I am one of those idiots who was seduced by the Ferrero Rocher advert* into wanting some of that ambassador's reception goodness. Everyone would buy me Ferrero Rocher until I belatedly realised that they were actually not a particularly good chocolate.

In fairness I was a child and I still think the advert is great/ridiculous.

*this one of course:

Anyone who doesn't think that the Bounty bar tastes like a mixture of piss and shit is overrating it.

Flake. How do you even eat that without half of it crumbling onto the floor? I'm all for it in an ice cream but as a chocolate bar, no thanks mate.

Hershey's.

I'd never heard of it until a couple of years ago when a few shops had american ranges introduced and now they seem to have them everywhere and it's always selling out pretty quickly.

Only really a fan of the cookies and creme one. The milk chocolate tastes rank especially the Hershey's Kisses.

All Cadbury's are crap now since taken over by the Yanks. Boycotted them since I heard about it. Toblerone has gone down the shitter as well due to cost-cutting here in the UK, so fuck them too.

As usual, Dave is completely wrong.

Everyone says Hershey's is the worst tasting chocolate so it can't be overrated.

Hehe oh yes! I got some fudge the other month that was laced with Edradour and it was delicious! Also had mature cheese with Springbank in it and it was heavenly. Whisky is just bloody great! :D

So you boycotted them before the actual takeover and thus have never tasted Cadbury's chocolate since which means you don't know if the taste has changed or you boycotted them after the takeover once you heard about it and had been eating it until that point and not noticed a change in taste?

In either case I can assure you it tastes exactly the same as it's always tasted because it's still made exactly the same way in the same place with the same ingredients as before.

I don't believe that for one second tbh. It was going to be changed to make it more in line with their Yank chocolate recipes using their ingredients, and I haven't heard anything to the contrary. And anyway, even if it hasn't changed, I'd still be put off it, as they have reduced the amount you are getting whilst charging more money - like what Toblerone has done.

It's about £4 for a 360g bar of Toblerone so they're hardly fleecing you.

As for the change in size of Cadbury's products I can't say as I've noticed but I imagine that's something else conjured up by the same people who think the ingredients have changed.

Really it's just a conspiracy theory against a traditional British brand being taken over by 'The Yanks'. If the takeover had not been made public then I very much doubt any of these strange people would be any the wiser.

Their creme eggs definitely changed after the Americans arrived. Not the chocolate that I've noticed, but the filling is different.

I believe they admitted as much to be fair.

Even if it’s not really chocolate, the Kinder Hippo is the most underrated by far.

Well Toblerone first reduced their chocolate content in the UK a few years back, then have went back to the original recipe (that everyone else in the world gets) but are now charging more than previously. Fuck 'em.

I dunno how old you are Craig, but the bars were definitely bigger in the eighties and nineties. Its not just Cadbury's who do that tbf (Mars as well do it); but it is a pisstake from these manufacturers and another reason I don't buy them often.

Better off sticking with the European stuff like Lindt etc.

Don't think I've ever shopped in Aldi. Is it alright?
I know some people who swear by it but we do our main shop in Tescos but buy specific items from Aldi. Saying that it's down to individual preference.

Man, you don't realise what you have with English chocolate 'til you eat it again after years in the States. Chocolate here is atrocious.
