Bit of a daft/odd thing to say, given his strike partner is black.

Exactly ! The players would have kicked off if Rheady had said something like that!

Back on the game our equaliser appears to go straight in from the corner to me from watching it on channel 5.

As the keeper is catching it he is bundled into the net, even Bostwick admitted after the game he got nowhere near the ball.
To be honest, wasn't a surprise as the Ref was absolutely useless, obviously enjoyed his Lincolnshire sausage before the game.

Would have taken a draw before the game, and even more so after being 1 down & with 10 men, but coming away from the ground it felt like a defeat.

As for the red card, I thought it was harsh as there was no attempt to bring him down, it looked like Preston was just trying to stay goal side of him & their legs got tangled up. Thought it was a soft penalty (I would though) but never a red card, but with the ref (see earlier comment), not surprised.

Oh, one other thing of note, when Lincoln had an uncontested drop ball as they were giving the ball back, they knocked it into the corner and their striker raced after it to win it back, no such thing as sportsmanship in Lincoln then?

Although I understand your point on the drop ball, I think we were in possession when the ref stopped the game. Don't think we are duty bound to give you the ball. Maybe the drop should have been played to our keeper by your lad.
The Rhead thing is just ridiculous. He's played with Matt Green for a good few years. They get on very well and celebrate goals together. Those eagle eyed lip readers might want to visit an optician as Matt Green has an obvious characteristic.

It's a serious accusation based on apparent lip reading and no reaction from any player about said incident.

Even your manager said he should have just let Green have the shot. It's a red card in the context of the type of penalty - not that I necessarily agree with that.

The 'keeper isn't bundled into the net, either. You'll not see if from the replay from the main camera angle but there's a video from in line with the corner, which is roughly my view, and the 'keeper scissor hands it in. He never even catches it to start with. Green is standing around him but he flaps it in.

Shame to see Cowley getting into the referee’s ear, couple of dubious ones have gone Lincoln’s way massively there.

Kevin just needs more practice. Apparently the referee cost them the games against Exeter and Crawley.

Apparently especially in the non league scene he did have a reputation with officials. And he’s been sent to the stands twice this year. I think he believes if it can influence officials it’s the minimal gains that help get to the end result.

Onto the game up until the sending off of their player and the penalty I thought we looked fairly comfortable without ever looking threatening. After we scored we backed off imo.
For Swindon’s first goal Farman should do a lot better. However for the second goal we backed off so much you could fit a bloody double decker bus between our defence and Ollie banks. Farman should of also done better with it but it should have been shut down beforehand. Definitely missed raggett there.

Second half it was wave after wave of Lincoln attack and it just felt like one of those days but take enough shots etc I suppose one had to come off.

I thought the red had an okay game. I liked when the goalkeeper was time wasting with the ball in his hands, he awarded a indirect free kick and knocked that on the head.

I thought Swindon managed the game quite well since they only had 10 but never blew us away.

So because his strike partner is black Rhead definitely didn't use racism towards the opposition and that's that yeah?

Cracking case for the defence guys.

I mean he's fat, ugly, and a complete fucking cheat so he doesn't really have a lot going for him so I guess he might as well be racist as well eh?

Rhead was a JCB digger bloke before we turned him professional, therefore working class, therefore obviously racist.

Maybe some Students at Lincoln university can protest.

None of the players, management and officials of Swindon have mentioned this anywhere that I've seen and nothing happened during the game.

Keeper has his hands on the ball, albeit not yet caught it, and one of the two Lincoln players (assume it's Bostwick_ collide with him as he's trying to make the catch. I was directly behind the goal & there was definitely contact on the keeper as he's trying to catch it

In every other scenario that's a foul. In fact, even Bostwick admitted as much after the match, he didn't touch the ball, he just made contact with the keeper.

Obviously I'm going to be aggrieved as this one, like all the other 50/50 decisions went against us.

None of the players, management and officials of Swindon have mentioned this anywhere that I've seen and nothing happened during the game.

To be fair it was apparently one or two of the fans lip reading. To be honest if the players don't hear it, then it's a non story & everyone should just move on.

I liked when the goalkeeper was time wasting with the ball in his hands, he awarded a indirect free kick and knocked that on the head.

To be fair to the keeper he kept backing away to make space to kick the ball & Rhead just kept following him so he couldn't. You could just as easily have argued it was obstruction. The ref didn't book our keeper for time wasting, if that is what he thought it was.

Swings and roundabouts, it just makes up for the last minute penalty you got against Chesterfield. :2thumb:

Agreed. A couple of months back I was watching an Italian Serie B game, and the fans of the home side were racially abusing the away's side black players all the time - monkey noises and the like - and yet wildly cheering the couple of African forwards playing for their side every time they had the ball at their feet. Unbelievable Jeff.

It wasn’t the first time he’d held it for 10+ seconds though. I agree Rhead could have been called for obstruction as he was in the area but the keeper had held it for a long time when green was doing a similar thing but was outside the area so wasn’t obstruction so I think that swayed the refs decision
