I'd be interested to know what the biggest problem is at your club, obviously at many clubs it's going to be financial (even at Oxford, this would probably be my biggest concern) but I'm talking on the pitch problems.

When it comes to Oxford, the biggest problem for me would be the lack of out-and-out striker options, Jamie Mackie does a job up top, but seems to tire after 60 minutes and he's in the twilight of his career.

Other than that, the lack of strength in depth in defence concerns me. An injury to Dickie or Ruffels and some makeshift defences will have to be used.

Think we've got enough in the tank for mid-table (if a new striker joins)

Ours is squad depth at the minute.

We have a solid enough first 16 (only 13 of those 16 are available as it stands) but beyond that, it's kids.

In an ideal world, we need a couple of full backs, a CB, a defensive midfielder (or someone who's got a bit of height and physicality about him), a winger and a striker.

In all likely hood, we'll end up with one full back, a CB (who can possibly cover the other FB position) and a defensive midfielder.

If Andrade is sold, which is probably likely IMO, then we'll need another wide player otherwise we'll be left with two and there might be some finance there to get another striker in as well.

I'd agree with those and also say a lack of proper pace up top too?

Gavin Whyte had it in abundance, and Sinclair and Browne had it being young.

If we can get someone in with some genuine pace to cause problems I'd be happy :)

Depends really, I didn't make Sunderland, did Woodburn and Fosu look like they had pace to burn? If so, we could afford to have a target man with a bit less pace.

I'd like a target man, and a pacy forward to come on in the last 20 and cause problems. Won't happen though.

We should try and get it sorted before Saturday.

Two many forced changes from last season, losing 3 key players. 2 in defence and our top goalscorer. Also due to the ground and pitch having work done we couldn't play a friendly against anyone half decent. In terms of quality I think we are good, but think we still need someone abit more creative behind the striker rather than Evans, who runs all day and is a great finisher or Pitman who is a brilliant player, but not a creative number 10

Probably a lack of a true League One striker. Those we have are decent and either did well in League 2 or have done well in the past, but for right now I’m not too confident that more than one will get to the 15-20 goal mark.

We're very short up front
No sign of Billy Kee still - he's not been seen since the squad came back for pre-season training and Zanzala got injured in one of the friendlies.

Otherwise very positive our way after re-laying the pitch and further ground improvements

Fitness levels - still missing one or two really key players that won't be ready for our first game - Jordan Moore-Taylor and Alex Gilbey, potentially Rhys Healey too.

I'd say we could also probably do with another striker. The ones we have are questionable/unproven at L1 level and we could do with someone more established at this level.

We are a selling club and have replaced our experience with unknown quantities with lots of potential but no appearances.. And this will tell with maturity I fear.
We need a striker (doesn't everyone) Boyce looks uninterested after getting his head turned by a move to celtic last year that didn't come off.
A few key injuries and we are screwed.

Having a threatening attacking line up that gets wasted in a defensive formation and tactics. Kenny Jacket seems to get decent players in and then goes back to his Graham Taylor handbook.

I agree but I don't think we will get any more strikers, we have 7. We need to get goals from midfield and I think we can do that.

Not having a settled squad and formation. Mixture of late arrivals, injuries and now suspensions!

Over-reliance on one player for goals. Fortunately, that player is Ian Henderson...

Our biggest problem is that we don't own our stadium.

I would say it is just a general lack of quality and experience at this level, particularly up front.
However, I think we will settle down in time.

Mellon has always been able to get the best out of a fairly limited group of players, plus it seems there is investment on the horizon.

We don't have anywhere near enough goals in the team. Hiwula does ok but he's never going to get you more than 14 a season, and I don't think we have anyone else capable of getting more than 8.

I’m not so sure ya know... A front 3 of Hepburn Murphy, Jennings and Ferrier is fairly solid. There are obviously better attacking line ups in the league but given our budget that’s not too bad imo!

We have got players with potential, but none of them have really scored goals at this level, apart from Payne at Shrewsbury. However, with Mellon's assistance some of them will make the step up.

I think the centre of defence and central midfield are our strongest areas.

We’ve got a lot of injuries (shock), around 10 on Saturday which meant a makeshift back 4. We also haven’t had the backing from Evans again to bring in decent full backs.

However, I am becoming mildly confident about the season but that may be because we’ve actually finally won a game

Not racially abusing your own player?

We had one incident last season as well (opposition player this time) and over the past couple of seasons I think there is a noticeable increase to complete bellends, kunckle draggers and general boozed up twats following us away.

As for on the pitch, zero creativity in midfield and a complete lack of decent wingers. Bond seemingly wants to play 4-3-3/4-5-1, mistake, nothing good ever comes of a formation other than 4-4-2 with the limited players at this level.

Getting a NEW team every close season.

Getting a NEW manager most January's.

A gob sh*te twitterati chairman.

All successful businesses / teams are built on familiarity knowing each others strengths & weaknesses , changing things every 5 minutes won't get you no where , it's hardly rocket science !
