Big game.

Not sure on our injury situation, Maguire went off and it could potentially be a fairly lengthy one, Pearson could only manage 60 minutes on Saturday, DJ got a knock towards the end and Barkhuizen went off too.

Wolves are top at the moment so you would take a point all day long away from home, play like we did against Fulham and keep our key players on the pitch and we might cause an upset.

Yet to see Wolves this season but imagine they're classy in possession with pace down the sides based on the players at their disposal. No idea what they're like at the back, or how they hold up in a scrap though.

Tough one to call, can make strong cases of both teams winning this one. I think Preston will be much better than Villa were (can't be any worse).

We still seem weak at set pieces, and if Preston score I think it will be through a corner or free kick. If the ball is being scrambled in our area, we panic or just switch off entirely, nearly all of our goals this season are conceded in that way.

Our strenghts are how fast we can break going forward, Jota, Cavaleiro and Costa are rapid, and can be so clinical from counter attacks. As seems to be the way with all our games this season, how well Neves performes will be crucial to if we get anything from the game. The few games he doesn't look interested (Barnsley, Sheff Utd and Cardiff) we have been poor, and the attacking possession game doesn't work. I'd drop Costa for Bonatini, he still doesn't seem to be match fit (didn't have any pre season so don't blame him).

Ruddy
Coady - Batth - Miranda
Doherty ----------------------- Douglas
Neves - Saiss
Cav' -------------------- Jota
Bonatini

Agree. We will struggle against anyone with a long throw too. No idea why teams find this so difficult to defend, but it just seems to be.

I'd put Coady in the middle and I think Boly might be fit, so a back line of Bath - Coady - Boly would work for me. I'd also bring back Vinagre and consider dropping Neves (he looked tired by the end of the Villa game) with Price give a run out. I think it is important for the team to be able to play without Neves.
Perhaps Cav should be dropped for Costa rather than Costa for Bonatini. I agree that the game changed with Bonatini on last weekend, but Cav looked the weakest of the three.

Prediction: 0-0, but a far tougher test for Wolves, I think, than last weekend. The problem is that if both teams set up for counter-attack, then we could be in for both teams passing around the middle third all day long. Preston know how to soak it up and we haven't been good against strategically clever teams.

The only issue with dropping Neves is that Jack Price can't do half the things Neves can pull out of the bag. I agree to an extent that he needs a break (as he plays for Portugal age groups in the international break), but I feel it will be at large expense of risking the result of the match. Not saying Price is a bad player, he's probably avaerge to lower Championship quality, but I feel letting him play over Neves would be giving Preston a big advantage before a ball has been kicked.

In short, Fosun need to spend another 15m on a Neves clone incase he needs a rest or gets injured

Neill confirmed that Maguire is a doubt, shit news but not unexpected. Would be surprised to see anyone other than Harrop come into the team but I wouldn't mind Robinson, Horgan or Mavididi being handed a chance. Woods would be unlucky to lose his place but I think Neil will go with Darnell Fisher at right back.

Probable team providing no one else was injured on Saturday:

Maxwell
Fisher, Huntington, Davies, Earl
Browne, Pearson, Johnson
Barkhuizen, Hugill, Harrop

I see Barks has boiled some piss today by talking about their spending, touchy about that it seems.

Not sure why they're getting wound up, they've spent £47m according to their local paper.

I like how he has posted a picture of fishing on a pokemon game relating to how he has caught a few Wolves fans, much respect.

Watch out for Barky on Saturday. I swear he would beat Usain Bolt in a 100m race.

Tough tough game. Thought Fulham would beat us and we came so so close to getting all 3 points so who knows.

Maquire is going to be a huge loss. Think wolves will nick it but wouldn't be surprised if we came away with a win.

In fairness, it's not too different to the way our mongy fans responded to McGeady's pre-match comments.

Minor celeb says something and random unknowns reply. 21st Century journalism, eh? I can sniff a Pulitzer Prize for this one. Bernstein and Woodward are already planning a book, "All the PNE's Men".

For what it's worth I think we spent 47 million (If he means since when Fosun took over).

It really is disgraceful. We have spent £47 million on players. How do you think the Fosun crew feel if some billy big-bollocks undervalues our team by 15%? You don't see Wolves fans running around saying "Well that Tom Barkhuizen cost Preston £153,000 in his high-profile move from Morecambe to Preston". It was £180,000 and worth every penny. 15% is a big fucking deal. Take 15% off a compass reading and you got Preston Northwest End. Actually you've got Preston NorthwestByWest End. And he would be Tom Barkhuiz. Wanke!

You might be able to spend £40 million in this league and not go up, but I can assure you, we can spend £47 million and not do it.

Wait till you play QPR - Ian Holloway will certainly have his say over your spending and bringing in top players (for this level) from abroad.

Tough game this today, looking forward to it, would definetly take a point if offered.

This North End team are different to the one we've been used to watching over the last few years though and we'll go out to win the game which is exciting to see. Hopefully we won't be too affected by injuries, Maguire will be a big miss but hopefully Harrop can come in and do a job.

Got a decent stream, we're playing well. Johnson has missed a sitter, they've barely had a sniff.

65% possession to PNE. We haven't had a single shot on goal. We've had half the number of passes and half the success rate of those passes. Something's not going right.

Needed to put one of our earlier chances away to get into some sort of rhythm. We've let them get back in it since that DJ right footer that curled high/wide of the angle.

Still reckon we can get something out of it like.

Possession: 35% Wolves, 35% Preston, 30% Preston players surrounding and whining to the referee
