North End have signed Declan Rudd from Norwich, 3yr deal, undisclosed fee.

Don't think he impressed for Charlton but he was good for us, our coaching staff will get him back on track.

Good competition with him and Maxwell.

Signed Ben Williams on a free. Former Blackburn yoof who had a trial spell with our U23 squad at back end of last season. Also given contracts to about half a dozen of our own academy graduates.

Latest rumours are Liam Lindsay from Patrick Thistle and Cameron McGeehan who broke his leg in January. Playoffs at least I reckon.

Also Declan Rudd has signed for Preston on a 3 year deal.

Looks like we're signing Danny Williams, Reading fans what's the crack?

Looks a good player to have in the middle, scored some decent goals in the past too?

What about Taylor? Smith and anyone else used to plug the hole.

If ze germans couldn't cut it I don't expect the Italian to
Taylor as a right back.... Hegeler should be a big player next season, needs to get up with the pace of English football but he has fantastic pedigree.

In other news, Declan Rudd signed for PNE this evening, three year deal.

One of the best players in the league for me, a consistent and reliable performer.

This, would love him at Wednesday.

Along with Declan Rudd but he's joined PNE on a three year deal, in case no one had mentioned it.

Anything but a right back, looked completely out of place there against Forest. That isn't an option.

We were linked with McGeehan back in Jan but pulled out of the deal because of the injury. Wouldn't be surprised if we go back for him now.

First half of the season he was great, but then missed a bit of the season through injury.

Came back and was not good at all, few clangers, never looked comfortable coming out to claim, seemed to drop nearly everything. Was annoying as he's obviously a good keeper so not quite sure what happened.

Great in his first season with us, exceptional the past six months, although the 2 seasons in between was very meh (around a poor team it has to be said). I think playing in a possession orientated team this season has really helped his play.

He's a box-to-box midfielder, high energy, and capable of popping in with the odd goal.

Not sure he is Premierleague ready on a consistent basis, but one of the best at this level on his day. Only real weaknesses are his dribbling and decision making.

Was no chance we were realistically able to afford to keep him. Will be interesting to see how he does. Assuming he will be back-up/occasional starter?

I think it'll end up being a better transfer than Declan Rudd joining Preston.

About that. I mean, why spend millions on nuggets like McCormack who can't even get out their front drive eh?.....top scorer in the SPL - for half a million. Could be a bargain, could be a dud.
I agree with you, I'd much rather have a solid knit team who cost very little than the current team who we've paid over the odds for and finished mid table. It wasn't a dig.

Hope he does well, but with Sinclair being second, it's not too encouraging, he was rather useless.

Burton are forced to take gambles at this level. £500k is what some clubs at this level would spend on a youth team player, not to mention the wages. I don't know much about this Boyce, but he's out-performed a number of high profile players this season and it's a gamble they can evidently afford to take.

Clough must be the biggest source of SPL players into the English leagues in the past decade. He's kept up the trend at whichever club he's been at. He's pulled some decent signings, mind.

There's an awful lot of value to be had up there, but that's partly because it is a league where some very average players can do well.

It's a risk, but he's been very consistent up there for a couple of seasons, and if he's given time to adapt, who knows.

Hopefully he re-finds his form here, he knows the club and the coaching staff know his strengths and weaknesses. He's still relatively inexperienced for a keeper.

I still think Maxwell will start the season as Number 1 though, looking forward to a good battle between them.

Stevie May would be another example.

I'm hoping May gets a chance here this season after that horrific injury, I definitely think he has something about him and could be a bit of a surprise package for us. Wouldn't be the first player Grayson has got change out of.
