Who does he think he’s kidding? Hong Kong investor seriously  Bet the meeting never happens, he’ll either pull out or deny ever arranging it.

Not before taking £100k from them for exclusivity rights!

Norman is certainly rattled. He’s underestimated Vale fans and the fact that we’ve been here before.

Is he actually talking to someone from HK? or will he come out with "they changed their minds due to the fans protesting"?

Well why would anyone from HK want the Vale? I assume it will go the way of the 500k stadium sponsorship Mark Porter is meant to have cost us...

I know this opinion will go down badly, but the protests are a really bad idea. The best chance the fans have of helping the club right now is by getting down to the stadium in numbers and giving the team as much support as possible. Protesting outside and giving the players and manager more distractions and pressure won't help. That stuff needs to happen in the summer, regardless of what division you are in.

Absolute bunk.

I think if we lose tomorrow things are going to get very poisonous. That is more than a fair offer considering the club is virtually worthless.

Will increase the anger this being rejected as like Carol says where does it go from here? I'd love her to give it a go and trust her intentions. Wouldn't have us waltzing to the Championship but confident we would come out this mess.

A defeat tomorrow and full time could see the atmosphere turn sour, add to that the next home game it won't sit well. He has had a chance to do the right thing and get far more than its worth and blown it.

To be honest I don’t want to hear any BS about getting us to the Championship. The idiot did that at the start on the basis he thought it was basically as easy as running Stoke Audi. Just to not be a perennial basket case club would be welcome. That response he gave to her was extremely unprofessional too it must be said. Norman Smurthwaite all over that was.

Why keep it? He gets the Hugill sell on that we assumed he was clinging on for.

Our last hope is this Hong Kong buyer is real and has wonga who wants to pay more... or someone goes in with Synetics to up the bid.

Who knows, it’s not as though even without the covenant is worth anything for building flats on with those disused mine shafts under the stadium.

I would be willing to lay every penny I have that that Hong Kong one is complete fiction. Just like the £500k stadium sponsor...

No words can describe how much I hate that man.
He holds all the cards, he knows it, he doesn’t have to anything, we’ve just got to ramp the pressure up on him and hope he cracks.
Blackpool got there, we’ve just got to hope we can get there too.
3.5 mill for a soon to be non league club is bonkers.

Plus 400k Hugill payment plus he wants the kiosk sales in the concourse!

Is there any idea of how much he actually wants for the club? £3.5m seems an awful lot for most clubs of a similar size.

his original price was his initial investment (£1.25m?) plus his directors loan which according to last nights meeting has been reduced, but no-one currently knows. For arguements sake lets call it £2.5m.

He wanted £6 million 18 months ago allegedly.

He purchased it for £1.25 million, debt free with a squad tearing league two apart on its way to promotion...

How can he now value it more than that when it’s on the verge of relegation to non league with a fractured fan base and on its arse?

Carol has said it was his idea for the payments in instalments in response to his statement that he’s not willing to pay someone’s mortgage.

Apparently it came on last night that all concourse sales go to Smurf... and he wants that to remain the case in the sale... essentially he’s now told the fans what can hurt him so we will boycott it I guess!

Just listened to the interview it was actually 4.6 mill!!!!!
But he wanted keep the money made on the concourse?
What the actual fuck.
Honestly can’t believe this.
I’m livid.
He wants us to die, i’m never setting foot in there again til he’s gone!
We’ve had a box at vale for the last 5 years.
Never again.
The sneering Cnut.
4.6 million!!!!???
We’re 3rd bottom of the league in a ground that’s creaking with literally no saleable (on the pitch) assets.
If I was going Notts tomorrow i’d end up nicked.

Aren't Oxford in a similar situation where all matchday sales (except tickets) go to Kassam, whilst charging rent for them to play at the ground too?

Your situation at the moment seems scarily similar.
