The BBC are appalling, especially as they're a public broadcaster - whenever there's no Premier League games they don't even run Final Score.

I've maintained on here many times that being in the Conference was brilliant for us because we were on TV 5 times, 3 times away from home in games that I had no chance of getting to. Not including cup or playoff games, that means we were on TV more times in one season than we have been for all of our other 20 Football League seasons combined - the last time one of our regular season games has been on Sky was in February 2001.

That's the most disappointing part of it. The clubs we support (generally) don't care enough. That feeble buckling that happened when EPPP was rolled out and the clubs essentially let themselves get blackmailed without putting up a fight was a huge nail in the coffin for smaller clubs. Fair play to those handful of clubs that stood up and voted against it (I think Cambridge and Luton might have done so), but the rest of our clubs should be hanging their heads in shame.

They just see £ signs and think yes, we can increase our budget! All it does is all clubs get the same money and all increase by the same amount so the money goes to player wages and agents! Nothing changes for the clubs in reality.

Maybe depends when you look but they had headlines about the Championship on their website at least - in the football section.

They're still sore at losing the highlights to Channel 5 so don't give a toss about the lower leagues. I found a good streaming site to watch Sky Football so followed the scores on there which at least didn't have Garth Crooks on it

Do the “live” streamed games have commentary? £10 a lot to watch in silence

Just finished watching the Championship show and Liam Rosenior said after the Brentford/Rotherham highlights ‘I think Rotherham were on the wrong end of a bad result there’.

Sky are full of top pundits. Chris Kamara, Paul Merson, Phil Thompson, Dennis Wise etc.

Also reminds me of some of Stuart Pearce's commentary on TalkSport "They're one down at half time here but if they can get the next goal they'll be level."

Seems as long as you're an ex-pro that people have heard of and can string a sentence together then getting a gig as a pundit doesn't take much. No need for any in depth analysis/ research or any shit like that. Just turn up and say some generic bollocks that sort of fits most teams and the jobs a good'un.

Lincoln vs Crawley (with Danny Cowley on commentating, punditry, presenting and half time entertainment)? Newly promoted Tranmere at home to a Colchester side that has made a decent start to the season? Or how about the absolute rock solid TV narrative match - MASSIVE SUNDERLAND VS JOEY BARTON'S WEE LITTLE FLEETWOOD TOWN? No?

Have you got the red button? Okay, then you are lucky enough to be able to sample of the delights of Belarus vs San Marino at 5PM on Saturday instead.

I'd like to see each league have it's own 2 hour show once a week where it covers all the news and action as well as features about various clubs and interviews with people etc but a lot more in depth than just the skimming leagues 1 and 2 especially receive currently.

I too have bombed out Sky as i agree with Son of Cod and an increasing number of other lower league fans. It's become a big unpleasant soiled nappy.

I have only BT Sport now as it comes with the broadband i have but i actually enjoy watching their National League games a lot and would prefer to watch Barrow v Hartlepool any day over Watford v Burnley. I really don't see how Watford v Burnley is that much more of an attractive fixture than Barrow v Hartlepool but of course i'm in a tiny minority.

Match of the Day is just about right for me. A short a sweet compilation of action from shockingly average footballers on hundreds of thousands a week who prefer tattooists, grooming products and posting meaningless tripe on twatter over producing what they are paid to produce.

If the miracle ever happen and Yeovil reached the Premier League then i'd hope for a Blackpool / Derby / Barnsley scenario whereby it's a mad season of ups and downs, everyone ha a great once in a lifetime experience and at the end of the season we get relegated.

There is absolutely no way i could watch a club that is permanently in the Premier League. Newcastle United for example. What has been the point of them for the last 50 years with all due respect to their fans of course. If the best you can hope for as a fan is to win league cup which now means nothing and avoid relegation each season whilst paying about 40 / 50 quid a ticket then i'd want no part of it whatsover.

Generally fair point though - most of the games are pretty average and many of the clubs are fighting for 13 places or so ( I speak as a team who who are joint top for now)

We always start well which creates some excitement but by the end we cannot wait for the season to finish !

I did enjoy the promotion seasons and all the drama that comes with those - we've been lucky to have a few and not been relegated too much .

As for Newcastle - their fans need a bit of a reality check - big fan base yes but very average club who have won nothing of note for decades.

No need to apologise for a rant! I've actually gone thirds with a couple of mates on a NowTV Sky Sports pass this season (think it was £180 divided by 3, so £60) so I haven't bombed out Sky totally. So perhaps, I'm being a bit hypocritical here but I can't be arsed with messing around with streams when I want to watch a Prem game. I miss having BT Sports though and would pay for that if it was available through an app like Sky Sports is. I can't get BT in the building I live in now though, unfortunately.

Sounds a bit like Lincoln! Watford have been very entertaining so far this season, I think you'll certainly keep this up longer than last season.

They have a good coverage of the National League and they have their own highlights show. It’s crazy that the non-league scene gets more air time than L1 and 2, but that’s how it is at the moment.

I would love it if League Two got anywhere near the coverage that the National League or the SPFL gets from BT Sport. I'm genuinely following those leagues more than the Championship or Premier League simply because of i) the coverage given by BT Sport and ii) the fact it seems real, not money obsessed, over hyped, unfulfilling garbage.

If I were BT, I would sack off paying ridiculous amounts for a tiny number of Premier league matches (in undesirable timeslots) and go all in to retain the Uefa competitions alongside EFL and SPFL. If occasionally there's a Premier League match worth watching, I'm sure people woiuld be happy enough to pay £7 for the Now TV day pass.

Read his rant on twitter, apparently the EFL sneaked it in the rules over the summer and most clubs were not aware of it.
