I see Netflix has cancelled the Marvel shows "Iron Fist" and then "Luke Cage" this month. But also interest in the shows had been flagging , and their fate could mean trouble for Netflix's other main Marvel shows, "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones."

Disney is set to terminate a contract with Netflix at the end of the year. As Disney prepares to enter the streaming war with its own Netflix competitor next year.

It is terrifying and heartbreaking to watch. I'd have to say this is one of the better documentary series on Netflix I have seen.

I dunno, I'd say I find it an uplifting comedy about 2 Scottish pensioners. Wouldn't call it heartbreaking or terrifying, didn't realise it was based on real events either.

I think the country just kind of went nuts under the Nazi party.

A new TV series is coming soon in February to Netflix called The Umbrella Academy (action/fantasy) consists of 10 episodes.

The Umbrella Academy, a new superhero series soon to hit Netflix, is based on a comic book series of the same name by Gerard Way. It's about a dysfunctional family of superheroes who reunite after their adoptive father dies.

Stars Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton and Eden Cupid.

That's great! I was thinking only the other day that what Netflix sorely lacks is comic book adaptations about superheroes.

Recently finished watching Season 2 of The Punisher (13 episodes)

It was good slightly on a par with season one. It'll be hard to top Jon Bernthal who once again was excellent casting for this version of the character. The action picks up well after the end of the first season, and once again he's aggravated by the bad guys and the scrappy teen alike. Amy (Giorgia Whigham) has suddenly become Frank's responsibility, and that makes her a pain in the ass. And that's the season, though of course, there's a lot more to it than that. Starring Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Floriana Lima and Giorgia Whigham.

Really hoping they keep some of the cast when the show finally does come back in some way when Disney snatches back up the license.

Dunno if anyone has posted this, but I watched a great film on Netflix called The boy who harnessed the wind the other day. It's about a family (and community) of subsistence farmers from Malawi whose lives are at the mercy of drought and the rains and the skill and ingenuity of a boy who comes up with a solution. Based on a true story, would highly really recommend.

Also, for anyone who likes historical fiction Knightfall is fairly good. Tempat Knights and all that.

It was really enjoyable. The bloke that was in Misfits and is in this plays the role really well. There have been a lot of documentaries on Netflix so quite nice having something that's a bit of fun to watch.

I think Gervais is a twat and that probably colours my impression of everything he does, but I really didn't like it.

Tonally all over the place, and not very funny.

The way the show just skips past that death (end of Ep.4) on the way to its nice, cockle-warming ending is something else.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 6 episodes of After Life, the casting was perfect and it had everything for enjoyable viewing, another classic from Gervais.

In all honesty i haven't seen After Life, I'm not really a big fan of Gervais he's in that sort of category of a dim bulb, all he does is laugh at his own jokes with that annoying hyena laugh.

Not in this he doesn't, each episode is only half an hour, it's not exactly an effort.;)

Netflix's recently launched genre series The Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a second season. Production is expected to be underway from May through to September ahead of an airing early next year.

i watched the Netflix film Triple Frontier the other day, purely as it has been pretty heavily advertised everywhere i have been

its a pretty watchable but unmemorable 2 hour film with a couple of twists. well made though and a couple of big names associated with it

Usually can't stand Super Hero stuff but Umbrella Academy is pretty enjoyable.

Klaus makes it but also like Mary J. Blige's character.

Finally managed to finish watching The Haunting of Hill House Season 1 (10 episodes).

A very interesting series that was a tad bit overrated. It was without a doubt well produced, great character casting was this show's greatest strength, overall a pretty decent season 1 with probably the exception of the finale in which the ending wasn't perfect. Maybe the series could have been a little bit shorter, nevertheless looking forward to the next season.

By all accounts Season 2 in 2020 will be called 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'

Lucifer's much anticipated fourth season stars Tom Ellis as the Devil, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, and newcomer Inbar Lavi as Lucifer's ex and Adam's wife Eve.

The show releases on Netflix after having rescued the series after its cancellation by FOX back in May last year. Returns on May 8 for ten new episodes.

I'm happy Lucifer's coming back again i thought Season 3 had a decent finale, maybe its for the better to have a shorter Netflix season to help focus on the larger story than just the weekly murder plot storylines?

Does anyone have any recommendations for similar docs to Making a Murderer and Staircase? I'm about to give Abducted in Plain Sight a go.

The Aaron Hernandez 3 part mini-series is well worth a watch.

Studio Ghibli films (with the exception of Grave of the Fireflies) are coming to Netflix in phases from 1st February. I've yet to watch any of their films but they're near enough all critically acclaimed so will get round to watching all 21 films they release.

When it comes to recommending movies / series on netflix, most of them will probably agree that the Queen's Gambit is a championship - you don't even have to recommend it: D
Haouse of Cards - if someone wants to find out what politics looks like from the inside and I guess that's what it looks like in every country. When I watch this series, I have a WTF where is this world going? Well, besides, the series will get you so at least: D
Big mouth for a casual evening and good mood
And if you're not laughing, this is a must see
Jumanji new version. I haven't heard such funny dialogues for a long time

I started watching today and I got 5 episodes at a time. I like series where there is always something going on, you can't leave the screen, you don't want to miss anything. The series is a story of a historical man who, based on a story from a book, wants to find out what really happened 25 years earlier.
