I have a hard time believing that. I can't see Barnet's budget being that bad and from the outside seem far better equipped to challenge than Chesterfield. For Allen to go surely there has to be a good amount of money on offer, especially as it seemed TK really wanted him to stay?

Rumour Mill is suggesting a deal has been agreed to bring in Ashley Palmer from Guiseley. Due to be announced once Jim Gannon returns from holiday.

Can't say I know much about him other than he was part of the NFU team that got promoted out of the NLN.

Wrong, we weren't after him at all. He applied for the job here not the other way around, Lester was always the boards first choice as they knew he'd take the pressure from the fans away because he's a legend down here.

I mean, no it's not. You wanted Lester, he wasn't available/was unwilling. MA applies/is approached and you're very keen. Deal is virtually done, board check with Lester one last time/he changes his mind and informs the board. They cancel the MA deal and go with Lester instead.

That's how it panned out. Up to you if you want to believe that or not.

Not player rumours, but our manager Daryl McMahon is attracting interest from the League and our owner has confirmed clubs have approached us. Given that he's only a year into a five year deal, he won't come cheap. Our owner has said he's going nowhere, but you never know in this day and age! Would be a big loss, that's for sure.

Had him on trial last summer, looked a decent enough winger, he seemed to have an end product.

He started well at Sutton I think, but his season faded due to personal reasons I think.

Sounds like Devante Rodney is on his way to Salford, I think he has something to offer, totally raw and often doesn't resemble a footballer but he has genuine pace and power, maybe with a bit of decent coaching he'll turn out to be a good one.

He was an easy target for abuse at Pools when we had experienced pro's letting the team down, I reckon this one is gonna come back and bite us.

He definitely divides opinion but like with most of the squad, not fussed he’s going. I agree our coaching isn’t good but Rodney didn’t show enough for me. Ideally should have been sent out on loan to the regional leagues to get a bit of confidence. He’s not a very intelligent player which makes me think this league is his ceiling. Could be proved wrong though.
