It'll probably be 0 - 0.

Our form has been dire but we did a little better against Coventry on Tuesday. Remains to be seen if this was a case of performing better against a bigger team or we have actually turned a corner.

I don't expect anything from this game, just treat it as a bonus if we do actually manage to get a point or 3.

Only a win will do for me. We are in poor form currently, and it's almost a given we'll have to do without Jabo once again, but then again Boro are also in poor form so Derry better not come up with any more shite if we don't get all 3 points. I reckon we'll win this though I would've been much more confident if Jabo was playing. I'm pretty sure this won't be a goal less draw, actually I think both sides will find the net, so I'm going for a 2-1 U's win.

I'd like to see us playing a 4-3-2-1 formation, though I suspect Derry will go for a 4-4-2, with Lewis partnering Deagan in midfield. But this is what I'd like us to go with -

Forde
Halliday - Legge - Taylor - Carroll
Mingoia - Deagan - Dunk
Brown - Elito
Uche

Goes without saying that Brown and Elito will have to drop back and help out Deagan when Boro are in possession of the ball, and tbh Deagan will need all the help he can get as I certainly would not play him seeing he's been very poor lately. Thing is there's nobody to come in for him with O'Neil also sitting out missing this one.

Derry Out NOW.

I used to really look forward to the matches vs Cambridge back in the Conference days. There was always an edge to them, both sides competing for or competing in the play-offs. Our Football League meetings just don't have the same feel to them.

Anything could happen this weekend, haven't played well for a while now so could do with a positive result and performance this weekend. Can't see it though, reckon it'll be a draw 1-1 or 0-0.

Absolutely agree with this Captain, much better games in the Conference, was a while ago though.
I'd be more than happy if this was a draw, I can't see it though.

Gutting to concede 3 mins before the end. We played better than I thought but we should have really put away some of our chances.

Sums it up that the Cambridge keeper got MOTM.

Pretty dour match I can understand the Derry Out shouts.

Thank god for David Forde, MOM for me. Best outfield player was deffo Elito, he did a great job in an unfamiliar role, and if I were Derry I'd go with him and O'Neil for the time being. Or at least until Deagan starts to look like he can be arsed. Like my fellow U's, I haven't seen enough of players like Amoo and Osadebe to actually dismiss them completely, but I reckon Deagan has been the biggest disappointment so far.

Sorry Boro fans, deserved at least a point there if I'm being honest. I can't actually believe how lucky Derry has been this season.

Derry Out NOW. If a little over 3k home fans isn't a clear sign that we've had enough then I don't know what is.

EDIT - Well Deagan will be missing for some time apparently. Honestly don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Did Derry really just say that was a deserved win?

Never been that despondent at getting a winner, that'll keep Derry comfortably in his seat until after Christmas now, he should be giving David Forde whatever the hell he wants this morning.

Terrible game of football.

That's the way I feel too.

Sadly it also almost certainly means that Derry will get to spend whatever January budget there is. Given that he almost spent it on Ollie Palmer in the summer I'm resigned to us wasting yet more cash on a big useless lump.

I've given up on the idea that the board will sack Derry anytime soon so I celebrated the goal just like any other U's goal, probably more so if I'm honest as I'd waited long enough to see us score a bloody goal. I know footy is a results driven business, but I just can't bring myself to wish defeat on my side. Mind you, I don't know what I'd do if I knew for certain that Derry was getting the sack if we lost 3 or 4 games on the spin, but I'm pretty sure that DD and Jez will let Derry's contract run down even if we find ourselves looking over our shoulders. Not only that, but I don't think they'll even listen if we organise a mass boycott like not going to home games or something similar.

Anyway, I'm fairly sure Derry will not be here next season. I don't think we'll offer him a new contract, and even if we did, I think he'll turn us down. I expected Derry to be sent off to the stands for over exuberance after Uche got the winner, but instead he acted like he was Boro's manager and his side had just undeservedly lost the game. Totally devoid of emotion after an 88th min goal is baffling to say the least.

Got the best of this one. just tuned in to discover we won - which compensates for an Aussie who's joined our perambulations gloating about some game that recently finished and also involved 11 a side. Off to Lesotho tomorrow.
