More to the point Scotland are going to rue not beating Lithuania in Glasgow

And England in Glasgow.

Nevertheless, delighted England won yesterday.

And, that's a truly horrendous result for Czech Republic. Laughing stock of Europe indeed.

England have the highest average attendance of any country in European World Cup qualifying.

Although Germany tour their home matches in near full stadiums of less capacity.
They would probably be up with us if they played all matches in a 90k stadium?

Because we are a "Bundesstaat" (federal state) we won't play all our home matches in our capital Berlin. That's against our "self-understanding" . Against small nations we try to play the matches in smaller capacity stadiums so that cities who normally won't see our national team can watch them too.
Anyway 67k for an England international at a working-monday is very respectable especially after the dull match against Malta

btw: Even with 24 points in 8 matches and 35 Goals (more than 4 per game) we aren't yet qualified for the World Cup thanks to Norn Iron with 19 points. Kudos!

We should play more of our games at Old Trafford, Etihad, St James' Park ect, it would improve the atmosphere massively. Wembley is such a soulless bowl full of day trippers.

He'll become the player he was meant to be at LFC once the dud programming of Wenger is out of his system.
Yes I've seen you posit that theory about twelve times now. I too am keen to see Klopp work his magic in the same way he worked it on Ragnar Klavan and Loris Karius. It should be thrilling.

Wales are wearing a yellow kit tonight. I don't know why, but it is a very nice one.

And Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, Mane, Hendo, Wijnaldum, Can, TAA etc etc. Yeah I think he's in the plusses tbh. ;)

It's not been reported much (if at all) over here but the German national team refused to go over and celebrate with their travelling fans after beating the Czech Republic on Friday due to a block of them singing Nazi-related songs and chanting "Sieg Heil".

"The chants were a catastrophe — really bad," fumed Hummels. "That started during the minute's silence, which showed the bad behaviour of some fans."

"Timo Werner was insulted and ridiculed, that is when the fans started shouting that shit."

"We distance ourselves completely from it and want nothing to do with it."

"That's why we didn't go (to the away fans)."

And if you don't think we aren't a vastly improved side since he's come in then your being very disingenuous.

On the contrary, I think you've improved a lot. From a mediocre team that wins no trophies to an exciting team that wins no trophies.

Yes, very shameful actions of some of our "fans". Not all of course but enough to do the damage. Those idiots will never learn and the reaction of our team was absolutely right. And Joachim Löw said afterwards that these are not the fans they are playing for.
Fortunately yesterday there was no such nazi-scum in Stuttgart and it was a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere again.

We'll be more in the hunt for major trophies than Arsenal thats for sure. And we've put ourselves in a position to challenge for them, thats all you can ask Smat. :)

Every fanbase has its section of idiots, mate - it's good that the players sent the message that shit like that is unacceptable by not going over to celebrate with them at the end. Of course, that is a shame for the majority who didn't cause trouble but that's the fault of the vocal minority.

Agreed, every fan base has their share of idiots.

Anyway, now to continue my conversation with SALTIRE...

Glorious, looking forward to seeing Liverpool's honours list updated with "2017-18: Challenged for the Premier League".

You will win nothing and that is a fact. Certainly not by signing Arsenal rejects.

If your classing Ox as a reject you must consider Sanchez as also a reject since you were willing to flog him to any old place on the last day of the window. Also what happened with one of your rejects the other year in Van Persie? Yeah Wenger is great isn't he. The fact that the champions wanted Ox tells us something too. Also when was the last time with your supposed world class side that you challenged for the league? Us, four years ago - I think with you lot its over a decade?

In fairness to you, both clubs have won precisely one major trophy each since Klopp arrived.

Moldova more resilient than anticipated, only had a couple of chances really. Bale hasn't really been at it yet.

Ireland beaten at home to Serbia, and with Wales winning in Moldova they climb above the Irish into second spot. Serbia looking good to go on and win the group now, some interesting fixtures coming up in the final 2 games of qualifying. The group containing Iceland, Croatia, Turkey and Ukraine is mental.

Not sure it matters. Likely to be lowest scoring second place.
