Rumours Forestieri might make way for Sheff Wed to sign Nick Powell? bizarre, Forestieri is miles better than him. Isn't Powell equally as injury prone?

Anyone know much about Danny Loader at Reading? We're supposedly putting together a bid for him.

Strange signing IMO

Not really Ken. He's a low risk signing by Championship standards on low wages (comparative). If it works, great, if it doesn't, we've not lost a huge amount.
We've got a few of these TBH, Eisa, Adelukan, Szmodics (looks likely). All relatively cheap, from lower divisions. When one comes off, a la O'Dowda, join the queue at £6M minimum. Josh Brownhill was another promising youngster, didn't cost a lot but would be worth a hell of a lot of money now, if we wanted to sell him, which we most certainly don't.

To be fair Bristol City is turning into a bit of a graveyard for lower league players. I remember Mo Eisa having his pick of options last summer and he hasn’t been seen since choosing Bristol. If I were a lower league player, I’d always pick Brentford or PNE over them because I know they’ll give me a fair crack of the whip.

Can't see Forestieri leaving, no way will anyone pay what Chansiri wants for him. On his day one of the very best but we can hardly get him out on the pitch, his best position is wide left but Bruce will never play him there in a 4-4-2, if someone offered 7M+ I'd seriously consider. Think he needs a fresh start as much as we do too.

Apparently interested in Sam Morsy from Wigan, struggle to see that happening though considering he's their captain, under contract and still only 27. Don't think we'll be throwing that kind of money around.

You wouldn’t as you’d be getting offered the wage here.

We’ve signed Mike Bahre on a permanent deal. Very happy with that, especially if the rumoured £130k fee is accurate, bargain.

He was injured for a fair period this season and LJ has intimated that he hasn't reached the levels necessary once fit.
I would imagine he'll be gone soon judging by a radio interview LJ gave yesterday.

Sounds like we’re signing Christian Norgaard, DM from Fiorentina, no idea on fee probably £2m or so.

Looks like Adam Davies is about to sign for Stoke. Not going to pretend I'm not disappointed but we're not going to be able to match their offer and to be fair they would seem the better prospect with regards to next season and also his Wales international claims.

That's three free agents they've signed now then, probably telling about their financial situation after last summer.

Deepest sympathies at this difficult time.
Can't moan after last season. I'm quite positive about it as he said as long as the club matches his ambition he'll stay as it was always the job he wanted and last summer there was some friction between Johnson, Lansdown and Ashton (our CEO) in regards to amount spent so looks like we could be in for a big summer.

I'd rather have neither. One's archaic the other is a fucking bellend
Johnson seems to rile a lot of other fans, particularly those of clubs like Wednesday, Villa, Leeds etc who believe they shouldn't even be playing in this division. Cotterill had the same effect, it's great.

I didn't like Johnson when he was at Oldham or Barnsley, it's is voice, you're a fickle c*** though JJH, how many times have you wanted him gone?

Who said I'm even a fan of him now? I never have been; I would've been happy for him to have this last year on his contract and him go if we didn't make top six if he was backed but given he's been saying publicly about the board matching his ambition etc and the job he did last year which you'd be a fool to try and suggest anything than it being a decent one, it's hard not to be slightly excited about the forthcoming window.

I think he's too hit and miss to be successful, the hot runs followed by the multiple successive losses, had he not been balls deep in Lansdown he would have been sacked for that type of thing elsewhere. The noises you're coming out with have been here before have they not, the bids for Gray etc when not backed up with wages, suspect it will be more of the same again and fans lap it up.

Do you think you'll splash big this summer? Genuinely?

They were but it's not comparable, had this discussion the other day.

In the summer of 2015 we'd only just got into the Championship and were averaging 12,000 at home with a ground that was half done. We're now in a position where we're averaging 9,000 more than that at higher prices, we've got the rugby at Ashton Gate, concerts, all the money from the events such as the England games in the summer and all the concerts tonight etc. Our income has absolutely soared so there is a lot more leeway with FFP and as you can see our wage bill has grown considerably since 2015.

That approach in 2015 was daft and it could've had us in a lot of financial trouble like yourselves or Derby are in as an example. Now we've raked over 60m from player sales in the last few years and have real room for manoeuvre in the transfer market.

I don't envisage us chucking 15m at players here and there, but I would be very surprised if there wasn't some real quality added to the side in the summer that costs a fair bit. We're a much more attractive proposition and in a much better position now than we were four years back.

Also I agree with you at any other club Johnson wouldn’t have lasted as long a season he did here, we may well end up reaping the rewards but I don’t know. I’d have sacked him a few years ago.

According to Pete O’Rourke, Aston Villa have tabled a £7.5m bid for James Justin.

That would more than double our transfer record. Wow.
