Apparently he approached us, after he was told he was leaving Leeds, he specifically wanted to join us.

Sounds barmy but why else would it be happening?
Seen a thread on social media, apparently been parachuted out by Bielsa due to discipline, blaming teammates publicity etc, his behaviour against Villa and just generally not being a team player. Got no offers from the Prem and his missus wanted to move to London.

Good player, complete knobhead though hence why he’s being sold for that and why you’re signing him.
If there was anything seriously bad enough that we were the only club interested, especially at that price, I doubt we would have been the ones to sign him (especially breaking our transfer and wage records) given our track record over the last few years.
Though we are exactly the type of club to take advantage of a situation that lowers a players asking price.

I’m sure you weren’t the only ones, but I doubt there was interest from the bigger clubs in this league and PL, otherwise you wouldn’t have got him.

Great signing if he gets his head down, I just saw on Twitter you’re close to signing a Danish player for 4m. Having a right go, fair enough.

Weird really. About 5x the player Webster is and available for a snip of the price. Transfer window is a nonsense this year

Hallelujah we’ve done a bloody signing! David Marshall’s in on a free. Happy with that, should be a solid stopgap for a couple of years whilst Owen Evans builds up his reputation on loan.

Wonder where Walton will end now, my guess is Brighton either wanted too much or would only let him out on loan, so we moved on.

A great player at Cardiff City (would put him as one of the top five players I have seen at the club alongside Robert Earnshaw, Graham Kavanagh, Michael Chopra and Jay Bothroyd).

Ironically, he'll be going up against us in his first match - wonder if he'll do the Ayatollah...

Muric finally signs. Chuffed with that

Think we need a couple more, particularly someone to support Grabban.

And then for the exodus...

Adomah coming in on a free. Happy with that too. He’s not the youngest but he’s kept himself fit and been a good player at this level for a few years now.

Him, Lolley, Ameobi and Appiah as our wingers gives us plenty of options. Really excited to see how Appiah does - he’s rated as the best thing our academy has produced ever so let’s see.

Mathias Jensen should be having a medical tomorrow before joining from Celta Vigo for £2.2m. Looks like a creative CM type player.

I reckon all we need after this is some cover at full back and we’ll be done. Expect to see some departures soon though, probably one of Sawyers / Mokotjo as their contracts are up soon. Hopefully we’ve done enough to convince Benrahma & Maupay to stay but I imagine one of them will go.

We’re well within FFP (cumulative loss last three years is around £13m) so no issues on that front, but we’ll obviously sell if we get a good enough offer.

He’s probably the one I’d keep but imagine we will try and sell him

Sheffield United want Osborn too which is a shame but think his time here is over

I'd definitely take a punt on Tyler Walker here.

Sam Gallagher deal has fallen through over wages. Can’t say I’m not happy about it. Far too big a spend for a striker of his record. He’ll probably go to Blackburn and end up the same way as Brereton.

Some noise he might end up here but while we were interested a couple of years ago he’s too expensive for what he is now.

Didn't Redknapp pay a £3m loan fee for him?

He's been a decent little earner for Southampton.

Never impressed me.

What's the craic on Connolly?

A very good centre back for Championship level, hasn't played too much for us in the past few seasons though and probably won't be an automatic starter for us (Manga, Morrison and Bamba will be ahead of him).

31, experienced, would definitely do a decent job for Luton Town.

Westwood signs new 2 year deal, as expected, big bit of business for us. No idea why the other 2 haven't been announced today too.

Is it January?

Did wonder that - it had cropped up on one of the CCFC forums that he had signed something today... I was worried I had been transported back in time!

Villa now closing in on Konsa for £12m.

Wonder if Roland will give Bowyer any of the sell-on clause :pond:
