 and didn't have a shot on goal. The atmosphere, save for the away fans, was dead by the hour because Bolton could contain us so easily.
Flitcroft as per usual blamed the ref and apologised to the fans. This just a week after his stupidity had cost us a 2-0 defeat at Spotland where he blamed the ref and apologised to fans. The man has had his day, he is all talk and can't deliver when it matters the most.

I noticed he is claiming he has never been so passionate about any job as the Mansfield job. He said that all the time at Gigg Lane and apparently loved the chairman. The man talks shit and I wouldn't trust a thing he says.

Anyways rant over!

Come on Chesterfield, put another nail in that Bolton git's coffin. Also i'd much rather be playing you next season than Forest Green. FAO Stags it is not personal, I just hate Flitcroft.

Tbh, we've already quickly sussed that he's poor manager, however he's only been here for 8 games, which have yielded 0 wins, even when it looked like we'd hold on against Lincoln we wouldn't have deserved it, and hin shutting up shop didn't work either.

His tactics are bizarre, his interviews are the same. Literally tomorrow is a massive game, if he loses he's going to be under massive pressure

I quite like his interviews seems a nice guy, a “million percent”

There appears to be a lot of passion from posters re DF.

Glad people are starting to see Flitcroft for the fraud that he is. When he was sacked at Bury it was full of comments from other fans like “he got you promoted” and “you’re only Bury what do you expect”...

His tenure had fans pulling their hair out even if he did sometimes manage to get results. His interviews are nauseating, his tactics are non-existent. Falls out with good players, plays players out of position for sport...

From the outside looking in you’d think he did a reasonable job at Barnsley, Bury and Swindon but fans of those clubs will tell you a different story.

Oh the good old shutting up shop technique that he constantly uses and that never works. Our first two games in league one Doncaster away, we were dominant for an hour, Doncaster could not get the ball out of their half, then for no reason whatsoever he took a striker off for a midfielder and played 4-5-1 for a 0-0 draw. The game petered out. The next week we were tearing Swindon a new one, 2-0 on the hour, totally dominant. It was a matter of how many. On 65 minutes he takes left winger Danny Mayor, our best player off and put Hallam Hope, a God awful, unfit, out of form striker on in Mayor's place on the left. He then takes a striker off for a midfielder. Guess what? We are lucky to escape with a 2-2 draw. Even when he had us playing well he still contrived to make a complete pig's ear of everything.

Further to add, later that season, and despite a big budget Flitcroft contrived to drag us into relegation trouble. We visited Spotland for a farce of a game. Dale despite a fraction of our budget were pushing the top six. We were looking over our shoulder and had lost every away game for five months.
Flitcroft started with central midfielder Tom Soares, his face in a mask, at centre back and put centre back Reece Brown in at central midfield. He dropped the reliable left back Hussey and put the useless, old and slow Danny Pugh in his place. Chesterfield were in the bottom four and he signed a guy who couldn't get in their team and gave him his debut at right wing. He was dreadful. His stupid training regime had left the team unfit and injury prone. Two players went off injured before half time and we were left with just one up front.
Then despite claiming to blood our youth, he refused to play them. Instead at 3-0 down in this fixture he gave a yts lad from Sheffield Wednesday his league debut. He did nothing, surprise surprise. In the away end our fans were near on rioting meanwhile that Bolton Twat stood there, hands in his pocket staring into space, or so it seemed. He allegedly even rang Keith Hill at half time asking for advice.
Sorry about the rant but the scars still run deep where this deluded toss pot is concerned.
After being up there all season your team deserves much better than this joke of a manager.

Twice at Bury in L1 he had the metaphorical world in his hands and managed to fuck it all up...

4th going into November in 2015/16... we end up finishing 16th, losing 6-0 away at Coventry, 3-0 away at Barnsley, Rochdale and Wigan along the way.

2nd in October in 2016/17... we lose our next 12 (twelve) games... end up surviving on the final day that’s to a mini revival under Lee Clark (another useless tosser).

Coventry's only remaining win that season was against us and they were 4-0 up at half time. Likewise Wigan, it was 3-0 after twenty minutes. Dale it was 2-0 but should have been 4 or 5.
The funniest thing is Flitcroft boasted about finishing 16th at a rare fans forum as though it was something to be proud of.

That many defeats against Dale it’s hard to keep track, but it was 3-0, goals from Mendez-Laing and a header from Eastham.

We did lose 2-0 there and have 2 players sent off the season after though, of course :ffs:

Christ, what a depressing few years it’s been when you think about it.

I meant that it was 2-0 at half time as opposed to the 4-0 at Coventry and the 3-0 at Wigan. Dale could have easily had three or four more before half time.

Lee Clark is terrible, how he keeps getting jobs I'll never know. But if paul lambert can get his way back into the premiership, anything is possible

Reading that, do you blame me? As I say, all the best when he isn't your manager anymore. You deserve alot better.

Not at all mate, don't blame you at all. I see already where you're coming from but hope he's going to turn a corner!

If he's the appalling manager that's being claimed here it should be easy for us.

Best of luck to both sides.... Hope its a good game no matter the result. Don't think we'll win in true stags fashion, we won't make playoffs and you'll some how stop up... can just see it happening.

No interested in winding anyone up, I'm good friends with an ex chesterfield player and fitness coach and its not been nice to see your mates side struggle.

A few years in non league will be fine, just come back for some more proper derby games soon!

Stags put the ball out for an injured player, chesterfield then just play on when the ball is back in play... deserve to go down.

Red Card for chesterfield for blatant cheating, only to be over turned because the flag was up. Desperate side that will go down.

FUCK OFF YOU SHIT CLUB, BYE BYE BYE BYE GOOD FUCKING BYE!!!!!! Jack Lester is the best manager you've ever had

‘Not interested in winding anyone up’ is a direct quote from you earlier.

Regarding the game, it’s great to hopefully condemn Chesterfield to non-league but I’m still not confident about winning any of our remaining games. Even if we somehow get in the play-offs I don’t think we have a chance.

That escalated quickly! A strong coffee might be in order.

That's that I guess. Good luck next season Mansfield, we'll hopefully be back a year or two to resume hostilities. Until then, we have some work to do. Until next time

I thought we were fairly poor in all departments once again today. However, Chesterfield were woeful and, on that showing, have no chance of avoiding the drop. No real quality in a poor game all round but the atmos wasn't bad. Hopefully see you in a few years Spireites when you resolve the issues plaguing your club.

Pretty much echo what Baratheon said.

2 poor sides, a poor game and poor quality. We were marginally a better side but chances for both sides were few and far between. Again we played the long ball too often and scored from one of the few passing moves we put together.

Chesterfield were, well terrible. That's not even a top half conference performance, which I suspect they'll soon find out.great atmosphere from the Mansfield fans, well done to one and all.
