Simple as that. The squad is too complete and Jose produces victory after victory. The excitement will have to come from the race from 2nd-4th as United will top the table for the rest of the season I feel.

United have already won the league

NOPE ~ imo ~
I've never seen such a big and powerful Utd side. With speed and bustling overpowering their usual culture.

A culture that many Utd aficionados have followed over decades..... It may be the way ahead, who knows?
Can't see the Barcas and RMs, the Spurs and Bayern,
Juve,AC etc adapting quickly to such POWERHOUSE performances ~ if they can be maintained.

I watched both Utd matches, and me socks were blown off. Staggering power, overwhelming control.
Thundering performances as Jose said - He let the Horses loose...no more ponies .:bg:
Then.... Those victories.... It's against bottom clubs...the Jose Blitzkrieg ~ overwhelming and mind-snapping as it was
- hasn't faced serious opposition yet. Neither has Arsenal....Liverpool... etc.

But Utd has made impressive strides in perception, and Arsenal...Liverpool have chosen to refrain

United have already won the league

:bg:

HARDLY...but I've never enjoyed watching Utd in many...many years....as these last 10 days.

Here we go again. You Brits and your WWII metaphors

I can't help myself, Dirk, but I've always wanted to say this in a thread....... Don't Mention The War..!! :bg::bg::bg:

Seriously though, yes of course United have gotten away to a flyer and they will certainly be strong candidates to win the league. But nothing is ever decided after two matches. Injuries.... loss of form.... Alien abduction... anything can happen between now and May.

Other clubs will have a say in the issue. Chelsea are the most obvious challengers, Manchester City have the skill set and could challenge if they ever start playing at more than walking pace and errrr... that's about it, really. Spurs could win the league if they were anybody else but Spurs, Liverpool will remain maddeningly inconsistent. Arsenal? Sorry, but I just can't see it. Everton? Getting better but still not good enough.

If I were a gambling girl, my money would be on United.

Hey, Chris Powell's former team have had a good start and congrats to them for that. I hope they can establish themselves in the Prem. Good luck with that.

I wasn't following football when Addicks were in the Prem. In fact, it was when I started supporting them that we got relegated. My nephew blamed me for relegation. He told me in his blunt, adolescent way "Ever since you started supporting us, we keep losing. Auntie Jenny, you're a jinx."

Best I don't endorse Huddersfield, Warrior. With my record, it'd end in tears and I'd feel guilty about it. But I hope it all goes well for you.

Man City have to be the favourites. They already had the best attack in the league and now they've added Bernardo Silva to it and are getting a full season out of Gabriel Jesus. And their main issue last season was the fullbacks not being up to it but now they've invested £130m in brand new fullbacks which should fix that issue and make it easier for Pep to play his style.

Please don't reffer us as " Chris Powells former team" it was the worst quality of football I've ever seen at Huddersfield and that says something because we used to be in league 1 and 2 years ago

Just bantering with you. It's strange though, that you suggest he wasn't any good as a manager because he took Charlton up from League One as champions with over 100 points, and took us to an FA Cup Quarter Final. His sacking, Roland Duchatelet's first, set the tone for everything that has happened since and was the start of our decline into utter turmoil.

I can't imagine why things should have been so bad under an honest, hardworking, decent man who was a model professional in his day and who proved himself to be a competent manager when at the Valley.

But hey... water under the bridge. If it's all good at Huddersfield now, then it's not the time to be looking backwards. Best of luck to you.

There's no questioning the quality of the talent at Eastlands, just the pedestrian pace at which they stroll around the pitch. Sure, they can move up a gear when they need to, but for most of the games that I've seen so far, they're slooooooooooooooow.

It gives defences time to get their shape and mark up tightly, close off all the gaps and make sure the likes of Silva can't dictate in the manner that we know he can.

There is also the issue of the goalkeeper. The last one was 'orrible and the new one has already looked a little iffy. It's too early to tell and I wouldn't like to write him off yet because it's still early days. He may turn out to be brilliant. But he looked a little shaky against Brighton, flapped at crosses in the Everton match and let Rooney's shot go through him in a situation where top goalkeepers make saves that are the difference between one point and three.

Manchester City have the potential to put to the sword anybody who happens to catch them on a day when everything's clicking. But they just look a little fragile for my liking. Prone to the sucker punch and, Vincent Kompany excepted, not tough enough to roll up their sleeves and "get their hands dirty".

The best teams have that bit of steel running down their spines and I don't see that with City. They want to look pretty, play with style and win with a flourish. All very laudable, entertaining and breathtaking when it comes off.

But I wouldn't want them on my side in a punch up.

I hope your critique of City is borne out this weekend Piskie. Somehow I imagine they will start clicking and rattle in their usual raft of goals against Bournemouth!

Not quite in time for the Bournemouth match, Mark, but they appear to have found their shooting boots now.

Licking my lips at the prospect of the City vs United coming up. This will be a BIG three points for both teams.

I wouldn't get too excited, we'll park the bus and they'll still win.

Both Manchester teams had to labour hard to get their points this weekend.

United sweated to overcome an impressively resolute Brighton at the Superstore, while City "Found a way" to take the points away to a bullish Huddersfield.

At this stage of the season City look favourites, but United will hang in there and it City falter, they'll be well placed to pounce.

Spurs have blown it. Pochettino has admitted that. Liverpool and Arsenal are in good form right now but are too inconsistent over the long haul. We'd have to say that this is Manchester's title this season. At this time it has a rather blue tinge to it, but if United win the Derby.........

Mourinho shitting himself every time he visits a top 6 club will be the main difference this season. May as well hand the title to City now.

Yeah my United supporting mate said after their 0-0 draw at Anfield "draw away, win at home", which is incredibly stupid when Man City are winning away and winning at home. City had literally already been to Chelsea and won this season. United will have to attack us this weekend or they might as well throw in the towel, a point really is no good to them already.
