Interestingly our now ex-manager Neale Marmon was on the local news last night and said "A lot of people couldn’t get rid of their egos and had their own agendas. Instead of working together they were working against each other".
Sounds like the government.

The American businessman who was trying to buy us has implied it was the club who called off the takeover, not him. He was still keen.

God knows what's going on. Actually, probably not.

The current board now need to make a statement in answer to this.

I read somewhere that he failed the fit and proper test (could be total bullshit), which if true would be astounding as I don't think anyone can fail that given the Bessini fiasco at Bolton/Watford.

Hope all goes well financially for Yeovil and there fans, despite what you may think of them, it was an amazing climb from non-league to Championship and an equally 'impressive' fall back to where they came from.

If anyone had a particularly unpleasant lunch and wants help to vomit it back up again, I can recommend Football Focus who are currently devoting their time and attention to the potential fairytale that could be Salford's promotion to the football league. It's a real underdog story you know, this tiny little team clambering their way into the big time with nothing but good old-fashioned nous, a never-say-die attitude, a billion quid, and a troupe of Champions' League winning football pundits.

Apparently Gary Neville also had the cheek to call Accrington Stanley bankrolled, so there's that.

Fuck sake, come on Fylde. I may not approve of them buying their way into the league any more but at least their owner doesn't pretend to be some sort of Robin Hood character giving football back to the fans, or leverage his significant contact list for gain.

Ugh, pretty much everything that’s wrong with the Premier League rolling up into L2 then next year. God help who gets them first. Circus

Prepare yourselves for to be ignored in favour of Salford for the next 12 months. Prefix of “Salford beat/drew/lost to” in all national media coverage of L2.

Sickening.

Que the massive Beckham love in at the final whistle.
Horrible incarnation of a club.
Camera cut to him just after Salfords third. He was staring at his phone looking bored (guess he has to make time elsewhere in the day to check his WhatsApp messages these days)

Salford will probably finish top 7 next season, they'll splash the cash again. Shithouses.

Top 7? Autos I expect: bookies will be all over them. Any international break they’ll be the Sky TV pick too.

Circus.

Seen a few people on here say they're owners have money to splash - Don't doubt that, most football club owners do, even ours have paid a few transfer fees to help us get up this season.

But these lot will fuck it up down here next season now, heard that they're already looking at signing Lukas Jutkiewicz from Birmingham City - Just to give you an indication of the calibar of player that it will be they're looking to sign.

A few final nuggets of bullshit from BT Sport as full-time passes.

'a dream 79 years in the making'... that nobody ever even bothered to work towards until about 6 years ago.

'the money might help but there's also a lot of hard work behind the scenes'... I think the money more than just 'helps'.

'People have strong views for or against it but they earned their money with successful football careers and have chosen to put it back into non-league football'... Is this what putting money back into non-league football looks like then? Picking a team with no fans and then paying whatever it takes to ensure they have the best players available for their level of football. Real grassroots stuff.

Money's not the problem because lower league football is starved of money and most of us would happily see that sort of investment in our own clubs. The problem is what they invested the money in, not in a club with thousands of fans who desperately need it, but a club with no fans just minding their own business in the lower echelons of non-league who can be bankrolled and crowbarred into the league among clubs people actually care about who are constantly fighting for survival.

Salford's ground isn't that far from Bury, why didn't they invest in Bury instead, I mean God knows Bury need it.

It's funny seeing all these interviews with the players, talking about playing in L2 etc. Someone needs to tell them that most of them will still be in the Conference next season. They'll buy a whole new team bar one or two. It's Football Manager after all remember.

Not sure Alexander is the answer, either.

It's actually cut out for Steve Evans IMO, but I don't think any of them would get on.

Alexander will get a chance because of doing a decent job at this level before, wouldn't surprise me if hes sacked by October though if Salford are mid table.

I think we had a promotion bonus in Matt Green's move, so that's worked out well for us.

Rumour has it they're ready to bin him off already after he was sent off at Hartlepool on the last day.
