The immaturity that broke the original draft split that led to deliberate sabotage to hurt Smackdown and damaging the product as a whole.

WWE's worst mistake is not doing more about substance abuse and concussions until fairly recently. The current safeguards and processes still leave a lot to be desired, but there have been positive reforms; and had they been made 10-15 years earlier, various lives might have been saved.

In terms of creative dropping the ball (which I suspect is what the original poster had in mind) the worst fumble was probably the invasion/alliance angle of 2001. Not the worst angle they've ever done, but certainly the most disappointing relative to its potential. The creative and financial opportunities at their disposal following the acquisition of WCW were immense.

Other wasted angles – not quite so bad but certainly fresher in the memory – include Nexus, Summer of Punk and the Wyatt Family. The Punk one in particular really got to me. That could have been a real sea change moment in the company (one towards it providing a much smarter and more postmodern form of entertainment) but somehow it ended up being about Nash and Triple H. That was probably the point where I gave up on WWE, or at least formed the opinion that Vince needs to die before it will get good again.

I know most people are over it now, but Brock breaking the streak still bothers me. Never should have happened.

Agree with all about that other than the last bit.

I think the Punk mishandling is a great shout, I actually saw people wearing his shirt in public and that's a rarity for me with wrestling gear. They had their hearts set on that two year plan with Cena and Rock, it was if Punk getting over was an unwanted nuisance, a bit like Zack Ryder. Much like Ryder they did their best to undermine and sabotage Punk to make sure everyone knew he wasn't the guy. I always thought they should have made WM 29 a triple threat elimination where Punk eliminates The Rock but then loses to Cena, achieving something Cena had spent the year obsessing about. That would have elevated Punk, made for an interesting story and given them another opportunity to do Rock vs Cena in a singles match.

TNA wise for me its their MNW timing. People may dismiss TNA and say it was never close and would be correct.

But on the Jan 2010 Monday when it first happens 8 million people watched over both show, when you consider now only 3.5 watch over both shows it highlights the interest fans genuinely had for worthy competition.

People flocked back to the product, got a night of suprises and big returns........thwn sadly these masses watched not only TNA's worst creative year, but also WWE's and most have since stopped watching.

Had it maybe happened better prepared, maybe 2008 or 2012 oh well
