This show is utter shite now, shit acting, poor directing, lazy writing, cheap budget.

It's just all so crap compared to what it used to be and that new group showing up at the end, who the hell are they? The Goth Community? I thought it was supposed to be the apocalypse and all of a sudden there are now all these new big groups of random people showing up who are even more absurd than the last.

The TV show has lost its way big time, I can see it ending pretty soon.

Were they not the female group from before the break?

Does anyone remember the black man who went missing on the scavenge in that episode by the way?

What do you mean?

They're all just sat in that studio raving about how great The Walking Dead is. I find it pretty annoying because if you watch the programme then it's clear that is not the reality. Negan is the most fantastic villain to have ever walked the earth. Rick's soul-searching is so relevant we can all feel it.The writing is apparently fantastic.

I feel how I imagine a Soviet citizen would in late 1980s, hearing radio broadcasts preaching about the greatness of Soviet tractor farming while there's bugger all on the shelves. The writing has been so pants. I don't think I could handle more than five minutes of it.

I know I hate seeing those lying fake smiling wankers rave about how great they think it is when it's obviously a amassive pile of shite now.

What did Michonne say? "We're the ones that survive?" Ha ha bye Michonne, welcome new black character, whoever you turn out to be.

I'm just going to give this shitty show a couple more episodes in the false hope that it gets good again, if it doesn't then I'll gladly stop watching it!

It's had its day.

Not necessarily... that's actually a quote from the comic books. In the books, at this stage, Rick actually gets with Andrea instead of Michonne. Remember Andrea? Yes, that bitch who basically sided with the Governer. In the books she never actually did that shit and is still alive. But basically, as the last two from the original people in the very first group (baring in mind, Daryl is there too on the TV show, but he's not in the books at all), they kind of have this theme between them that, no matter what, they always survive. And they always come out with those sorts of lines... so I guess Michonne is stealing that, even though it doesn't quite make as much sense because they've not got that "been there since the start" deal going on.

What's happened to the priest by the way? Did I miss something before the break?

Oh who fucking knows. If anything happened to cause him to do what he did, nobody remembers. Just a random, shit, cryptic piece of writing from the writers most likely. He'll turn out to be doing something for the good of the group but for some reason told nobody for no good reason. BTW, did we all see that other head pop up in his car as he left just before the credits started to roll btw? I actually missed it but my brother spotted it so we went back to see it again... no fucking idea who's with him. Probably just a crew member who accidentally popped his head up too early and nobody noticed.

If anyone started watching The Walking Dead from where it is now without seeing any previous seasons then they'd think what the fuck is this crap and why has it been so popular?

The standards of writing and directing of the show has been dropping almost every episode since around the time Ricks group attacked that Saviour outpost in Season 6. The first episode of Season 7 was great though I'll admit but apart from that nearly every other one has been awful.

I wonder why it has fallen to such low levels all of a sudden? It's a real shame because it had so much potential.

Terrible again.

What was the silence and the quirkiness of The Scavengers all about? It's as though a teenager wrote it.

The Walking Dead is just so cheesy now.

Let's face it, lots of things about this show have changed.

What was once a fairly gritty zombie show that emphasized grim realism (in as much as this kind of show can be "realistic") has shifted toward something a lot more like a comic book. We now have communities ruled by kings who talk like fake Shakespearean actors.

We have a super-villain who anthropomorphizes his bat and makes terrible jokes all the time, in between spouting off nursery rhymes.

We have one community that's all female and shoots anyone on sight, and another community that dresses all in black, doesn't speak or show any emotion, and is ruled over by a woman who talks weird for no reason and gives orders with hand gestures also for no apparent reason.

Yet we still watch this shit. :ffs:

I won't quit because I have invested so many man hours into The Walking Dead but it is absolutely shocking at the minute.

It's miles away from the level of Breaking Bad, The Wire, etc. They had what was potentially one of the best shows on the television, but it has been let down by such consistently poor writing.

Someone said that it would have been better on a different television network and it's hard to disagree.

It does come down to the show runners and they've messed up big time, an awful storyline with regular characters having identity crisis's and all these new weird farfetched characters and communities that are completely absurd and like I said it has just become very cheesy and unrealistic when compared to previous seasons. It's like it has become some low budget show from the 90s.

I sit down watching episodes now thinking how much worse can this get? I just seem to watch it now for the sake of watching it.

I've been following this thread from afar and have felt some of the criticism was a little harsh and people should just take it for what it is.

However, yesterday's episode was absolutely abysmal. Where have all these communities sprung up from? What the hell are these scavengers about, and why are they acting like some weird cult rather than normal human beings? Why have they got a walker dressed in armour like something from the labyrinth?

It's like the writers realise there's no possible way Rick's group can defeat the saviours so are just making people up from thin air to increase his army.

I will carry on watching as I've also invested too much time already but this is becoming pathetic.

Felt like I was watching a low budget sci-fi movie/Star Trek at times.

What with the shitty green screen, the strange lady and THAT zombie.

ALSO I really don't get the point in the writers continuously putting Rick into these "close to death" situations. You'd think they'd use the more exciting parts of the show more wisely given the rest of the shit they fill it out with, but we all know the end result when they put the main character in harms way.

That fucking community. Where to start. Let's try with this:

Why in the fuck are they like that? What in the fuck? They feel almost post-post apocalyptic. They feel like the sort of thing that would spring up several generations after civilization has collapsed and then been rebuilt and THEN several generations have passed and they now speak in some new form where language has been made shorthand with gestures, whistles and words replacing sentences. If you look around, it's generally agreed that less than 2 years has passed in the TV show. TWO YEARS. And they're acting like that, talking like that, looking like that, and living in trash, basically acting like they're living in the world of Mad fucking Max. Maybe, in the far, far future, you could say that it'd be plausible for such a society to exist (but even then, I'd probably say fuck off)... but these people, two years ago, were working in offices and going to shops and living normal lives.

And then there's this;

Rick goes and gets guns off of a boat, which is set up to be VERY tricky. This establishes that he is very skilled and capable of getting guns in difficult circumstances.

Rick then finds his way to trash heap city, with very little to go on, once again proving how fucking good he is at getting shit done.

Rick is then forced to fight a monster from Resident Evil or some shit to prove that he... is skilled, capable and good at getting shit done...? In the process, he impales his hand and takes a cut on his leg.

Now they want him to go and get guns for them.

So, in making him fight that thing to prove stuff they ALREADY FUCKING KNEW in the first place, he is now no longer at 100% when he goes to get said guns.

Smart.

Yes it was as if this episode was written by a 12 year old.

Latest episode wasn't so bad, still a bit wacky but nowhere near as bad as the previous two.

Incinerate a doctor because you have a hunch with no actual evidence and replace him with a guy you've known 5 minutes who claims to be a doctor but hasn't actually performed any surgery on anyone or anything else to prove it. Legit. But he did have an idea about molten metalling up your goon defence so obviously a genius.

When Negan said he had a second Dr Carson he literally meant it, the Hilltop doctor, is also a Dr Carson, the toasty doctor's brother.

I like Eugene, he's such a wet lettuce. Average episode though.

Can we just get to the big war between Negan and Rick and his unlikeable bunch of wankers? Also, are the Scavengers meant to be the Whisperers?

Spoiler this just incase.

No, they have such a sick gimmick with the whole wearing the dead as a second skin, can't see them being introduced until end of season 8 at the earliest with were we're at on the timeline
