FIFA has revealed that tickets will go on sale in two phases, which are to be divided into two stages.
The first stage of phase one runs from September 14 to October 12. During this stage, all applicants have the same chance of getting tickets through a random selection draw, with notification to made by November 16.
At this point, of course, fans will be applying to certain matches and venues without knowing which teams will be playing.
The second stage of phase one begins on November 16 and concludes on November 28. During this period, a first-come, first-serve policy applies for the remaining allocation of tickets being sold in this window.
Phase two will be split up the same way. A random selection draw begins on December 5, soon after the World Cup draw is made, and runs until January 31.
The second stage of phase two is open from March 13 and ends on April 3, with tickets, once again, being allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
There will also be a last-minute sales phase, which will run from April 18 to July 15 - the day of the World Cup final.
FIFA has split up ticket prices for the World Cup into four different categories.
Categories one, two and three will be available to fans across the world through the online ticket sales.
Category four is reserved for Russian residents and will consist of at least 350,000 tickets to be sold to local fans.
These tickets will cost less: for comparison, the cheapest category-four ticket is priced at approximately £17, compared to £80 for the cheapest from the other three categories.

Thanks for the information.

Let's hope those who get tickets aren't subjected to watching dirty Peru in action.

Tough on the Irish - Swiss better side but to be undone like that is so frustrating.

Very poor decision.

Northern Ireland stitched up with some of those decisions tonight. 30 odd years and that's the refereeing performance they get.

Thought it was a tough draw for N Ireland when it came out. The Swiss are very functional and don’t give much away. It’s like watching a better version of N Ireland. Still, no easy draws at this stage. ROI have the best though in Denmark.

Was disappointed by Switzerland's lack of creativity from open play. NI were well organised but Switzerland never really managed to trouble them. Horrible decision by the ref which will most likely deny NI a decent chance in the 2nd leg.

Croatia are pretty much on the plane given an emphatic 4-1 win against Greece. Can't see the Greeks scoring 2, let alone 3. Senegal are on their way too. 2-0 up in South Africa and a win will ensure progress.

Watched that from afar on a dodgy stream but looked like Italy came for this expecting a strole and Sweden gave them a game. The 2nd leg will certainly be interesting. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Italians knocked out.

We showed today that we are a completely better side than New Zealand. However, that doesn't excuse that today we had an awful, awful game.

You are a completely better side but drew 0-0. Yeah, you showed 'em. Imagine what'd have happened if your players weren't all on the gear!

Goals galore in those intercontinental play-offs: goalless in both games.

Decent result for NZ, hopefully they can get an away goal in the second leg with Chris Wood back.

Hope Peru and Honduras get through. Can't be arsed with any countries who don't view football as their number one sport. I don't think USA, Canada, Australia etc deserve to be at the World Cup as they don't live and breathe the game

Please...Toivonen broke Bonucci's nose 20 seconds after the kick-off. We deserved to lose because Ventura is a terrible manager who left out the most fit players (El Shaarawy, Insigne, Jorginho) but with a better referee the match could have ended differently.

Watched the second-half of the Denmark-Ireland game. Ireland set themselves up to not concede, and it worked.

Good on them. Read a lot of abuse for their style of play but they have a bang average squad and this way of playing is the best opportunity they have to qualify for tournaments.

Both the Republic and Northern Ireland have come out of their first legs with a shot at it. Admittedly slightly tougher for N.Ireland. But it doesn't take much to go their way for either of them in the second leg. Fingers crossed.

Completely agree. Whether they'll have enough good fortune to get through we shall see.

Agreed. As someone whose country is distinctly mediocre at the footy and has been for decades, I wish we had ROI's tenacity. They've done wonders with what they've got over the years.

Sadly it isn't a competition of who plays the best football or has the most Gareth Bales. If only it was, Jimjams.

Half the time you don't even have a Gareth Bale because he's injured.
