Not really cut it at this level just yet as he? Only young still mind. But having seen him a few times between Swansea and England U21, and on TV Championship games, it'd seem a right gamble for me. And that's if he plays regularly, sitting on your bench won't do him much good either!
19M quid for someone who's never scored a fucking goal, wtf.

Yep, they're two players at similar stages. Both unproven at this level, gambles, both need games. 18m for Wolves suggested, also similar. Your point?

Edit - Abraham might be a loan now rather than 18m permanent? If he does well, that asking price only goes up.. But if he flops it's no biggie, so less risky in that respect on a loan.

Sorry it just amused me to retrospectively stumble on those posts.

He's not good enough for Chelsea either.

Can't get Higuain?

Go for the next best and logical choice in Callum Wilson.

Textbook.

Reportedly it's Zola who is the big fan of Wilson at Chelsea and is driving any interest they have. I don't know how much power in choosing transfer targets an assistant manager would have? I'm guessing they won't go after someone for good money unless Sarri, and probably even people over Sarri's head, also rate a player.

If he were to go somewhere, no matter how silly the price, it would currently leave us with Josh King (who is awesome in purple patches but anonymous at other times), and a currently unproven and unfit Solanke. Not ideal.

Saints selling Gabbiadini seems odd Harv - He's at least a natural goal scorer, and you aren't exactly flush with those? Got something else up your sleeve?

Oh no! Newcastle's loan bid for Gelson Martins is being gazumped by Monaco, otherwise it definitely would have happened.

Still at least we are 100% still keen on signing Mario Balotelli.

Cedric to Inter Milan on loan.

So, he’ll now need replacing. Any danger of an incoming?

Sounds like Charlie Austin is off too. Villa/Wolves interested. Would be an awful signing for Wolves.

We lost Koeman to Everton due to budgets, the need to weaken the squad before adding to it and obviously wages. Good to see we've learnt from past mistakes when we've got our best manager in years. I can't go back to the likes of Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes football.

Signing Jonny Castro for £18m, a nice tidy £12m profit for Atl Madrid without even playing him.

Newcastle are close to agreeing a deal worth around $27m with Atlanta for striker Miguel Almiròn. A deal has advanced significantly over the past 24 hours. Will be a club record

Newcastle finally gonna beat their transfer record?

I wish we could spend as much money as Newcastle.

It's crazy to think that not one team in the Premier League is brave enough to take the Dortmund approach and gamble on world class potential. Honestly, what would stop a mid-table side from approaching Greenwood or any other next-level 17 year old and promising them game time? Why spend twice as much for a player with half the potential? I think there'd be great rewards for a club that was actually brave enough to go for it.

Real Madrid have agreed a deal in principle worth £88m to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea, according to Sky sources.

The deal will include significant add-ons and Sky Sports News understands Chelsea wanted around £130m.

Hazard has only 12 months left on his contract and he has told Chelsea he wants to move to Real Madrid.

Chelsea might not be able to sign a replacement due to a two-window transfer ban.

Not really a shock to anyone I'd have thought.

Time for Hudson-Odoi to get his real chance now, especially if Chelsea can't sign a replacement

You would think he has matured a bit by now after having played in Italy, Mexico and Sweden presumably away from all the degenerates he used to associate with.

How many more chances is he going to get over here?

It's for wilder to decide on his attitude, hes going to Portugal with the team next week too.
