Another away game and I fear another twatting, 6 straight away defeats, last away win was October and a defence partially made up of central midfielders, going forward we're not too bad but defensively we're abysmal.

Got a feeling Newport will beat Morecambe tonight, so a point for you Poolies will be worth it's weight in gold. Orient's result doesn't really matter as it's only a matter of time before they get hit with a 12 point deduction.

Don't really know what to expect tonight as I don't know how Pools set up on the road. If they stick ten men behind the ball then I feel we'll struggle a lot, and will probably drop points. A look at our two previous encounters also show that we had to rely on two very late goals. Couple seasons back, Dunk got an 88th min goal for a 2-1 win, and last season it was only a Williamson goal in injury time that got us a 1-1 draw in what was a truly terrible game.

I'm sure I read on our board that we hadn't beaten your lot away since 1998 and only won twice in about 20 matches, doesn't bode well, we tend to not have many shots and even fewer on target, Thomas will probably be our biggest/only threat, would've liked to see him up against Carroll as I think he'd give him the run around, any chance of giving the calamity left back a game?

I'm always more confident about getting something away from home but this is the last regular mid-week game at the Abbey under lights and I think there is a fair chance we'll be up for it and capable of doing the business - especially if Medy Elito and Barry Corr can skate round their injury issues and make a significant contribution. Nice to have a couple of (positive) selection headaches. I'd be happy with Clark in an away 4231 set up but he may not even feature and we'll probably start with:

Although mid-week gates are usually down, we might manage 4,000 plus - 4,037 (92 'Pools) to see a tight 2 - 1 affair.

A strong, pressing, start will be essential, along with the first goal, if it's not going to be a long night. If Corr has to come on, I hope it's to steady the ship, not chase for goals

I wanna like Derry but the bloke keeps making these massive fuck ups, I mean why take our best midfielder in dunne off when Clark stays on who ain't worth a wank, Carroll can fuck off en all, he's got as much positional awareness as stevie wonder!

We're at home to a side with the worst away record in the lge and it's like a pre fucking season friendly, couldn't create a chance in a month of Sunday's.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that was in the worst five games of football I've ever seen. Hartlepool were dreadful and so were we. I wish I hadn't gone tonight, it was beyond awful.

We were utterly clueless and never looked like scoring. The fact this was against a Hartlepool side who had lost six away games on the bounce, hadn't won away since October and had the worst away defensive record in the league is shameful. Oh and we managed one woeful shot on target from 25 yards all game.

But Hartlepool were awful too and this was summed up by the fact that even when we were a man down, we were still able to push them back despite how poorly we were playing.

And as for the goal.......soft isn't close to strong enough. Fuck me, what a waste of an evening. Derry out.

We've lost nine games at home so far this season. The expectation/aim at the beginning of the season was to be in the play offs. The two statements don't fit together, hence why we're ever so slightly fucked off.

It's fair to say Derry has divided our fanbase. Our good form coincided with a run against lesser sides in the league, papering over the cracks but I was never convinced. Carlisle was a good example of how he sets up his team, but then he tries to repeat it at home. It simply doesn't work, and he has no plan B. Tonight was truly awful, and highlights how negative and clueless he is. He even said he was surprised by the performance, how is that even possible considering we've been shite at home all season?!

Not to mention there are some massive questions to be answered in regards to recruitment.

Behave. We were as poor as you lot, in fact a mate of mine who was at the match said the game was nailed on for a nil nil, until your lot decided to self implode and gifted us two needless pens.

As a neutral observer, I find it really odd Derry can't seem to be successful for Cambridge at home when he masterminded Notts County's incredible home form during their great escape in 2013-14, it was their away form that was often found severely lacking!

We are an awful side really, square pegs in round holes all over the park as a result of being so badly run off the pitch, although moving Brad Walker to centre half looks a masterstroke. We've also had horrendous injuries to all key players all season.

What I will not criticise them for is a lack of effort. They're a young side, the only quality we have is Thomas and Amond at a push but at this level organisation and just staying in the game mean a lot.

It's nice to see some of the arrogant pre match remarks shoved back in Cambridge's face but they weren't anything I disagreed with.

I think we should be safe now, roll on the same battle next season.

Classic Derry home performance. I'm glad I get to the odd away match to help keep the faith. We were mostly up for it - just not capable. An exception was Luke Berry - who was again strangely listless. I'm beginning to think he really has the rumoured new home (Ipswich?) lined up for next season.

I think we've comprehensively proved that it is possible to survive in this division without fielding an even half-competent L2 striker (never mind two) for most of the matches. I'm sure we'll pick up the odd point or three before the Easter return of Uche, Barry (and even McGurk?) in search of contracts for next season.

Pissed off but don't begrudge 'Pools the points for their survival, even if it papers over their own ownership issues.
