You go on holiday to Mansfield? Feck me Nailsworth must be bad

Maybe he goes to sherwood pines, edwinstowe, centre parcs, rufford or clumber Park, newstead abbey the list within 5 miles or so is brilliant at this time of year. You wouldn’t expect that someone from England poorest city would be so snobby - plenty of places for your caravan round there pal.

How can anyone be characterised as a lower mid table side after no games though?

We’re all mid table at the moment!

I think you're referring to my post, but apologies if you're not. Sure, nobody truly knows at this stage but I am not expecting the likes of Port Vale, Carlisle and Crewe to finish above 12th next season, in fact if I were to predict the table right now I'd have the three sides somewhere around 15-20th tbh. This is only my opinion and I'm not trying to be disrespectful here.

Of course, I could well be wrong and you lot go on and piss the league, in which case I would be wrongin wanting to play you lot first. But getting your own's predictions completely wrong is entirely possible in this league as it;s not easy trying to determine what's in store for all 24 league sides.

Or maybe he was taking the piss. Wouldn't be the first time something ChrisFGR has said has been done with tongue in cheek, then taken seriously.

Possibly although under Aspin with his own squad with the issues so far answered from last season (ie GK, commanding centre half and legs in the middle) i personally hope we will be at least upper mid table.

Still need that second striker though... and Waters to be confirmed to almost complete the jigsaw.

Of course he was taking the p|ss , he quoted Mansfield not Newstead Abbey or Clumber Park! Mansfield , the tourist hotspot of the East Midlands. Not quite a UK shanty town but dull as f**k

Obvs. Wasn’t aimed at Chris

Your neck of the woods would be a good shout for the first game of the season.

Sick of being at home on the first day and the last day nearly every pissing season. Think we've been at home on the first day every season since 2004-05 apart from 2011-12 and 2016-17. We've also been at home on the last day nearly every season since 2000-01 apart from 2006-07, 2010-11 and 2015-16. I have no idea why that's like it is but it needs to sort itself out.

And given we've only won on opening day twice since 2005-06, it'll be the same old same old of us playing a club bringing loads to us, scabbing a point or a narrow win as most do, so I shouldn't really bother who we get.

That said, I don't want Vale at home or away on opening day, that game 3 years ago was one of the most boring games I've ever seen. Also, if we're away, no trips to Yeovil, Stevenage or Crawley as they're fucking shite days out for a start.

Never really noticed that, although we did of course beat you in the FA cup last season. But the Oldham match that sticks in my mind is the last time we played you in the league and you won 1-0 at our place.

That was towards the end of the 2013/14 season and in my mind was the moment I knew we were definitely going down, because it came at a crucial point in the run-in and against a team who should already have had their flip-flops on, yet we didn't even try, the players just looked totally resigned to their fate and although Oldham did look like they were already on holiday, they still went 1-0 up and didn't even have to defend against an onslaught of pressure we should have been applying.

Given that we won't have our new away end ready until October, I'm hoping that we have requested that we don't get the likes of Swindon, Yeovil, Notts County or massive Oldham first.
Definitely think MK would be hilarious though

Now Coventry have gone up we’re all piss ass little clubs in L2. A couple are having a bit of a flourish and punching above their weight, a couple are just fucked up and the rest are where they should be.

Their 2nd game draw with us should have been a cricket score! The keeper had one of those games.

I get the impression from this thread that Morecambe are going to be the leagues whipping boys.
