being green aint always a good thing...people look green when they're either sick, hungover or feeling shitty..
you must be referring to the united part of the city?

I'll probably go to Luton next season to be fair, prefer a shitty old stadium to the likes of Reading, Rotherham, Hull, Swansea etc.

I'm not going there on honeymoon, a pub's a pub.

To be fair oakroader, Luton is a bit of a tip WTGR. I used to work for Xerox when they had a base there so stayed quite often.
Sheffield is quite a nice city, bit too Northern for me but nice enough. Luton could do with some serious investment TBH.

Agree Luton is a tip and has deteriorated greatly over the years. Surprising really in view of it's obvious potential thanks to its geographical location and infrastructure. The club are doing their bit with the stadium and immediate area as well as a further project near the motorway. The football club does an awful lot for the community and while the current stadium is old and worn it does have a unique character and creates a decent atmosphere. A far cry from the modern bowl. Well worth a visit for those fans who haven't been. The new stadium will be different in many not just larger and modern with the fans in mind but the surrounding area will make it an enjoyable experience at least for the modern football fan. Personality I'd have the old KR back, terraces and all, with the old skool match atmosphere.

Never been to Luton, looking forward to that.

Barnsley is easy, we just never fucking win there when I go.

I've stayed over a couple of times when flying early from there and it ain't good, you wouldn't class yourself as being in England to be fair. On the other hand as an away day I'd say its spot on, theres a few real shitty old boozers and a shitty away end which personally I prefer, plenty will enjoy the away day.

Plymouth is in France oakroader, learn geography!! ;)
As for the 'Wales' comment, we were getting on soooo well! ;)
it's not our fault that there's a principality just down the road. At least we don't have to pay to cross the bloody bridge any more. Pay to get into England, all day long but paying to go into Wales was just totally wrong.

Graeme Jones officially appointed new Luton Town manager, starting work properly on Tuesday.

It’s rough, it’s ragged, but it’s easy to get around from the station, cheap as chips to drink in if you know the right places and the ground is as old school as it gets. It will be one of the better away days in the division for most folk, especially us tight arse Northerners.

So far we’ve replaced Norwich, Sheff Utd, Ipswich, Horwich and Rotherham with Huddersfield, Fulham, Luton and Barnsley. I’d say we’ve got the better end of the stick in terms of away days, although it’s a shame Sheffield is now probably off the menu.

Looking forward to some easy London away days on the train and a few new, local-ish grounds for me in Stoke and possibly West Brom, plus Swansea from further afield. The only thing I'm dreading is the ticket prices, was great to go to virtually every game for under 25 quid this season.
