We thumped Huddersfield away in the reverse fixture, we are on the crest of the wave with momentum in our favour, so this game is bound to be a bum clenching 0-1 with ten minutes to play. :ffs: However, ever the optimist I am backing Spurs to give me a stress free Saturday afternoon. Hudds will be relaxed and happy after that W against the Baggies, nothing to lose against Spurs at Wembley, just hope they see Swansea at home a more important game next week. Just enjoy the experience, never mind the result, right chaps? You know it makes sense....

:) Happy with that, as hoped for a stress free afternoon. Huddersfield were incredibly negative, they only ventured out of their own half when they were 2-0 down, I really didn't understand what they were about. Sure, you can get something from a team like Spurs if you play a deep defensive game and hit them on the break, but to break means getting out of your own half. I lost count of the number of times I saw the Hudds team with 11 men in their own half. Their fans cheered them at the end, f*ck knows what for; turning up when it is a bit chilly?
Anyhoo, a valuable W to keep us in contention for top four, and a nice hors d'oeurve for the CL mid-week.

Talking balls.

We were poor in the first half and had to make a couple of tactical changes, but had a 1 on 1 saved at 1-0, should've been 1-1. Few minutes later Kane provides a wonderful assist on the break which our players simply don't have the quality to match. Stats show 100 passes for us in the attacking 3rd compared to your 177, hardly Guardiola v Pulis.

We cheer our players everywhere, it's a refreshing change from the typical Victor Meldrew attitude so many football fans have these days. We're realistic and know this is a dream for us, we've done really well to be on 30 points with 9 games to go. Relentless positivity is key in a position like ours.

Hoping to visit your new ground next season, looks great, Wembley certainly isn't for league games but nice for us to visit again and reminisce about May.

Agreed, you got one decent save out of Lloris, but that was the only time he had to stretch unless I am very much mistaken? I'm not "talking balls" mate, there was only one team out there today, be honest. I'll always face up when Spurs have been outplayed, it doesn't mean I'm being "disloyal", just saying what I see. "Town" have other fish to fry against the likes of Swansea to stay in the PL, I just thought today they were too defensive. I've seen similar opposition give Spurs a much harder time at Wembley...

Maybe not balls but I did think it was unfair. You were far from outplayed, I mean you cruised past Reál Madrid not long ago, whilst we lost to Burton Albion and had a record transfer spend of £1.6m less than a year ago, so you were never going to get outplayed.

It's a very tough one deciding how clubs like us approach these games. The gap is huge. It's not like what we're used to in the lower leagues where the big clubs have double our budget, you literally have 3 or 4 players that are worth more on their own than our entire club. I think Wagner has it right most of the time and after the couple of tactical tweaks today it was going as well as we could've hoped. When we beat Man Utd, we scored our 2 chances, had a bit of luck and fought intensely. The key is staying in the game for as long as you can and taking any rare chances. Today we didn't take our chance, but didn't disgrace ourselves and thus I feel our recent momentum hasn't really been damaged at all.
Our home game against you decided this approach from Wagner I think. We were too open and ambitious and ended up 3-0 down before half time despite playing quite well!

We now have a run of 5 games that basically decide our PL status, Swansea (H) Palace (H) Newcastle (A) Brighton (A) Watford (H)...

Sure, you have to play to your strengths whoever you are. I don't think Huddersfield done that today, but as you say no harm done. As it happens, I'd be glad to see Hudds stay up, less distance for the away games

I bet that injured ref was glad he wasn't having to control 2 of the more excitable touchline managers in the technical area - did he just sit on that chair all game!

Both teams will probably beat us when we visit as we should be pretty much safe by then.......
