He's got the talent to be one of the best around, just a shame it won't be with Liverpool. Ach well, so be it.

Nah. Good player who shows occasional brilliance but overall not top class. Shame to lose him of course, but as I've said before if Klopp and the club thought he was as good as he himself thinks he is he wouldn't be leaving because they'd have tabled an offer which made him stay.

How can you overrate EVERYONE

He's an ok central midfielder that will be a decent squad player for any club, and he will never be anywhere near "one of the best around".

If that's the way you want to deal with losing him by telling yourself that, then that's up to you. He clearly has the talent to become world class. Doesn't matter anyway we'll get someone ace in to replace him anyway. As long as he doesn't head off to an English club it shouldn't be too big a blow.

How very predictable. Someone disagrees with an instance of you vastly overrating a Liverpool player (as usual) and it's because they're dealing with him leaving. You know, rather than them having always thought they are a good player but not top class, even prior to any of this Can leaving on a free shit starting.

I'll personally go on record now stating that Can will never be world class. And before you accused me of the same bollocks you threw at Bilo, my view of his quality hasn't changed. Sad to lose him, but it's not the end of the world.

You've become a bit of a caricature recently Saltire.

Ok mate how about the fact that our central midfield is an area in need of strengthening, he's 24 and far from a regular starter in it? How does that equate to being potential world class

Remarkable

Potential is just that, not the finished article but has talent to push on and what I've seen can reach world class levels. He's started more games than Hendo has in the 6 even when Hendo is fit, and always plays (and generally plays well) in the European games. Think you and Pags discredit the lad, he's got us out of jail several times over the last couple of years.

Henderson is mediocre at best, saying Can has started more games than him doesn't mean a whole lot.

Take any current world class player, look at where they were at 24 (most of them will have been world class already), and compare them to Emre. It's not even close and this is genuinely ridiculous to the point that I'm beginning to wonder if you're even serious.

Like what is he going to be world class at? He's not very good at defending, he's not very creative, he doesn't score a lot (7 in 95 appearances for us) ... world class talent, is he fuck. In fact, I think he will always struggle to be a regular in any top team because he lacks the stand out talent required. He's just not very good at anything, but rather decent at everything. Which is fine for a squad player.

Salts applying the Mignolet factor to Emre.
The penny will drop one day. Took a while with the Belgian but it happened eventually. We'll get there. We're all in this together. We all just need to do our best for poor Salts.

Suffice to say I think it's clear why you didn't quote anyone when using the word 'average'.

Big fan of Can, he has all the attributes to be top class but he doesn't have enough consistency to make it that far.

Sexy bastard too.

Because no one claimed he was average Saltire, contrary to your claim. Keep up mate.
Ok maybe I have been getting my wires crossed a bit as I've been debating Can elsewhere and the word average was raised. I just don't get you and Bilo's indifference to him, or fail to see the - in my mind - obvious potential he has. I've got a nasty feeling he'll be a City player in the summer and watch him hit his peak with them. I hope not. We need to sign one of the best DM's around to replace him I reckon to soften the blow if he does stay in the PL.

I'm not indifferent. And I definitely don't want him to leave as he offers a lot in terms of backup, and I've already said he shows occasional glimpses of brilliance. But he's not a match winner. Nor is he as good as he thinks he is judging by his comments. The only reason he could end up moving to one of the big continental clubs or City is not because they believe he offers anything substantial to their setup, rather because they can get their hands on a handy backup option on a free.

I'll say it yet again. He's only moving because Klopp and the club don't rate him enough to pay him the deal he wants. I don't believe he actively wants to leave, rather he thinks the prospect of him leaving on a free should mean the club pay him more than he's worth in order to stay. And the club have called his bluff and are rightly refusing to be held to ransom in such a way by a player who sits on the fringe between the first team and backup. By contrast if we were talking about the likes of Mane or Firmino this wouldn't be happening because the club would have made far more of an effort to keep them as a result of their comparative importance.

They're getting him on a free so providing they don't pay him stupid wages then they're getting a good deal. But paying stupid transfer fees and wages is what some clubs do as they have no thought to what they spend.

Salts why do you think he'll go Citeh? They've got Gundogan as a fringe player ffs, a player far better than Can, they'll bring in Fred, so him n 'dinho will be in competition for starts. Can simply doesn't get in a Citeh matchday squad.

Rumours are Salah will be given a 200k a week contract to keep him at Anfield. Can is also after a 200k a week deal to keep him at Liverpool.
