I'd like to think so but who knows, the player might want to sample a new city. I think Pep/City are happy with what we did with Nmecha so might work in our favour.

Supposedly his mate Luka Ilic was coming with him.

Alan Nixon reckons we're in for Marc Bola from Blackpool. 21 year old left back so presumably a JJ replacement for when he departs for Leicester (surely the £12 million fee rumour is bullshit, maybe if all the add-ons come in but even Gary Sweet isn't that good at negotiating to get that much for a guy who hasn't even kicked a ball at Championship level yet).

Can't say I recall Bola but Blackpool fans seem to rate him.

Looks on paper to be a good signing, goal scoring midfielder which without Lee in the team we've seriously lacked. However I just can't see where we are going to get the 3M quid from unless Chansiri has found a loophole.

We’ve been linked with Turnbull a few times. I’d take him given the success of McGinn last year, 3m is a cheap gamble given what we’ve raked in on transfer fees the last few years.

Brentford’s asking price for Maupay is supposedly 10 million euros according to the Spanish press. I find it hard to believe but if it is I’d pay that.

Yeah its only 1.5x what you get in funding every year from the League.
But yeah "I'd pay that" without much thought.

No chance, unless he has a release clause.

Just a quick look at our transfer history shows that’ll be bollocks, he’d also have left already.

Given our sales in the last 12 months Ken, we're in a good place to be able to spend that IF we wanted to.
Whether we do is another matter.

At the moment, I just hope the rumours about Adam Webster are false as he's our best player by some margin.

OK I didn't realise that you took in something like £40m in fees last year. I'm still getting used to the nonsensical amounts players are going for in this division - and I include our own full backs in this.

Turned down a second bid from an unnamed Prem side for Callum Robinson. I'd be shocked if it isn't Sheff Utd.

You can add Everton to the list of clubs that are tracking James Justin, according to Liverpool Echo / Twitter. Blimey.

He is going to be earning some serious wages from someone in the next few weeks and make us a real wedge. And fair play to him for such a grounded guy.

Obscene amounts being spent in this division Ken. At some point, someone will go pop.
The money aspect is one of the hardest things to get used to on promotion TBH. Unless teams have got rich owners / buy cheap, sell on at huge profits, it's very hard to compete TBH.
Parachute payments only add to the carnage. Championship clubs are spending 8 figure fees which seems mad in all honesty but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't join those clubs this summer.

You idiots are boring everyone already, fuck off.

Didn’t think so. Would think it’d be closer to 20.

We have signed Lee Wallace and Liam Kelly. Never seen either of them play but we needed a left back, and he seems to be an attacking one. Plus, he was captain and we definitely need more leaders out there so we stop going on 6 game losing runs.

Kelly sounds promising. A GK that has made it into the Scotland squad and was getting some very good reviews despite being in a poor team; so he'll fit in well.

We need to sell Ingram now, as we don't need him. Or Lumely to go, which I wouldn't be upset with either. Heard rumours of Bristol City wanting him a few weeks back but then didn't hear anymore about it.

Should be bringing in a permanent signing this week according to the LEP, no idea who. Alex Neil has talked about upping levels and waiting for the best possible option so i'll be a bit annoyed if it isn't someone who can come in and improve the first eleven.

Think we might be signing Bauer from Charlton, seemed the Ewood Galacticos were very keen on him.

Bobbin' thoughts on Bauer?

Solid enough centre half for this level. A clanger in him, you can expect him to gift the opposition a goal at least 3 times a season with a dodgy back pass or something but generally more than makes up for it over the course of a season and is a goal threat from set pieces.

Obviously disappointed we can’t offer him what others can (or rather, won’t offer him what others will)

The fact that whoever ends up with him won’t be paying a fee means they’ll have a very good deal I’d say.

Confirmed.

Actually quite pleased with it. Obviously a massive step-up but completely trust Bowyer and Steve Gallen, every signing last season was spot on so I’m not going to argue with their judgement and supposedly been watching him for quite a while and considered a move for him in January.

who's making managerial decisions at orient since their manager passed away ?

Not sure, but apparently 200k triggered the release clause so guess nothing could be done about it anyway.

IF, he signs then I imagine we will have paid a very good signing on fee if the rumoured interest in him is true as there's bound to be clubs offering a better basic.

True enough.

Still a good deal I think, he’s a good Championship centre half. Which makes it more infuriating that we’re just letting him walk away, but there we are.

Doesn’t sound close our end though? Article just gone out saying that all of yourselves, Blackburn and Wigan are battling for his signature.
